chilly start to the morning for us but oddly enough, it is not as harsh as we are's still only talking temperatures that break into the upper 30's today. that will sure beat what we have been dealing with in recent mornings for sure. we can expect a generally nice looking day as we kick things off and take a quick look at storm scan three tri-state sweep made and not being picked up by anything. you wouldn't know there is a cold front coming along because cold front tend to bring moisture. this one not so much. certainly going to make up with the cold that it produces but i don't think you worry about precipitation out of it. problem is there is a new storm brewing right now over texas and deep south and that is what actually moves in for us tomorrow. so early tomorrow morning, generally before the sun comes up, a light round of snow moves in. it will be a in moisture rich system but it is moving so quickly that it will just have have time to dump a quick coat to go an inch through the suburbs. many may not see that. otherwise a quick coat to go an inch or two out towards the

shore points and at this point there is nothing more than a winter weather advisory posted for sussex county, delaware, everybody else in the clear so to speak but we will see slick spots out of it. that is tomorrow morning. for now here's where we stan, it is cold very modest breeze, enough to knock say five or seven or 8 degrees off an hour feels like temperature but breeze has certainly slack end up for us but it will pick up with time and that does mark the the arrival and passage of that next cold front i mentioned a moment ago. the it does come through generally dry it will knock us back in the 20's again for tomorrow and friday for that matter, so it is a busy pattern but thankfully we are still not tracking any kind of major stormy weather, here in our area the next few days, vittoria back over to you. i think we will take the cold over the the snow. traffic wise we're in the really dealing with any problems, or really anything to be disrupting the majors. the ben franklin bridge taking a look behind me vice serene

captured moment a quiet community in ocean county new jersey is jolted by terrifying gas explosion. it complete thely obliterated a a home sending debris raining down from the sky. when dust settles 15 people were hurt, two critically. >> utility workers were searching for source of the gas leak on oak avenue in stafford township yesterday morning when something went wrong. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us what is happening, good morning jan? >> reporter: erika and ukee good morning. the gas crews have been working around the clock here trying to get that service restore to that area we are being kept far from the scene this morning. you can see oak avenue just down there with those police lights. the they are keeping us off of that street, right now as gas employees continue to work. i was just able to talk to a police office shore says yes there are crew is still down there and crews hope to have gas restored in this area over the next hour. now the mayor of stafford township tells us that the the explosion yesterday was caused by a a 34 year-old main gas

line here under oak avenue, 15 people as you mentioned were injured, two critically in the explosion but thankfully all are expected to recover and that is amazing when you look at this explosion this same video was captured around 10:30 tuesday morning on the police officer's dash cam. you see the the the fireball and then all of the debris. just about an hour and a half earlier several homes had been evacuated after resident complained about smelling gas. workers with the new jersey natural gas responded to investigate and soon afterward that explosion happened. that home at 59 oak avenue was blown to bits. only thing lefties block basement. fortunately the family was not at home but more than a dozen fire fighters, e ms and gas workers were on the scene they were injured. all are expect to recover. neighboring homes were damaged as well. rest of the neighborhood felt the explosion and folks here are still shaking up about it. >> it was terribly loud. i never heard anything so

loud, i thought a tractor trailer hit this porch, that is how much the house shook. the the whole neighborhood was just shaken unbelievably. >> we heard the big explosion, you felt it, the whole building shook. our whole house shook. you felt it was big. it shook the the floors. the whole foundation of the house. >> reporter: at one point yesterday more than 75 homes were evacuated, and no electricity, no gas, gas crews will remain on the scene trying to restore services to everyone in this area. we are hoping to get an update the from the gas company, very soon but in the meantime we are live, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we want to give you an idea of the devastation from that explosion. this is satellite view of that house on oak avenue this house right here that is before the blast. normal looking house, right. now here, do you see that, that is what is left the from the explosion. only the foundation of that

home barely visible there and just so much ruble and debris around that area. before and after there, ukee. now new this morning freezing temperatures are sure to turn part of this northeast philadelphia roadway into an ice rink following a water main break in rhawnhurst. main ruptured underneath the sidewalk along 2,000 block of glendale avenue. this happened around 10:00 o'clock last night. water rush in the treats for hours but we're told it is not impacting any residents service. also from overnight water department crews will to have deal with another break this one is in fox chase water poured from a crack in the street at intersection of al dean and no homes or businesses were affected. erika? ukee, a delaware mother and little girl are expect to head home today. the amber alert canceled after that three-year old was found safe with her father. the the intense search spanned out across multiple states. yesterday she was located hundreds of miles away in

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us from new castle delaware with the latest on this story justin good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. the that is right, elinor trotta and her mother by now are already back together. they are set to return to their new castle home at some point today. her mother a says this is a happy end to go what has been a gut wrenching experience. take a listen. >> prayed all day to god that i would get her back and he gave me the best birthday present ever. i broke down. i got to talk to her on the phone. she's shaken but she's ready to be back with me. >> reporter: at a press conference yesterday, we heard that story, elinor was taken a monday night by her father, michael trotta after assaulting elinor's mother dawn barkus. an amber alert was issued and multi state issues were on on

hit the gas instead of the brake. jeep then hit a guardrail went up a snow bank and landed on cars at piazza acura. the driver of the jeep was taken to the hospital. a former marine now faces life without parole after being convicted in the so call american snipper trial. >> late last night a texas jury found eddie way out guilty of gunning down chris kyle and chad littlefield. not too much happening here we did have a disturbance bypassing us generally speaking but still retreating from southeastern most new england but next cold front on the map, indicated basically by these couple little scattered round of snow showers. it doesn't have a ton of moisture but it is going to kick the breeze in for us and we will eventually start to see some colder air moving back in. here is the storm we are talking about bringing in some snow by tomorrow already. it is very far away. that tells you that it is moving quickly right? it will be sipping right out across southeastern u.s. and then just clipping our area. here is the track looking at the time early tomorrow morning you can see it moving in and moves out to sea. generally through southeastern portion of our area we have the best shot to see, a coat to go an inch or two. we have a winter weather advisory in effect late tonight for sussex county delaware. everyone else we see a quick coating out of the the snow shower or two and that is it.

but i saw something out there. also traveling north bound on the 42 freeway that is what that was, excuse me, some construction. we are not too far from 295. they could be moving on the north bound side of the 42 between 55 and 295 watch out for lane blockages erika. two people remain in critical condition after yesterday's gas explosion in ocean county. a police dash cam from stafford township police caught the explosion on camera. just incredible. that leveled that house and sent at least 15 people to hospital. crews are replacing that gas main today. >> elinor trotta three-year old subject of the yesterday's amber alert has been found safe in massachusetts. her father michael trotta took her from her home yesterday, trotta is in custody and awaiting extradition to delaware. jury convicts eddie lee routh in the shooting death the of the american snipper author chris kyle and another man. routh was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
