"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live at septa headquarters with more on those ads todd. >> reporter: chris, you will start seeing those ads on the sides of septa buses beginning next week those ads will be on 84 septa buses and ads will run for four weeks. the ads include images of hitler and read islamic jew hatred is in the quran and like it or not anti islamic ads are coming to septa. today transit authority said it will in the peel a federal

so far philadelphia is 67. in millville 62 degrees. in philadelphia we are at 65 with clouds. allentown 51. sixty-five in reading and lancaster. sixty-nine in wilmington. we can see the cold front to the west, 43 degrees in state college, that is a 22-degree differential to philadelphia. seventy-six in washington. 75 degrees right new in richmond. they are really in the warmth. you can see sunshine breaking out in the philadelphia area but to the west some showers and thunderstorms marching right through harrisburg moving fairly quickly toward the philadelphia area. severe threat is low but you can see risk area to the north and west of some gusty wind heavy rain and, of course, included to ground lightening. for this he can through about 8:00 o'clock a few spotty showers. it will be mild. after 8:00 heavy rain gusty wind and thunderstorms. after 10:00 o'clock just lingering showers and temperatures will plunge. coming up we will talk about how cold it will get in the

wake of these storms and chance have of snow showers again believe it or not. i'll see you later with the seven day. >> an explosion ripped through four build initial in manhattan's east village shortly after 3:00. we know 12 people were injured in the blast three of them are in critical condition. a fire broke out and quickly escalated to seven alarms bringing close to 250 fire fighters to that scene. this rid ohio is courtesy of our sister station wcbs and people in the aftermath of that explosion. new york city's in mayor bill deblasio spoke a short while ago on the cause of the explosion. >> preliminary evidence suggest a gas-related explosion. that investigation is ongoing. the initial impact appears to have been cause by plumbing and gas work that was other curing inside 1,212th avenue. >> reporter: e mergecy responders are still on the scene and we will of course update if you more information becomes available.

well, more and more dramatic details are emerging about the germanwings plane crash as officials now believe it was a deliberate act. german pilot andreas lubitz was alone at the the controls of the plane when it plunged in the french alps on tuesday. all 150 people on board were killed. cockpit voids recordings now show that lubitz lock the captain out of the cockpit after he left to use the bathroom. lubitz then manually set that plane on a dissent. the captain can be heard pound ing on the cockpit door trying to get back inside. as "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff tells us tonight the the tragedy is raising a host of new questions about airline security. >> reporter: in 2002, new regulations required airlines to strengthen doors between passengers and pilots. the the idea then was to keep danger outside of the cockpit. now the the question is, what if it is inside. >> i think if there was ever a time when procedures needed to be change it was now when 150

people are dead. >> reporter: arthur wolk is an attorney and aviation expert. he said if one pilot leaves the flight deck another crew member must step in at least in the you had since 9/11. >> there has to be some would be else there to make sure that no one does something untoward and better yet that the airplane itself doesn't do something that a single pilot can't control. >> reporter: as soon as tomorrow several overseas airlines promised to implement the same two person cockpit rule including germanwings. do you believe if there was a second person, flight attendant that there would have been a different outcome. >> it could have prevented it. flight attend ants are taught to use whatever physically affect they have to stop a terrorist. they could stop somebody in the airplane from preventing the door from opening. >> reporter: wolk says pilots are per septembertive but personal issues are tough to screen. calming nerves, maybe aviation's next big hurdle.

"eyewitness news" what the at sweet lucy a's restaurant as they pledged to donate half of the proceed to the family of officer wilson and today we have learn that they raised a total of $14,205. on the cbs-3 healthwatch today there is new hope for recently discover form of epilepsy that strikes only girls. it is often misdiagnosed and it is very difficult to treat. >> health reporter stephanie stahl is here with more on this being designated purple day and raising awareness for epilepsy. >> it is. there are many forms of epilepsy. it kills more people every year then breast cancer. most of the time it can be control with medications but not always. while this purple day has special meaning for one delaware county family. four year-old kayla take already loves to ride her bike even in the house on cold rainy days. he she has a rare condition that appeared out of no where two years ago when she started having seizures.

for weeks doctors could not figure out what was wrong. they thought he had meningitis or rabies. she was in a medically induced coma and put on high doses of three anti seizure medications that caused trembling that can a sometimes look like seizures. it was a very, very hard breaking. >> reporter: susan taylor says her little girl was finally diagnosed with pcdh19 female epilepsy a genetic condition that strikes only girls. it is marked by cluster seizures and can sometimes come with developmental or cognitive issues. kayla has a twin brother and older sister who are fine. >> it was shocking. >> reporter: female epilepsy was home recently discovered in 2008 as many young girls are of miss diagnosis. >> they are suffering, the families are suffering. >> reporter: julie walters with the a alliance say purple day is an important day to raise awareness. >> we have talk to neurologist and they have not heard of the condition. they don't necessity bit. they are not testing for it. >> reporter: female epilepsy is drug resistant.

and reading by 7:11. at that speedy expect these storms to be in philadelphia along i-95 corridor by 9:00 o'clock at the very latest. that is what we expect here. ahead of these storms our eyewitness weather watchers are reporting wind from the south sustained at 20 miles an hour and very warm temperatures. we will start off in the south where you can see in delaware we are seeing our warmer numbers. we will go to middletown where the temperature is 73 degrees. jason reporting in that strong wind out of the southwest with plenty of sunshine. lets see what he says, absolutely beautiful outside. yes, of course. contrast that with places like the the shore where we are seeing some cool temperatures. near atlantic city and ocean city some cloud and showers. the temperature is 63. we have a little rain to talk b margot says yes it is still on the comfortable side there. 67 degrees near cherry hill with some sunshine some clouds but really reporting in a nice day with the south east

win at 12 miles an hour. take a look outside because right new we are seeing clearing on the horizon which is pretty. this is a view from campbell's field. we have clear skies but behind that, we are going to be seeing some storms before we finally clear it out every where late tonight. visibility reduced in the poconos where we still have the snow pack, elsewhere visibility is quite good and in the an issue tonight. time it out with the future weather a line of of storms by 8:00 in the suburbs. by 9:00 o'clock right through philadelphia with showers, thunderstorms and gusty wind. by the time it moves in south jersey it breaks up. then low pressure develops along this front and tags more moisture through overnight and if it is cold enough through lehigh valley early tomorrow morning perhaps a few wet snow flakes mixing in, with a few rain drops. that would be early tomorrow morning. this evening though showers and thunderstorms up to a half inch of rain. ponding on area roads. we have that wrist objecting have cloud on group lightening
