report roar the pain of not knowing what happened to her older sister weighs heavily on this woman. >> every day i'm wake up and i'm wonder wrack my sister is at. 26-year-old erika crippen is dead police believe and they insist her husband kyle crosby killed her. problem they can't find a body. crosby is behind bars chargeed with murder and police say his mother 67-year-old joe crosby helped her son cover it up. >> this is how we always new. we already knew she had something to do with it. >> police arrested the 67 year year old at her sicklerville home. detectives say she tampered with evidence and quote played a major role in helping her son kyle conceal the crime of murder. >> this is a bad thing a really bad thing. >> debra lives across the street and says she's closely fold the case. we spoke to her just moments after she learned about the arrest. >> i feel sorry for the family. i really do. it's not a good thing at all to

be going through. >> reporter: we knock on the crosby's door to get her side of the story. no answer. family members say the last time they heard from erika crippen was on december 30th just before she went to dinner with her hub kyle at his pj whelihan whelihan's in cherry hill. >> it's been too long. i don't think god can see our family hurt any more than we already are. >> she believes joe crosby's arrest is a step in the right direction. >> i want my family to rest so i can bury my sister and this can be over. i'm tired of it. >> reporter: reporting in burlington county, david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> two people were injured in an accident at the height of the evening rush hour. chopper three over sick 76 southbound near morgan avenue in camden. a couple of tractor trailers here that collided with a pickup truck. one person was trapped hadn't to be cut from this wreckage but their injuries were minor. the accident has in you been cleared and traffic is flowing once again. after a taste of spring

weather, get ready. we're in for a dramatic drop in temperature. meteorologist kathy orr is live outside on the cbs3 sky deck where it's comfortable now but kathy tomorrow will be quite colder. tomorrow at this time it is going to be brutal. it will be winter like between now and then though temperatures will be on the rise. it is going to be a very change changeable situation for st. patrick's day. take a look at storm scan3 right now mild air working its way in and most of this precipitation not making it to the ground a few sprinkles at best. the clouds have already rolled in to the delaware valley. right now it's 46 in philadelphia. 43 in reading. 44 in wilmington. so temperatures fairly uniform from north to south. but look to the south of us. in richmond 59. 59 in pittsburgh. even in cleveland it is 58 degrees. so the warmth is coming. tomorrow morning in philadelphia, we'll start the clock off at 7am we'll have a southwesterly wind the temperature will be 42. watch what happens by noon. we're up to 60 along the i-95 corridor. through philadelphia and

wilmington. 62 in millville. 50 in allentown. but northwest winds kick in with a cold front and by 7:00 p.m. we're down into the 30s and the 40s. big changes coming our way and after that, all eyes on a developing storm that will bring rain and even a chance of wet snow for friday. yes, in some spots it could accumulate. we'll talk about the possibilities and the limiting facts to this coming up later in the broadcast with that seven day forecast. >> okay, big changes ahead. kathy, thank you very much. two philadelphia firefighter firefighters are recovering tonight after they suffered a shock on the job. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live for us outside of temple university hospital where one of those fireman men is still being treated. todd? >> reporter: that's right chris that. one firefighter remains here tonight with third degree burns to his feet and he'll be kept here at least overnight as he's been admitted into the burn unit. in a frightening turn a relatively minor fire became a major incident two philadelphia

firefighters were shocked as they attempted to put away a 35-foot aluminum ladder. the ladder hit a power line, seriously injuring robert taylor. a 14 year veteran. >> he went from holding the latter position to his body just straightened up and stiffened up and he fell right back. >> reporter: protective gear fell firefighter eugene colter a nine year veteran could be seen outside temple university hospital where both firefighters were brought. >> very frightening close call. i talk to both members and they said exactly the same thing. routine fire. taking down a ladder which they do on a daily basis and they both shocked. >> reporter: two men from ladder 14 were responding to a house fire on the 2400 block of norris street in north philadelphia where they were injured. the fire was limited to just the second floor and quickly brought under control before 10:00 o'clock monday morning. >> overhead weiss are always a safety concern. >> an instructor in the fire science program at montgomery county and philadelphia county

community colleges. also as a former battalion chief in the philadelphia fire department he contends firefighters have a few feet to work with in between homes and power lines when they are bringing down ladders. >> i think these guys were very fortunate. obviously, in terms of their injuries were relatively minor. it could have been more catastrophecatastrophic. >> colter has been treat and released from temple university hospital. and he's at home right now recovering. as for the cause from that fire this morning that remains under investigation. reporting live tonight from north philadelphia, todd quinones cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> todd, thank you very much. the search continues for a suspect after a stabbing on the campus of lasalle university today. it happened just before 2:00 in a bathroom at the blue and gold dining commons. the campus was locked down for a short time. the victim is deliveryman for the jack and jill ice cream company. he is hospitalized but his wounds are not life threatening.

