more on the forecast, of course big holiday weekends, carol. >> it is now the first part of this morning windy couple of showers but the rest of it looks terrific. temperatures starting to come down, though they were in the middle 50's, through center city even higher than that, now 52 degrees through center city. that's the trends for the day. we won't drop all that low today into the middle 50's, we stop there. it is these winds that are so high this morning. let's look outside. shall we? we find that it is not raining right now through philadelphia, and it probably will not be raining here again, it looks like we've got most of these showers out of here. and unless something decides to chase along after warned -- afterward, few showers through state could the edge, not guaranteed they will be lasting all the way over here. so i think generally the trend is for clearing skies. down on the board walk plaza in rehoboth beach very quiet out there this morning, it is windy, and every single location, and it will stay that way. now, you can see on storm scan3, we do have few rain showers out there primarily look at burlington county,

just about all of it getting some rain, we also find it down through cumberland, salem county, kent county, also picking up some of these showers, and they're out there, but they are on their way out. so we're happy to say that. fifty-four now we've just dropped 5 degrees out at the airport in philadelphia. these temperatures are coming down, and they will bottom out probably pick up agree or two this afternoon to get us back to the middle 50's. fifty in trenton, 51 wilmington, day shapes up like this. by 12:00 p.m. we're at 52 degrees, it is winnie, windy, 45-mile an hour wind gusts, already seen them, that hi through philadelphia. we'll find the winds gradually subsiding as we go through the afternoon, the skies brightening up at the same time. highs in the middle 50's today. they get warmer tomorrow, we will take a look at the easter forecast just ahead. nicole? >> carol thank you. we are following breaking news this morning, an s.u.v. hits and kills a man in fishtown, and now philadelphia police are looking for who was behind the wheel.

"eyewitness news" reporter alan tree a who have -- hohh with more. >> very mournful start to holiday weaken for one family, police have now launched an aggressive search for a person that left a man dead near the 900 block every delaware avenue last night. it happened around 10:30 when investigators say, a man in his late 20's, was crossing the six-dane avenue apparently on his way to the roxy night club. police say he was hit by an s.u.v., and died on the scene moment later. that will driver did not stop. police now need your help, they are looking for a dark colored suv. pennsylvania tags jsm0488. it likely has front end damage. anyone with any information should contact police. reporting live in fishtown, al andrea huff, "eyewitness news". >> alexandria, thank you. new this morning, a fire has damaged a corner grocery store in philadelphia's kensington neighborhood. the call came in around

3:00 this morning. flames inside isaac's food market at the corner of jasper and east cambria streets. firefighters got it under control in about 15 minutes. the second floor tenant smelled smoke and got out in time. >> federal prosecutors are accuse ago philadelphia woman of trying to join isis and martyr herself. thirty year old keonna thomas, she is referred to her herself as the young lioness. she is accused of communicating with isis fight nerve sewer y also the sixth american arrested and accused of trying to join isis in the past three weeks. something missing in their lives. and they find meaning through the people they interact with over the internet. >> in court thomas only said yes and no. but her tweets continued to become concerning enough to raise a red flag to the intelligence community. according to court documents thomas communicated with an isis fighter overseas, that isis member wrote in part, quote, but if my wife comes and it turns out she was a spy, after all these years i will personally behead her. thomas responded quote cutting head is more personal. thomas' defense attorney didn't say much as she passed our camera. >> i don't have any further comment at this time. my offers is just appointed but we'll be prepared next week on her behalf. >> in another tweet wrote: when you are a jihad i fighter your death becomes a wedding. keonna thomas is behind me right now under federal lock up. she will be here until her next court appearance. she was supposed to leave the united states last week and

mystery, could be one step closer to being solved. a hunter found human remains off whites bog road in pemberton township monday and called police. we've learned the remains are that of 36 year old stacey greater. the pemberton woman disappeared in february 2006. police continue to investigate what actually happened to greater, and ask anyone with information to call the new jersey state police. well, big drug bust in philadelphia results in 60 arrests. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has more on a big effort by law enforcement. >> this operation involves several dozen police officers, and officials say it was designed to send a specific message to those who come from the suburbs to buy drugs, in the city. >> not only will you be arrested and charged with that crime. but your vehicles, if you have one, will be confiscated. >> philadelphia police announce the results of a large operation friday, in its east division, with dozens of people being arrested, throughout the day on thursday, for either buying or

