"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from the sat center with the very latest information, jan, good morning. >> reporter: senator menendez has said that he was innocent and wow prove that. today he is facing a number of federal corruption charges including conspiracy, bribery and making false statements but last night he reiterated that he is innocent, will fight charges and in the end he will be vindicated. take a look at the video. menendez and solomon melgen a florida eye doctor were indicted in connection with the bribery scheme. justice department says

between january 2006 and yan 2013 menendez accepted close to one million-dollar in lavish gifts and campaign contributions from melgen in exchange for using power of his senate office to influence medicare billing disputes worth tense of millions to the doctor. investigators say among gifts were flights on melgen's private jet and vacations at melgen's villa in the dominican republic. they allege menendez took steps to support tourist and student visa applications of three of melgen's girlfriend. menendez called the charges politically motivated and said prosecutors have twisted his friendship with melgen into something improper. >> i am not going anywhere. i'm and gray. i'm angry and ready to fight because today contradicts my public service career and my entire life. >> in the meantime menendez has decided to temporarily step down from his role as top

can three all is calm quiet, barely a cloud in the skies and that has a allowed for moon lit skies. you have to look closely here but there in the distance moon is shining brightly. this ace i shot from our station headquarters in center city. i want to throw them overtop. 38 degrees is current temperature. nice and light south wind but that is the key here, wind is southerly. so that will allow temperatures even though they are starting off on a chilly note the here to moderate up, very, very easily and just a side note we will see that moon set in just about ten minutes if you want to catch a view before it goes over the horizon. meanwhile as it goes forward these temperatures start to rebound but wiz advise dressing in layers today. we will start off chilly. even despite the the sunshine, you know this late morning, 9:00 a.m. or so still only in the 40's but by noon we are flirting with 60. by three or 4:00 p.m. we have mid 60's. the wind will have easily started to kick in. but again, this just looks like a really nice day.

it has been such a long time since we have been able to report not just warmth but also sunshine. it feels like we had to deal with one or the other. that will not happen this time around. even eye this break while we have it. a quick check, temperatures surge, that will last us until tomorrow. rain moves into wrap up our workweek. things do get better for us come easter weekend vittoria. >> thanks very much, katie. good morning everyone. the right new roads are still very quiet. earlier we had action on i-95 and it was construction around girard avenue. now that construction is out of the way. they have managed to get rid of the cones. things have loosened up around that area of girard avenue. as we move now to 476 taking a look the a the blue route no delays in either direction. it doesn't matter where you are traveling to and from 95 to and from the schuylkill or to and from the mid county toll plaza which is where we are here. it is wide opened for you. traveling on the 42 freeway we are seeing a few headlights.

trans port to the hospital are under investigation and a autopsy is pending. police officers in glassboro gloucester county are now required to wear body cameras. >> officers gave us a firsthand look at these cameras. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us in studio with more, good morning. >> reporter: as of yesterday all uniform patrol officers in glassboro, new jersey will add those body cameras. new technology was select after a trial period where they evaluated several different manufacturers. all officers will be required to record contact with citizens, including motor vehicle stops and sealed interviews. "eyewitness news" was there to look closer at the technology that officers say is a welcome addition. >> i welcome it. i think it will be a great advantage for us as police get rid of all of that he said, she said because it will be right there on video. the the camera doesn't lie. >> reporter: there are situationness which body cameras may be turned off by those officers including

robert menendez is expected in federal court in newark this morning. he is accused of accepting gifts and campaign contributions in exchange for political favors. menendez maintains his innocence. also we're told that the teenage suspect in an assault caught on camera here will turn himself in today. police say the teenager who knock out a 60 year-old in a center city september platform, this happened on monday. there are no injuries in this fire in the 5700 block of tackawanna street in wissonoming this morning. the fire broke out just after 1:00 and crews investigated a

in chatsworth. crystal clear skies for him, and a cold start to the morning here in chatsworth. evidence of a sunrise to the east. we will be in for a beautiful one since it is so clear outside. lets go west with 33 degrees sent in from lynn. again, clear skies chilly start but she's breaking out and off her sunglasses. bought full sunshine expect for us yet again. we will go to 32 degrees. jerry timlen sent that in from king of prussia cold start but non-existent wind. it is not quite as harsh as yesterday was and this southerly push that we have been talking about of that warm air from the south will really send these temperatures on a nice uphill climb. but eventually this whole storm system will have to roll through. that will happen come friday. in the meantime because the wind starts to kick in that is the the factor that comes with the forecast. really nice say for this. you have to worry about an elevated fire risk, this is not a major concern but we

that is good news. rush hour has not perked up yet but we are seeing bubbling of some role around 95 around girard. earlier construction that set us back. we are starting to see things earlier there. the schuylkill expressway still looks fantastic. in delays in either direction so far but at 5:46 around six or 6:15 we will see that pocket form at city avenue. right before you get to that pocket traveling on the roosevelt boulevard to get there traveling on the boulevard there are no delays in either direction. it is a good segway to the another portion of the boulevard where we have a traffic light malfunction. the north and southbound between oxford circle will and devereaux lights are out and there is no cross traffic. up in the northeast oxford circle a tricky area so make sure you are paying close attention to folks going to and from and yourself as well, make sure you feel it out, just be careful. we have an accident in washington crossing near taylorsville road an suv that