some breaking news. we have learned about allegations of improper conduct involving two temple university football players. this reported happened at off campus location in january. it's unclear what the alleged improper conduct was but the university says it is cooperating with police. the two students have been suspended from football team activities while that investigation continues. a gloucester county teacher faces charges to night accuse of photographing students in what police call their private areas while in school. police arrested 37-year-old adam mayer of washington township friday. mayer who teaches english at the gloucester county institute of technology is now behind bars on thee hundred thousand dollars bail. police are in the process of identifying all possible victims victims. we have learned tonight another student at a montgomery county high school has whooping cough. that brings the number of cases at souderton area high school to two. the health depth has declared the school to be an outbreak

disease. stress tests are done while a patient exercises and doctors say they can expose patients to radiation, trigger a bad reaction or problems during exercise. the american college of physicians is encouraging doctors to focus on risk factor that is patient can change including smokeing, diabetes and obesity. also on the health watch tonight when hearing hurts. it is no secret that exposure to loud noises can cause hearing loss. but some loss can occur even when there's no noise trauma and it can lead to long-term discomfort even pain. our health reporter stephanie stahl has more. >> reporter: for george rue every day sounds are unbearable. >> squeaky door hirshs hirshes. any type of fork on a plate like microscopic needles shooting in my eardrums. >> linda has trouble with louder noises. >> i won't say painful. it's not painful but it was just um, made me feel like high to cover my ears. roar roar the discomfort level

is different but george and linda suffer from the same thing thing. hyper accuse sis. >> basically you think of hyper means excessive and accuse sis means sound it's an excess tiff response to sound. >> reporter: that can range from sensitivity to even physical pain in extreme cases the condition can lead to depression and anxiety. >> they can essentially become her mitts or shut in because they cannot tolerate even the simplest sound. >> reporter: it's estimated about 8% of the population has hyper akisis some causes include exposure to loud noise certain inflammatory or infectious diseases and sometimes that is no clear cause. >> most of us think it's a brain perception problem where the brain is hyper drpa vigilant and sensitive to sounds. research is being done to try to figure out the brain path ways that control hyper acui.

the changes come tomorrow. first a mild change but then turning much cooler in the wake of this as a cold front swings on through. now we have a storm system that is well to the west of us. we're talking about moisture that's coming from the pacific and that will be moving our way. redeveloping off the coast. take a look how things are going to be shaking off tomorrow. we'll start off with temperatures really mild at noon 62. after that cold front gusty winds out of the northwest will drive those temperatures down and the another afternoon in the 50's. by dinnertime in the 40s by the evening 38 degrees. and by midnight some 12 hours later, it will only be freezing so we're talking about a 30-degree temperature drop from noon to midnight. in just 12 hours. here's look what will happen. cold front moves on through. lunch time temperatures in the 60s. turn into temperatures in the 30s and 40s by the dinner hour. winds gusting to 30 even 35 miles an hour gusts so it will be a blustery night. during the day on wednesday sunshine temperatures in the 40s 40s.

thursday the same. with morning lows in the 30s and the 20s really not feeling much like spring and then tracking a storm system with moisture to the south. this system is going to redevelop off the mid atlantic as many storms have and it's going to be moving toward the northeast. this is the european model a little bit further to the east but you can see to the north and west of the city especially the possibility of snow. but we do have limiting factors. we have a very strong march sun angle. we have a lack of arctic air. no arctic air present it will be moving in during the afternoon so with ground temperatures above freezing and air temperatures above freezing it's questionable if it's going to stick at first we're not going to be seeing a lot of snow snow. but you can be seeing isn't during the day on friday. overnight, mostly cloudy the low 46. during the day tomorrow, for saint patrick day mild midday and then turning much colder with a cold front with gusty winds on the seven day forecast you can see we keep it cool wednesday and thursday. that rain and snow possible on friday as spring officially
