>> tonight at 11:00 a young mother missing since january. now the tragic discovery her body found bound and buried under brush and tonight we're hearing how police finally got a break in the case. good evening i'm jessica dean. chris may has the night off. high tech crime fighting tools helped investigators find erica crippen her body was discovered in sykesville maryland. that's about 140 miles from where she was last seen in cherry hill, new jersey. spunt is live in mt. laurel with the latest tonight. david? >> reporter: jessica the crippens understandably have many mixed emotions after this afternoon's news but what many people have in their every day car is what helped detectives crack this case. >> i'm not at peace because you know, my -- he took somebody away from me. >> reporter: crippen took a deep breath when detectives told her they found her older sister's body. >> i lost my mother. i lost my grandmother and now i lost my older sister. >> reporter: after months of the unknown police found 26-year-old erica crippen's body aunt blanket in the woods near a rural maryland farms. her hand and feet were tied with electrical cord her mouth and nose covered with duct tape. >> how can any person do this to somebody? i don't understand it. i just don't. you don't do something like that to people and think you can get away with. >> reporter: police arrested her husband kyle crosby back in january and charged him with murder. since then, detectives have been looking for her body and finally

found it because of something kyle left inside his car. >> gps device had about 8,600 i'll use the term bread crumbs that were logged into that device. >> reporter: they were coordinates recorded by the gps unit. investigators determined that crosby had spent a lengthy period of time on a road in sykesville maryland, and that's where they found crippen's body on tuesday. on monday, authorities arrested crosby's 67-year-old mother jo for tampering with evidence. police have not gone into detail but she was released on bond. now, crippen says she can probably say goodbye to her sister and help take care of the two little girls erica left behind. >> god will keep us level headed right now because this is such a messed up situation. >> reporter: the investigation began two months ago here at the mt. laurel police department. kyle crosby is hyped bars not far from where i'm standing on a $1.2 million bail. family members insist the couple was fighting over money before

erica was killed. we are live in burlington county david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". all right david. thank you. there are developments to night in the murder of a man shot to death while walking his dog in overbrook. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live at philadelphia police headquarters with new information on this investigation. todd? >> reporter: jessica a 14-year-old who was a person of interest was being questioned here by detectives in connection to that murder. also this evening we were out in west philadelphia right near 65th and girard avenue. that's where detectives as well as members of the philadelphia crime seen unit were out. they were searching a home there again at 65th and girard avenue. they were looking for any kind of evidence or clues that could possibly be connected to thursday's murder. 51-year-old james stoleman was shot and killed why walking his dog in his overbrook neighborhood. that shooting happened just before 9:00 o'clock at night. police believe that as many as

three suspects could have been involved in that shooting. investigators believe the shooting may have began actually as an attempted robbery on the 6400 block of woodcrest avenue. stoleman and funeral was this morning. he leaves behind a wife and a 10-year-old daughter. investigators are also reviewing surveillance cameras in the area to try and get a clearer picture of the suspects but as of right now, still no no one has been charged in connect to the murder. reporting 35 night from police headquarters in center city todd quinones cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> todd, thank you. well even though spring is on the horizon we have our eye on a winter storm tonight. meteorologist kathy orr tracking snow headed toward the area. kathy, what's next? >> well we're talking about cold, jessica. right now skies are clear winds have diminished and we're looking at snow by friday morning. right now the storm is really getting its act together drawing moisture from the gulf of mexico and heading into colder terrain. right now the temperature in

philadelphia 38. 28 in millville. 23 in the poconos. 28 degrees in reading and look the wind is calm and that will allow temperatures to fall very quickly overnight into the 20s and all eyes on our developing area of low pressure encounter cold air and we will see snow coming in friday morning. that snow will be accumulating on the grassy surfaces at first. it will be slippery during the midday period some slow travel and we are expecting some areas to see a change over to rain from south to north. the question is, how far north does that rain get? the farther north the less snow. right now we're looking at accumulations. we'll talk more about how much you should expect friday coming up with the seven day forecast when i join you a little bit later on in the broadcast. we'll have that snowfall map. jess, can't believe we're doing this again. >> i can't either. we'll see in you a bit. thanks. a live look at the westbound 676 on ram from that chopper three. a tractor trailer overturned near the base of the ben

