three crime scenes after gunfire three people dead a fourth person is wounded. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us now with the latest on the investigation, jan. >> reporter: good morning. homicide detective hard at work, you mentioned, four people shot, three different scenes, three people dead most recent of these shootings is a double homicide both of the victims 23 year-old men. a violent overnight in philadelphia a, where crime scene markers, dotted the streets. four people shot at three different locations resulting in three deaths latest happened here in grays ferry a double homicide. three men were shot at 2700 block of latona street where police found nine shell casings. investigators also recovered a gun. >> at the hospital police found a revolver handgun in his pocket. >> reporter: first shooting happened late tuesday night around 11:30. police found a 34 year-old

woman shot in the driver seat of the car in the 200 block of west moreland street in fair hill. police say the suspect fired 11 shots and before the victim cars stop it had run into three other park cars on the block no suspect description or motive but driver side window was down when police arrived. >> it appears that possibly the 34 year old female had her window down because she was talking to someone or involved in some sort of transaction. >> reporter: finally two men walk in the 12th district police headquarters in southwest philadelphia just before 2:00, one was shot in the head. that victim tells police he was approached by two men at 67th and guyer avenue and told to give up his car. >> victim in this incident accelerated, attempted to flee and then unknown male fired several shots in the rear of the vehicle. >> reporter: the victim in that case also only suffered a grazed wound to the head. he is expect to survive. police do not believe that the shootings are related at this

point however, this is still under investigation. anyone with any information is asked to call police. we're reporting live outside philadelphia a police headquarters this morning, j a an carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". trial continues for eric torees today, he is charged with shooting philadelphia officer edward davies in a feltonville store in august of 2013. police were trying to subdue an arm suspect. officer davies lost a kidney in the the shooting. torres's attorney said no one saw his client with the gun let alone his finger on the trigger. senate is clearing way to pass a bill to fund the department of home land security, before midnight friday deadline. that vote is scheduled for later today. this measure, in longer includes provision toss block president obama's executive actions on immigration. from there it goes to the house. some conservatives call the omission of the immigration related divisions a surrender to the the white house. this morning three men face serious time in prison. the authorities say that they were plot to go travel to

lets go next to storm scan three and i will show you what is up. i got the question on kyw news radio here, is there any chance this could creep further north than what we were indicating? i don't think so. looking at wide zoom, this will be rotating, away taking away not just energy but its moisture source too. even though we are seeing a couple snow showers in philadelphia certainly, maybe even up to an inch of snow and if we go in the western suburbs, that is all you'll fine. so sweet shot of snow you have to go south three to 5 inches in sussex county, northern tear of delaware and southern half of new jersey it the is more like one to 3 inches and then that is it. this isn't a major storm but comes with poor timing. next three days we are still expecting upper 20's in general through midday but there is a little easing up on the thermometer and i to think that the next three days are coldest we will to have deal with. and then we will start a slow warming trend vittoria. good morning everyone.

we are starting to see the slow build up of rush hour traveling on i-95, i-95 south around cottman avenue. you will notice taillight here rounding the bend been you will be delayed. southbound starting to feel heat of rush hour around cottman but into girard avenue. it will only grow bigger from there. moving to the schuylkill expressway 76 looking good. not too far from spring garden, east and westbound commuting just fine. 6:14. traveling on the westbound side of 76, approaching city avenue would i start to anticipate traffic. moving our way into new jersey, we have been listening to katie talk about how in southern new jersey we will see that snowfall. so garden state parkway is issuing speed restrictions of 50 miles an hour for anyone traveling southbound southbound and north bound rather between sea isle boulevard and cape may. just note that if that is where you are headed. things at the airport are checking out and looking fine. let's head back to the desk.

