them may have been injured in what this shoot-out earlier this afternoon. that one suspect is at einstein. you can see the extent of the crime scene here in the hope plaza at 22nd and lehigh. we have seen a lot of top brass on the scene this afternoon. just a few moments ago police commissioner charles ramsey was out here. according to sources tonight just after 4:30 there was some type of hold up at game stop store inside this plaza police officer got in the shoot-out with two suspects. one officer was shot in the head and is in critical condition tonight at temple university hospital. one of the suspects may have also been injured in that shoot-out and is now at einstein. two people in custody. that is very latest from north philadelphia, at this hour, i'm diana a rocco for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" good thank you for that. lets check at temple hospital where that officer is right now. >> that is where pat ciarrocchi is live continuing our breaking coverage, pat.

>> reporter: well, chris and jessica, had has to be one of the sadest kind of scenes. it is a police officer inside fighting for his life critically wounded after a shooting that happened at 4:30 as diana has reported. we should take a look behind me police officer's cars, lights flashing, just the very edge of an emergency room where that police officer was brought less than two hours ago. again, a sad scene here, police officers earlier had been lined up, kind of standing vigil just waiting for word as to what happened to their collogue. from what we understand family members are inside. what we are waiting for in scenes like this is the the mayor to come forward and also police commissioner charles ramsey. they would be updating us as to the actual condition of the police officer. so again a police officer here at temple university hospital fighting for his life at this point. he is critically wounded in an

we are looking at dry conditions but still icy conditions. on storm scan three we are seeing a break of the precipitation and heavier snow in the the south jersey, one more ban of snow, light snow moving through in the next hour or two across the region. right now going through lehigh valley, we have cleared out and maryland rate snow. >> and philadelphia is up too 5 miles. quakertown doylestown, and, snow has ended there. snow amounts, royersford mantua six and horsham, and 5 inches of snow, and most locations, between, five and 8 inches of snow. right now in philadelphia, it is only 20 degrees. the poconos 13, look at the cold that is coming. and, tomorrow morning we will be challenging record cold in

well, moments of terror for some passengers on board this delta airlines flight, landing a at laguardia airport in new york. the plane skidded off a runway and into a fence as they tried to land this all happen a after 11:00 o'clock this morning. this shows passengers walking away from that plane, and they had to climb out a broken wing. 132 people were on board that aircraft, none was seriously injured. we continue to follow breaking news tonight a philadelphia police officer is shot and gravely wounded, two suspects are in custody, we will continue to gather new information we will bring you updates a as soon as we get them. the snow is end ago cross the the delaware valley, visibility increasing right now still seeing maryland rate snow in south jersey and one more band of light, moving in little later on but after the snow welshing we will see a deep freeze and a warm up all in the seven day when we come back.

robbery at the game stop at 22nd and lehigh. there are reports two suspects are in custody. one was shot. we continue to have have an eye on the storm, a little break in the action and light snow falling in the lehigh valley but heavier snow is moving through south jersey and it will be moving off shore, within the next hour or so. philadelphia visibility is improving, immensely, area roads are still snow covered but please ab wear of that. south jersey seeing some heavy band of snow, about a half an inch an hour in cape may county and also sussex county delaware. we will be seeing that lighting up as well. courtney katz sent in this beautiful picture of rittenhouse square in the snow months prettier late this afternoon, it is going to be a very pretty night

especially inside looking out. here is our latest snow fall accumulations, in philadelphia, we have about four or 5 inches, recorded so far, we need an update on that. in ardmore 9.5. bala cynwyd nine. coatsville eight. abington eight. bethlehem over five. in new jersey marlton 8 inches riverton, right by the the delaware 7.9. cherry hill seven. pitman 6 inches. estelle manor 5.5 and you are still snowing. newark, 7.1. magnolia five. smyrna 4.5. and in dover, we need an updated report, last report was only half inch. you can see snowfall this season in philadelphia 20.3 inches. an update needed we still need that official reading from the airport. in boston, 105.7. it paleness comparison but this was the the biggest snowfall of our season. it could very well be the last one. right now in philadelphia allentown, 20 in the poconos, 13. skies will clear and

temperatures will plunge overnight. they will plunge to new record. you can see a sharp contrast from all of the snow and cold, even through nashville through west virginia and virginia, to the south, look at south caroline 71, raleigh-durham 36. over the course of the day a 40-degree temperature difference within one state. you can see our area have of low pressure culprit of the snow moving away but behind it, an arctic high moves back in. hopefully the last arctic out break. now we are looking at highs tomorrow only in the 20's and then we will warm it up, as we work our way through the the weekend. overnight skies will clear record cold, we will go for a low of 9 degrees, the record is ten. tomorrow mostly sunny, frigid high of 26. so the snow will be melting by the sunshine but not by the temperatures. you still to have dig out the sidewalk and dig out the car. here are our record lows for tomorrow. we will tie record in trenton. we will beat witt a record low of four in allentown. new record in atlantic city of nine. aim in philadelphia in wilmington we are expecting a new record of 10 degrees.

"eyewitness news" reporter charlotte huffman is live in south philadelphia with some do's and a don't's for us, charlotte. >> reporter: chris and jessica in south philadelphia in the only do they put lawn chairs to reserve their spots in the street, they park in the middle of the street. but when it snows, there are some rules to follow. >> what is winter without a little bit of snow. it is awesome. >> reporter: with the snow comes snow etiquette. city of philadelphia requires you salt sidewalks as soon as light accumulation develops. clear a 3-foot patton sidewalks within six hours, after snow stops falling and refrain from and blowing in the street. and not only, hazard to pedestrians but illegal too and carries a fine of 50 to a hundred dollars per violation. police and l and i are not actively patrolling for people blowing or shoveling snow in the streets but tell us, it is officers see violators they will ticket them. >> did you know thaw are not

right on the off ramp from 422 westbound a dump truck has fallen over in the ditch here. two tow trucks and police office on the scene as well, and closking that off ramp. we will pass that for the time being on 202 southbound. over on the ben franklin bridge, no volume to speak of and, definitely a good thing and speed are down 25 miles an hour speed restriction there is. for rest of the area bridges 25 miles an hour for tack pal, burlington bristol walt 25 and betsy 35 miles an hour. be careful out there stay there we will be right back.