franklin bridge. it's full of produce being off loaded before crews can up right that truck. traffic is being diverted off the fifth street exit so keep that in mind. fortunately no one injured. chopper three over trenton city hall where a van went out of control and ended up on the steps. this happened just after 6:00 o'clock. we do know the driver of this van was taken to the hospital. but it is unclear why that driver lost control. and administrators say early morning air quality tests will determine schools in paulsboro will be open tomorrow. paulsboro high school today more than a dozen students and staff got sick. they were overcome by fumes. the paulsboro refinery which is near that school says a leak in a tank containing a liquid hydrocarbon mixer called nasa caused the smell. those had got sick were taken to the april sir rah medical center in woodbury. we talked to one parent who got frantic call from her daughter. >> mom the emergency dismissing

us and need you to come pick me. >> the smell was worse than the other two days and kids are fainting in the classroom. >> the high school did close early due to that incident. other schools were not affected but air will be testified again in all paulsboro schools tomorrow morning. a terrifying bus ride for west philadelphia students when their driver gets lost, takes them off course and out of the city. that bus left the mastery charter school at 53rd and berks this afternoon and wound up at west chester pike and new street in upper darby. police found the bus after a driver called 911 to report the children were at the window screaming for help. that bus driver was disoriented and taken to the hospital. >> this is a substitute bus driver for that route. so that added to, i believe the reason why he was lost. clearly according to police was disorient the and confused.

>> the students are safe. they are back at home now and we're trying to figure out what happened to the bus driver and why he got lost. >> no word on that bus driver's condition tonight. new tonight the union representing philadelphia police officers makes a big endorse many for mayor. only "eyewitness news" was there tonight as the fraternal order of police hosted a candidates' forum. democrats jim ken nearing anthony hardy williams, lynne abraham and nel see diaz were among the candidates seeking support from the fop. and when it was all over the fop voted to endorse kenny. >> electing our boss most likely the neck eight years. so we thought it was important enough to bring everybody together, call a special meeting, have each of the candidates come, address our membership and to have a ballot vote to do it the fairway. >> the other three candidates did not appear at the forum tonight. investigators tonight are looking for the cause of this big apartment fire in northeast

philadelphia. you saw it live last night on "eyewitness news". and those flames left many people homeless. crews spent the day tearing down the charred rubble of rita' grace manor on academy road. that fire quickly spread leaving about 100 people homeless. and many are stepping up to help with donations and assistance. nearby abraham lincoln high school is offering temporary shelter and lodging for those displaced. police are asking for the public's help to solve a nearly month old murder in philadelphia. take look at the surveillance video. it is from a laundromat on south 53rd street. on february 19th a suspect wearing a philadelphia water department jacket walk into that laundromat and opened fire. shooting 25-year-old eric norman to death. anyone with information is asked to contact police. former congresswoman gabrielle giffords brings her campaign against gun violence to new jersey. she met with lawmakers at the state house in trenton. she urged them to pass tougher

laws to protect women and families from gun violence. giffords was wounded during a shooting rampage in tucson in 2011 and has since become a gun control activist. new jersey veteran accused of of trying to join isis appeared in a new york federal court today. former air force mechanic tehran pew pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges. court documents say he flew from cairo egypt to istanbul turkey in january. u.s. investigators believe his plan was to cross into syria and fight with isis. but officials in turkey became suspicion and sent him back to egypt where he was deported to the united. pew is from neptune, monmouth county. 19 people are confirm dead tonight after gunmen stormed a museum in tunisia's capital. this drama unfolded live on tunisian television much police and security teams could be seen helping people run for cover and some social media postings showed museum guest huddled against walls. police were eventually able to

>> deadly ewing gas explosion leads to the largest fine ever issued by the new jersey board

of utilityies. pse&g and subcontractor hin kills and mccoy must pay $1.6 million for safety violations that led to the explosion last march. investigators say workers digging at the south fork development struck a gas line but never called 911 to report the leak. linda sarah telly was killed in that blast. hertz is one of the biggest names in the car rental business and the company says it's putting cameras in some of its vehicles. hertz is adding a camera to its in car navigation system which is called never lost. the company says the camera could one day be used for video conferencing or other applications. these cameras are now in one out of every eight of hertz vehicles. but they're not yet active. >> made a lot of sense to us to install the hardware now in this generation rather than discover maybe a year from now that, hey video conferencing is something people want. >> some experts say the cameras could be used to invade the privacy of unsuspecting drivers.