selling drugs. >> we manage to arrest 60 persons in this operation and confiscated 24 vehicles. >> and police showed off those cars, most belonging to people coming into the city from the suburbs to buy heroin, crack or marijuana. this car's owner even designed hidden compartment to store the drugs un the back seat, but he still got caught. police say dollars scale of the operation is due in large part to constant citizen complaints about the drug trade. >> the community is under siege by large numbers of drug addicts, buying and using drugs openly. and again, we have young children and parent walking through these drug markets just to get to school. >> you see it quite often. yes, it is mostly like suburban people, you know, that's coming down here for the drugs. >> friends christian and john, live in the 25th district where most of the arrests were made. they say people are tired of watching drugs flood their streets. >> i think many people are used to it.

>> glenn straub has put up $26 million hoping to purchase revel from stockton university. the purchase last year now being challenged by the trump taj mahal in a dispute over how the showboat will be used. bankruptcy judge approved straub's bid to buy the revel earlier this week. now, straub says, his latest move is to start of a $500 million effort to redevelop atlantic city. >> well, this holiday weekends chosen 300 ministries is hosting its annual meals and worship this their grand new west philadelphia location. the non-profit organization has locations in center city and also in pottstown. in addition to feeding the

"3 on your side" consumer reporter jim donovan tells us about new survey that finds one category of credit cards may be stalling when it comes to benefits. >> using a credit card with loyalty rewards from a gasoline chain may seem like good idea. new survey finds the benefits are dwindling. credit cards. com found an average apr or annual percentage rate of 24.14% across the 20 largest gasoline credit cards. that is compared to average of 15% for general purpose cards. and a money waste err for anyone caring balloon gasoline card from one month to the next. they also found the process of obtaining benefits attached to the cards not so straightforward. six of the 20 required a minimum monthly purchase before any rewards kick in, another six, capped off rewards, after certain point. consumers may find they get more benefits when they use a

farther to the east, it is now, as you can see through new jersey, and it is on it way out of here. our skies will start to clear. there are few little showers around state college. they will probably die out in the process of coming here. so i think just generally our trend is that the showers leave, then we will be finding some very windy conditions today. temperature at 54 degrees. that may be just about it for our temperatures today. we might pick up another 2 degrees and get back up, but these temperatures are dropping this morning still mild atlantic city, 26 degrees there, poconos dropping to 37 degrees. cool down nothing compared to what they have going on through the great lakes. look how the temperatures are there. alpena, 19 agrees, cleveland 34 chicago just 29 degrees. we're on the better end of this. haven't seen the full force of the cold front. we really won't. today the full force will be a lot of those winds and

temperatures dropping down into the 50's. we have 15-mile per hour winds sustained in philadelphia, out of the northwest, in the poconos, 24-mile an hour winds, so, it is windy out there. and it is also a gusty wind with these winds they've been as high as 44 miles an hour in philadelphia, and now 28 miles an hour, poconos 38-mile an hour winds 36-mile an hour winds down in millville. so every place you go, you have got that. our future weather says clear skies, as we head into the afternoon. love it when it says that on the weekend. then by 11:00 tonight we're still looking at clear skies. we are also going to be dealing with temperatures today, that will be in the 50's tomorrow, in the 60s so it gets warmer for easter, and then even warmer for the phillies home opener as the boys of summer who arrive in spring will be heralding their season starting with the red sox monday afternoon. the clouds around here, well, they're not a lot of them this afternoon. and they're really aren't any

