four fire fighters held captive by a gunman identified as former fire fighter paul jordan, in the basement of the lem theott fire station in cheltenham an ordeal that started an hour were and evened with helpful hi armed officers entered the firehouse. >> we received a call. did he fire one shot in the wall in the firehouse, of the le moth. >> no one was hurt and shortly after the suspect gave up without a fight. >> great guy. whole fire company. they are a great bunch of guys. they are all here, they are driven. they love the fire company. >> reporter: jordan was a veteran who up until three months ago work for salvation army. >> he was a fire fighter that was in dispute with the fire company up until yesterday. >> reporter: aaron greer got a front review to it all. >> are strange that this would happen in my neighborhood of all places, you know, not something i would expect again living here. >> reporter: community left feeling betrayed and confused as loved ones are relieved that their fire fighters

escaped danger. we do also now know that up -- that jordan did work for the philadelphia housing authority and has done so since january. he is currently in custody and awaiting a mental healthy valuation. reporting live from montgomery county tonight alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". breaking news police in montgomery county investigating after discovering two people dead. that investigation taking place on the 1100 block of country lane in lower moreland and that is where "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco joins with us breaking details, diana. >> reporter: jessica, just before 1:00 o'clock that discovery was made, bodies have two people were found inside this home on country lane. you can zoo a police car guarding the property here. the home cannot be seen from the road but police can be seen walking the property this afternoon, in chopper video shot by our chopper. friend and family tell us a well liked married couple

and plus right through the front of the salon charred of glass broken manicure care evidence of the terrible accident at cindy's nail in the 9800 block of bustleton avenue in the the north east. >> chaotic disaster. a couple of people, was on the floor. >> reporter: police say an eight two-year old driver attempting to park just outside salon's front door hit the accelerate the or by mistake. >> there are signs of accelerate inside the store which would be consistent with continually hitting the brake harder to stop the vehicle. >> reporter: tragically a customer said to be waiting for her daughter to pick her up was struck and then killed. police confirmed that the victim who died at the scene was wedged underneath that car. >> it is horrible. we are very friendly place for everyone here and i believe this is an accident. >> reporter: six people were inside when the the car came barreling through, three unhurt, two others suffered

new federal regulations for water heaters go in effect and they are design to make heaters much more efficient. >> while you will save money on energy cost you have to pay more up front. three on your side consumer reporter jim donovan has more. >> reporter: ever think much about your home water heater until something goes wrong. >> my roommate, my sister tried getting a bath and had no hot water. >> reporter: fit cannot be fix you have to get a new within pretty fast. >> can't go without hot the water. >> reporter: effective april 16th federal law requires all manufacturers to make most water heaters more efficient. larger the tank the the more

efficiency is required, the newer tanks are expected to cut utility bills by 25 to 50 percent depending on the technology used. but. >> the the tanks will get significantly larger and significantly more expensive. >> reporter: often boosting prices by hundred dollars or more. if you are replacing a water heat their holds less than 55 gallons the new one may be an inch or two larger and can be likely placed where older one was unless it was in a very tight spot such as a closet. if you are replacing a larger water heater you will need to do your homework as new units the may need more space. before making a perfect consult your plumber or contractor. now average water heater usually last between eight and ten years. nobody has to change what they currently have even though manufacturers are not allowed to make current models after april 16th cheaper water heaters can be sold until they run out. >> one of those things you don't think about until you