"eyewitness news" spoke to three-year old elinor trotta a and her mother dawn barknews new castle. they were reunited tuesday night. girl and her father michael trotta were subject of the amber alert after trotta assaulted barkas and then kidnaped elinor. >> she's glad to be home and that is all she kept saying since i found her last night. i was reunited with her. she kept asking when are we going home. >> the girls father was arrested without incident. he made his first court appearance in massachusetts and awaiting extradition. three people are killed overnight on the violent streets of philadelphia a woman was shot to death in a car in west more land street in north philadelphia and two men shot and killed in grays ferry. another man was shot in the head in southwest philadelphia but he survived. also this morning, two of the three men arrested in new york for allegedly plot to go

it is called c and a new cdc study a says many people who contracted the bug had had in the been in the hospital but had been recently to the doctor or dentist. the cdc is performing another study hoping to definitely proof, where the infections came from. researchers say too much sleep could increase the the risk of a stroke. scientists at the university of cambridge found people who slept more than eight hours a night were 46 percent more likely to suffer a stroke compared to those who slept six to eight hours a night. doctors say more research is needed to determine the link. another lawsuit claims the popular dog filed been full is harmful to duke. a lawsuit was file. that suit allege that the food contains animal toxins used in antifreeze. the it also says that the toxin a has led to serious illness, and death of about 3,000 dogs. purina issued a statement

we have an eye on the storm this morning in. mobile weather lab in sea isle city and look at these tracks in the ground, definite willly some snow on the ground. all this just as we get ready to hit the road to school and work. storm scan three on the the right showing the system from the south and it is mostly an issue for people in delaware and south jersey. the it seems like that is the trend, katie this winter for storms. typically poconos, and, storms to the south of us. >> i think what you think of when you hear there is a snow

storm you go up to the mountains. that is where your head takes you. the it just all depend. where does the storm set up. we have had plenty of cold air for everyone to work with. when this storm decided to sit up and clip our area, that meant that the lehigh valley and poconos weren't going to see a lot out of it. there has been plenty of moisture. even those with quick hitting systems, look at that we have darker shade, showing upright the now down along south of the i-95 corridor and through basically the southern half of new jersey and all of the first state of delaware currently encompassed by snowfall. you'll see it coming through at varying rates as well. we have winter alerts posted for where the storm is tracking and we will show this to you yesterday. it shows you where brunt is happening. notice brunt of that pink indicating winter storm warnings does extend in sussex county delaware. that is where sweep spot is of snow that will fall but we expect a general one to 3 inches across the rest of

delaware and southern local half of new jersey. so again one to 3 inches there. as we head north it may be a quick coating to an inch, max across philadelphia, immediate suburbs and far northwestern suburbs, so western montgomery upper bucks and points on north to the lehigh valley stray snow showers for you, very very limit add accumulation, if anything a dusting on the windshield and that would be it. otherwise, some flurries. meanwhile as day progresses here we expect to flirt with 30 degrees. we are staying steady for better part of the the day here. we will expect to hit 30 degrees midday down the shore. the shore will be doing better then we will in philadelphia a this time around in terms of snowfall. we do want to get a check of how things are looking at the shore. we will send things out to justin finch live for us in the mobil weather lab hi justin. >> reporter: katie, good morning, we are in fish alley here in sea isle city, new jersey making our way to the boulevard here. as you can see the streets

good morning. a violent overnight in philadelphia homicide detective very bus think morning, they are investigating four shootings at three locations as three people are dead this morning. take a look at the rid ohio. latest shooting is a double homicide that happened after 2:00 a.m. two men were shot on the 2700 block of latona sleet in grays ferry. one man was shot the in the head, other man shot in both legs. both are 23 years old. both have now died. police found nine shell casings at the the scene and they have recovered a gun which was found on one of the victims at the hospital, take a listen. >> we know that there are two weapons involved. one that left the spent shell casings on the street and second weapon is one we found on our 23 year-old rick tim shot in the head. it is unknown until we examine that revolver and whether or not that was fired. >> reporter: that revolver was found on the victim in his pock, at the hospital.