tonight, as the temperatures drop down to about the freezing mark. tomorrow looks great. easter sunday start beautifully. and looks like this computer model still wants to bring in a shower by sunday night no guarantee that a spot or two would even see a spot or two of a rain shower. monday terrific, as the game starts, and as the game ends, and you're home, easter sunday 62 degrees, i think that's probably do-able based on the cold winter. we will take 62 degrees. and then, by monday, our temperatures are even warmer than that. we've got temperatures that will be well into the 60s. the phillies home opener. today though we stop in the 50's philadelphia, the shore poconos, stopping at 48 degrees. and as we look at these winds just remember, they will die down a little bit later on this afternoon but they are not dead calm winds by any stretch, because we still have 30-mile per hour wind gusts expected tonight. temperatures 32 degrees, tomorrow, we find high temperatures getting into the lower 60s monday, into the upper 60s maybe wrapping on that door of 07 degrees.

daughter. >> get your car off of it. >> ross thompson who happening happens to run a business called the rv doctor, and his son coming down. s27 in lake count when they saw this motor home on fire. >> i look over. i saw there was still a car attached to t i was concerned. i saw one man running around the outside. i didn't think there was anybody else there, it was so engulfed, i figure they were outside. >> but they weren't. he went to help them. his son caught it all on his cell phone. another man driving 18 wheeler also stopped and helped. >> i noticed when i was yelling, there was a foot sticking out the back window. so i stopped. we renee cross right away, we ran up to the back window, rescued a mom and their daughter. and got them out. because they couldn't get out. they were trapped. the whole front ends was un-gulfed. no way going through the front door. >> joe his friend, daughter, all head today michigan when his right front tire blew out. >> it seemed like the tire was ignited an end on fire, almost within milliseconds. and the flames just come up. i ran out the door with a fire

"eyewitness news" reporter alexandria huff live on the scene with more on that story. alexandria? >> reporter: things are calm on delaware avenue. with several bars in the area, shoeing casino just up the -- sugarhouse casino, this is busy side every town on a friday night. things went from hectic to devastating when police say a man in his late 20's, crossing the six dane avenue, on his way to the roxy night club, according to investigators that is when he was struck by a passing vehicle that man pronounced dead on the scene just few moments later. the driver did not stop. now, police are searching for a dark colored suv pennsylvania tag number jsm0488. it was likely have some front end damage, anyone with any information or who may have seen anything out here, delaware avenue, should contact police. obviously, very difficult start to a holiday weekends, from one local family. reporting live in fishtown, alexandria huff, cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

>> alexandria, thank you. meanwhile philadelphia police say surveillance video will help them track down the gunman who shot two men in wissinoming. it happened just after 7:00 last night on the 6600 block of hagerman street. eighteen year old man was shot in the back. a 20 year old shot in the right shoulder. both are in stable condition. police believe an argument led to the shooting. >> now around the same time, religious leaders and other supporters were holding a gun control procession in southwest philadelphia. dozens gathered at morris park to advocate for stricter gun laws. now, some brought signs and pictures of their loved ones that were victims of gun violence. >> a long time activist for gun control has died. sarah brady passed away friday at retirement home in virginia. she was 73 years old. mrs. brady became a passionate advocate for gun control after her husband james brady was shot in the head in the assassination attempt on president reagan. brady's family says her work saved countless lives. "eyewitness news" has

obtained new video of the arrest of a vineland new jersey man who died while in police custody. while questions circle and prosecutors investigate friends of philip white are demanding answers. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco has more from vineland. >> i love him so much. >> candles are lit at a vigil for 32 year old philip white known to family as capone. he died earlier this week, and police custody. his final minutes caught on cell phone video. the 15 second video shows white on the ground in the grips after k9, being restrained by vineland police. he died on the way to the hospital. but friends say police went too far. >> beyond excessive force. when you hand cuff a vehicle they're subdued. i don't care if they're under the influence every anything you want to say they're under the influence of. how much can a person do handicuffs? >> white is told to turn over in handcuffs. the video ends with a officer trying to confiscate the cell phone. friends tell "eyewitness news", white, a father of

