before the rain got started later in the morning. so now we're up on the dock tote end up with some soaking conditions, see all of the activity just behind me here. we take storm scan3 full screen. when you have it lit up like this with yellow, orange, you know you have pretty heavy rainfall intensity coming in, just northwest of the i95 corridor here, there are pockets say the northeast extension, the pa turnpike, where you are getting doused right now. this is actually an area of low pressure sort of redeveloped on the tail end of the frontal boundary, so not necessarily the front still trying to cross through rather, it is just the moisture that's left over since we had the energy to work with to create that additional area of low pressure now again some of those showers are coming down steadily and heavily as we speak. but we should start to see things ease up on the radar and also, when it comes to the wind. eventually, it is cloudy, cooler as the rest of the day goes on, but at least initially, you still need that umbrella for sure. 36 degrees the current temperature at least sorry how it feels right now because we're factoring in the wind with these values, so it

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo is live at special victims unit with the very latest jan? >> reporter: nicole, good morning. police say both of these suspects are now under arrest, and here at the special victims unit going through processing this morning of course accused of that rape and robbery in port richmond overnight. and, to make matters worse police say both every these suspects are teenagers under the age of 18. a terrifying night for a young woman, just walking home from the gym in port richmond. police say she was raymond at gunpoint, and robbed, by two teenagers, who left their victim with a threat before leaving the scene. >> the males who committed this crime stated to her point of gun that if they --

if she called the police, or told anyone, including her family that they would find her and kill her and also kill her family. >> happened just after 11:00 thursday night richmond street. police arrived after someone reported screams in the area. the victim was able to describe both of her attackers, and police start today search. they found one teenage suspect, just couple of blocks away, on richmond. police found the second suspect half mile away on east butler street. after arrests the young woman id her attackers. >> in addition to being positively identified, by the female victim, both of the suspects had in their possession items that were taken from the female during the robbery. she was -- it was a very violent crime very haneous crime. >> and police also say there are a lot of businesses in this area with a lot of surveillance cameras, they are hoping video will help tie up

this case, but meantime, again, they say this victim has positively identified both of these teenage suspects, and her stolen property found on them, as well. reporting live outside of special victims, jan carabeo cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. two people are dead this morning after robbery that went wrong last night in west philadelphia. police say two suspect tried to rob two menace they walked home on the 5400 block of media street. one of the victims hads a license to carry and pulled out his own gun opened fire, and shot the two robbers. then, one of the robbers returned fire and shot one of the robbery victims. all three were taken to the hospital where two later died. the third is still hospitalized in stable condition. we have more breaking news for you right now. a septa bus driver finds a little birth in the rain in the middle of the night next to a bus stop. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at st. christopher areas hospital with more on this story. justin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, yes, that's right that driver

did step in and help save that child from these conditions out hire this morning. that four year old girl and her mother, we understand, have been brought back together here at saint christopher's hospital just a short time ago. this after a two-hour effort to find that girl's family, and find her home. let's take to you video now that septa driver found her at the 56 stop at torresdale avenue and magee street. he stayed with her on that bus until police arrived. it is unclear just how long she was out there in this rain by herself. now, from there police took her into one of their vehicles, and cruised the area trying to find her home and trying to find her family, as well. they focused on stretches of levick, robbins, and jackson streets there is morning. let's bring you back out live here. they went from the area to here to the hospital where that mother was tracked down and brought together with her daughter. we understand she was found safely, not injured just very wet, in this cold rainout here, and no word on any charges yet that may be involved in this case. we are live outside st. christopher's, i'm justin

finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank youment also, following a developing story right now, a possible abduction in fairmount park. it reportedly happened on sedgley drive just before 3:00 yesterday afternoon. police say an eyewitness called about seeing a woman being forced into the trunk of a car. that car is described as a dark blue pontiac grand prix, with partial tag of jt. that car was last seen going westbound on girard, toward kelly drive if you know anything about this, you are asked to call police. this morning, crews are starting to demolish three buildings, rocked by massive gas explosion yesterday. at least 19 people were injured, four critically. the fire could be seen for miles and spread to other buildings nearby. at least one of the structures was destroyed. the explosion is believed to be caused by natural gas and plumbing bourque. we will have a live report from that scene coming up in less than ten minutes. >> investigators have gone

