"eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer has more on this neat partnership between drexel university and tech girls and it the aims to change all. that nicole, great program. >> it really is. here's the thing. research shows girls are as interested in technology as boys are, up until high school but by the time they helped off to college they have decided to pursue other fields. once they enter the working world they turn away from technology. a as two mentioned two local groups are taking steps to reverse that trend. >> at drexel university this may look like your typical computer class but come closer and you will see these girls are gaming, test launching a game designed curriculum for schools, students nationwide. >> our goal it is to have more and more young girls and young women get interested

going in the tech industry n my case gaming industry. >> reporter: digital media professor doctor frankly teamed up with tech girls a program that gives middle and high school age students hand on experience with technology. >> there is gaming programming, using robotics, and so many other pieces of technology that are happening today, it is an important part of future careers and the economy. so we need to encourage more girls to be participants. >> reporter: in this group it was an easy sell. >> because we can do it too and it is really fun. >> boys should president be the only one programming and making video games. >> i mean it is great that they are boys but we're girls and we want to do this stuff too. >> reporter: on this stuff they tested out program and provided feed back for these teams. >> the girls are actually helping us on it and creating new curriculum around two part gaming design program and what we are trying to do is to see if what we have put together

traffic and weather together on the the three's in just a bit but first if you think boston has got a lot of snow this winter it is nothing compared to a village in italy. they got 100 inches in, one day. 100 inches of snow? a day. that is more than 8 feet of snow. we're still waiting for meteorologist to confirm that total 100 inches which would shatter one day snowfall record which was set in colorado but in one day. >> my lord. >> have you ever seen anything like that. >> i'm trying to dot math a head and 24 hours in a day, you have to have snowfall rates of 4 inches per hour all day long. generally when we talking about heavy snowfall in band, maybe an inch or two an an hour and that is heaviest we will get. i cannot imagine a hundred inches in one day. that is insane.
