she gave me the best present ever. >> reporter: new castle police and fbi announced it is over. >> amber leather for elinor has been canceled at this time. >> reporter: police say around 2:30, less than 24 hours, after she went missing, the the fbi located three-year old elinor trotta unharmed with her father michael trotta. fbi spokes agent jack web said they tracked trotta to a apartment complex in spencer massachusetts and made an arrest without resistance. >> this is an example when state local law enforcement worked together rapidly to achieve a victory. >> reporter: police say four three-year old michael trotta abducted elinor monday night from new castle after attacks his ex-girlfriend dawn. by tuesday afternoon, dawn was planning her reunion. >> i will squeeze her, hug her, kiss her. >> reporter: and as we speak dawn is getting ready to board a plane with law enforcement to head to massachusetts for

that reunion, with her daughter. officials are telling thaws in a crime that span nearly the entire north east of our country, nobody was injured, they were able to bring in michael with no incident. reporting live from new castle, i'm steve pather on for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> a happy ending there, steve, thank you. developing right the now, this is video just in from the gas explosion in stafford township. you can see a fireball and then the explosion sent debris flying from the house into the the the air right there. this is video from a police car's dash camera. new lets look live at the scene from chopper three. we know more than a dozen people were injured in this blast. story is unfolding on oak avenue in stafford township where between 57 and 100 homes were evacuated. "eyewitness news" reporter charlotte huffman is live with the very latest tonight, charlotte. >> reporter: jessica, a resident here in stafford township called police around 9:00 this morning reporting odor of gas and crews responded to shut off the the

gas but it was an hour and a half later that the house on oak lane exploded, injuring 15 people including gas workers and sending two of them to the hospital in critical condition. debris from what used to be someone's home thrown across the street. the the home itself, completely leveled. the view from chopper three shows fire and smoke rising from the scorched area where it once stood. >> within two minutes of that the walls shook, my pictures came off lines came off the wall stuff out of the cabinets and it was just chaos from there. >> reporter: even employees at a dentist office a third mile away heard and felt the blast. >> all of a sudden that door opened and then it shut and then there was a big bang. >> reporter: chief jack johnson was a first responder on the scene and trying to locate the source of the leak when the explosion happened. >> i described it, it happened so quickly, that the explosion, it had debris all around us just coming from no where. >> reporter: blast damage dozens of homes on oak

news". >> charlotte, thanks very much. another arctic blast is breaking records as february wind down, it is an end to the deep freeze in sight? for answers lets turn to meteorologist kathy orr live on the cbs-3 sky deck, kathy. >> chris, it was a record breaking morning and we are hoping we will not see anymore of those and february will be a historic month. look at these morning lows a across the delaware valley. the record in the poconos was 14 below, the new record, it is 15 below. allentown new record eight below. reading a new record of 3 degrees below zero, wilmington we tied at six and georgetown delaware a new record of 11 degrees. temperatures rebounded nicely when we consider how cold it was. philadelphia, 23, after a temperature of seven this morning. temperatures running at least 20 degrees below normal. the it feels like the teens every where with the exemption of the dover and poconos and coming up, we are looking at snow right new to the south

of the revel casino in atlantic city has been brought back from the dead. developer glenn straub signed a new deal agreeing to buy the revel for 82 million-dollar. the last week a bankruptcy court judge approved their decision to drop a 95.4 million-dollar deal to straub who missed a deadline to close. the casino cost 2.4 billion dollars to bill. new jersey governor chris christie called for pension reform during his budget address in trenton today. the $33.8 billion spending plan includes no tax increases. however the state is facing a revenue short fall this year. governor says more is needed to avoid derailing spending on future education and possibility of raising taxes. >> anybody in this room who thinks our citizens deserve and can afford a 29 percent income tax increase on every hard working taxpayer in new jersey? >> democrats today complained that the governor's budget address lacked details for new you revenue sources.

going for second coldest february, ever. that is a really big deal. well, this mean a hot summer? well possibly. one month does not predict the next but nature seems to reach a balance. we will be seeing cold temperatures for wednesday but easing up a little bit on the bitterness. temperatures in the 30's. still well below average. high pressure gives way to another area of low pressure. this will bring heavy snow to the mid-atlantic. we are on the northern fringe. even in philadelphia we can see snow flurries on thursday with a light accumulation through south jersey and delaware and high pressure builds in for friday making it very coal. overnight the low 17 degrees during the day tomorrow high of 38, little bit of the breeze will keep wind chills in the 20's. on the eyewitness weather seven day forecast thursday cold with the chance of the morning snow shower south and east and then friday's cold, saturday cold but look at improvement for sunday, monday and tuesday it looks like a better chance of rain as those

temperatures warm up especially next week. >> forty-seven. >> if you were proverbial to corner there. >> must be nice. >> kathy thanks. good evening everyone. we still have big time delays lingering out there good news is we have had two earlier incident on i-95 in the northbound direction, one in cottman and one around betsy ross bridge, disabled reek will and an accident both of those have been cleared but we are jam in and out of the center city using out bound and northbound side of i-95. we are looking at schuylkill expressway and there is no signs of rush hour letting up just yet, traveling westbound which is this shot here moving beyond stretch of the city avenue all the way through your western suburbs you'll fine delays. eastbound delays as well around conshohocken heading out of king of prussia, around vine itself. if you are traffic on the vine street expressway itself westbound we are seeing volume between broad and schuylkill eastbound we are seeing delays between 76. just beyond the parkway a approaching i-95.