through the apartment and parents' home of the co-pilot of the germanwings flight that crashed into the french alps on tuesday looking for evidence on why he would intentionally crash their plane. officials say a cockpit voice recorder shows andre us lubitz locked the pilot off the out cockpit after he went to the rest room. he then sent the plane into a dive into the alps. pounding on the door could be heard as passengers scream. they don't believe it is linked to terrorism or politics. >> we have learned a second american on board that plane has local ties. yvonne selke then known as yvonne carlo, graduated from springfield high school in delaware count any 1975. one of her friends says she's going to miss her at their 40th annual class reunion in october. >> tough getting older but then, with this horrific situation, i mean, i can't even fathom. >> her daughter em lee also

>> crews demolish three buildings rock by a gas explosion. three people injured yesterday, four critically, now, reports, that one man could be missing. cbs news reporter don champion in new york bourque with the very latest thon situation, don, good morning. >> good morning, erika about block away from where that explosion happened. but as you can see up on my shoulder firefighters remain on the scene. we can also hear demolition crews doing some work at this hour. as you mentioned overnight we did learn that a man has been reported missing family members say he was inside a restaurant when that explosion happened. investigators now believe faulty utility work may have led to this gas explosion and fire, in manhattan's east village neighborhood. video recorded by a witness shows, the immediate chaos after the explosion rocked several buildings. firefighters worked well into the night thursday, pouring

water on hot spots. >> i felt like a big shake heard allowed noise and then heard like car alarm go off. >> witnesses rushed to help victims who were laying in the street, one man even climbed up a ladder to help a woman get out of the building. >> i know a man unconscious barely conscious in the street. and another man with a laceration across his eye some pretty bad injuries. >> in all, 19 people were hurt, one man a 23 year old may be missing family members say he was on a date, inside a sushi restaurant, in one of the collapsed buildings when the explosion happened. >> the explosion and fire were so intense, two buildings collapse the, third badly damaged, the building's housed apartments and stores on the ground floor. >> my belong was in that so just got to figure out i guess from there what's going to happen. >> it took about 250 firefighters get the blaze under control. >> now, family members say the man who is missing is nicholas figueroa. they say that they know he was

inside that sushi restaurant when the explosion happened. they checked his bank statement. meantime, we should mention that there was no gas leak reported before the explosion. erika? >> don champion for just new york, thank you. >> happening today amanda knox will find out if her murder conviction in italy will be upheld. knox spent four years in jail for killing her roommate back in 2007 before that conviction was overturned. appeals court found her guilty again last year. right now knox is in seattle. it is not clear if the united states would send her back to italy if that conviction is upheld. right now 5:13, we want to check in with katie with the latest on our friday forecast, good morning. >> overall, actually starting offer pretty dreary out there erika, we are tracking at least the final pieces of the puzzle with our storm system. there is a new little piece of energy that develops on the tail end of the front. that's helping to feed more moisture, which means we're not done with the rain just yet. but i also want to take you back in time here folks. we take a look at the month of

march thus far. temperatures, as you probably could guess have been below average. and substantially so. i mean, you are talking 4 degrees below average, and that may not sound like a heck of a lot. but that's a huge deal. that's a lot of cold air for the month of march. meanwhile, we have some serious winds going on, we flirted when 71, we drop down into the lower teens one morning, so it has been very cold, it has been pretty mild, but for more than anything it's been very cold. meanwhile, more tan average precipitation in the span of time, as well. still a lot of precipitation to add to the totals, we wrap up the month and right now heavy pockets of rain, notice, that there is some light lake enhanced snow falling. that's not going to reach us here necessarily. but it is a sign of the cold air that's sort of just wedging it way in. and as it does so, by tomorrow, we could actually end up with a flurry flying out there. meanwhile, here is a look at your area temperatures. currently low mid 40's, generally speaking, colder in the mountains, you can tell