hertz says customers uncomfortable with the system will be given the option of choosing a different car. on the health watch researchers are testing a drug that could be the first new treatment for alzheimer's disease in a decade. the university of pennsylvania and abington hospital are part of this clinical trial. researchers hope the drug t817ma could slow the progression of this disease. it's designed to protect against loss of nerve cells in the brain. around 5 million americans over the age of 65 have alzheimer's disease. there's no cure and the treatments are limited. from washington, d.c. tonight we have new video of british royalty. this is prince charles and camilla the duchess of cornwall arriving at a private party in the nation's capitol. this party was to thank donors and supporters of the prince of wales us foundation. charles and camilla are on a four day trip to the us and earlier today the royal couple

got a tour of mount vernon the home of george washington. power posing much the secret to feeling competent and more self assured may not be in your head after all. new research shows if you want to feel strong and in control it could be as simple as strike striking a pose. health reporter stephanie stahl shows us. report. >> you're standing tall. your chest open. >> reporter: sonya is striking a power pose. >> it's really making you feel more dominant. >> reporter: she's practicing the wonder woman pose and she says while she may not acquire wonder woman's super powers, after just two minutes she feels more in command. >> i feel a lot calmer. i feel a lot more confident kind of like giving yourself a pep talk without verbally talking to yourself. a new study claims power posing changes the body's chem tree increasing testosterone by 20% aft two minutes and reduceing stress hormone. the result, those who posed acted more assertively and felt

like stressed. >> at first it feels awkward. >> reporter: researchers identified other power poses. this one is call the obama. it's a pose similar to the one the president favors. another is called the performer. named after a pose frequently struck by mick jagger. >> so tied up with dominance and power and confidence. >> reporter: psychologist adam gillen ski says they all have something in common that leads to changes in behavior. body language. >> the poses all involve some type of making the body expanded expanded out longer wider taller. >> reporter: power posing is routinely practiced by women at the grace institute a job training center. women here say they hope the poses will give them an edge during job interviews. >> i think it's a great way to build confidence. >> my pose make me feel very big and strong. >> reporter: research indicates the effects of a power pose are short lived some say it could be a first step toward permanent positive change.

winds are light and temperatures are falling fast across the region. on storm scan3 not a cloud in the sky. the clouds moving through the tennessee valley heading our way and guess what? precipitation is not that far away. we're talking about 575 miles away. not that far at all and conditions are going to continue to deteriorate by tomorrow night night. that snow will not be moving in until friday morning. that is the good news. our "eyewitness weather" watchers are saying yes, it is cold out here. but at least there's no more wind. so we're not talking about wind chills. take look at these numbers. we have 30s, we have 20s. we'll take a zoom in and some locations how about near bristol, 31 degrees being reported in pennsylvania. william is teague saying in levittown 31. the pressure is on the rise. 28 degrees right now in the horsham area. barbara is saying in willow grove no wind 28 degrees on the cold side and we'll take it a little bit further to the south.

how about over here in wilmington where the temperature is 31 degrees. greg is saying 31 in marshaltown, delaware. the barometric pressure is rising. blustery windy day with bright sunshine but now clear and cold. well right now in philadelphia at international airport down to 38. it's 33 degrees as you look at millville. 23 degrees in the poconos and in our suburbs with no wind pottstown, quakertown already down to 27 degrees. so high pressure will dominate the weather tomorrow. we start off in the 20s. temperatures will rise into the 40s with plenty of sunshine but then here we go. low pressure to the south moves into some cold air. we see snow accumulating on the grassy surfaces especially at the start. so you won't notice the accumulation that much. treated roads they will just be wet. now, future weather shows the snow moving in from the south and the west. you see rain through south jersey where it's still warm. after the 9:00 o'clock hour, we see some rain in south jersey some snow to the north and west.

right around noon and then a little batch of snow moving through in the afternoon. still rain to the south. and then it moves out by about 7:00 o'clock with rain making it into philadelphia and the i-95 corridor. snow amounts well work to 4-inches avenue slushy accumulation to the north and we have. the poconos -- to with colder temperatures four to sick inches of snow. along that i-95 corridor one to 2-inches and then of course less than an inch a coating to an inch through south jersey and central delaware. overnight clear with light winds low 28 in the city. colder in the suburbs already. during the day tomorrow 45 and with less win it's going to feel really comfortable on the exclusive weather seven day forecast a sloppy day on friday. the morning commute will get through at least half of that. but by the evening skill still seeing rain and wet snow. saturday looks pretty decent. sunday turning colder. ditto for monday and tuesday. wednesday the temperature back to 50 degrees. march has been a fickle month. we've gone from cold to mild to cold and i'm hoping we end the