three, struggled with the use of pcp. he was being questioned in response to a disorderly call on the 100 block of west grape street tuesday. >> scanner traffic indicates white tried to disarm an officer. off camera, witness told us, white had become bell inch rent. >> he started like getting crazy, yelling, he threw a round house kick, and he missed the officer and the officer obviously tackled him. >> we want the police officer's brought up on charges. >> white's death has drawn ankle fresh dozens in the community, now looking for justice. >> so what happens? it is wrong. it is wrong. >> white was given cpr on the way to the hospital tuesday but pronounced dead, once he arrived. investigators are now awaiting the results after toxicology and autopsy report before they make a final determination. in vineland, cumberland county diana rocco cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a west chester university student is behind bars accused

of sexually assaulting a female student. police say 19 year old mauriceo martinez committed the crime last weekends at off campus fraternity party. facing charges including rape, indecent assault and a preliminary hearing held for april 16th. pennsylvania high school teacher is going to prison for having sex with one of her student. she is just one of the teachers profiled in a special i-team report earlier this year that looked at the rising number of teachers turned sex offenders. charlotte hoffman has this exclusive update. >> do you regret it? what about to the parent who trusted you, anything to say to them? >> erika was tight-lipped as she entered montgomery county court in february the i-team first exposed the lower moreland high school teacher's inapropriate behavior. >> why did you do it? why throw your whole teaching career away? are you serious right now? >> police records show two years ago she began sending

sexually explicit text messages photos, and videos of herself to one of her students. the 33 year old who was married with children later had sex with the 17 year old boy in her car. >> we as a society we put great trust in our teachers, and our schools. and she betrayed that trust. >> according to state records over the past ten years the number of educators who have lost their teaching certificates for having sex with students has increased 81%. in 2014, a third of them were women. she pled guilty to institutional sexual assault and disseminating sexually explicit materials to a minor. our cameras were not allowed in court today where she faced up to seven years behind bars. but the judge only gave her 30 days in prison, and three years probation. saying she had suffered enough. she lost her job will never be allowed to teach again and will have to register as a sex offender. inside the courtroom she apologized saying i should have exercise dollars better judgement and i'm sorry for abusing my position of

authority. in montgomery county charlotte hoffman cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile, if were you a passenger on a philadelphia fire department ambulance in 2012 your personal information may be in jeopardy. a data breach in the city's fire department affect those who use fire department ambulance services between february and september 2012. fire officials say a data vendor gave names birthdates, social security numbers 750 patients to a theft ring involved in a tax scheme. >> well, there is word this morning, that a survivor has been found at the site of a deadly terror attack in kenya. resident there are accusing their government of taking insufficient security measures in the wake of the attack. tina krause has more on the grim task of identifying the victim. are inconsolable. >> police are taking fingerprints from bodies to

this area, and any showers that you find will be ending very very soon. the winds, however, will not be ending. it continues to be extremely windy today in every location. look at this sky though. this is really interesting. this is out in kutztown this morning, 44 degrees, wind northwest at ten. well maybe as northwest at ten, but probably gust to go about 30 miles an hour, but look at these clouds. and they're moving very quickly through the skies. so just a really interesting picture. just as an indication of how strong these winds are at every single layer of the atmosphere. it is a windy day but one that's drying out. anybody who started to see these showers, and sent them in to us, those showers are ending the clearing will be beginning, and the winds will continue to howell. we've got 52 out at the airport in philadelphia, right now, 49 trenton 51 degrees in wilmington, still in the three's, in the poconos still in the lower 60s in atlantic city, but those temperatures will be dropping a little bit as well today. winds are now gusting to

35 miles an hour in philadelphia. their height so far today 44 miles an hour, and they're back up again. it is winnie through south jersey allentown about 16-mile an hour wind gusts and wind gusts almost 40 miles an hour in the poconos. our temperatures today will be in the 50's. yesterday we were well into the six off's looked, you know we had some showers around, still it was mild enough. today, we've got temperatures that will be in the 50's, tomorrow, they're back into the 60s the lower 60s as high pressure builds in here for easter. then by the time we get to monday, which we all know by now, is the phillies home opener at 3:05. we have temperatures that will be in the 60s which that will be terrific. future weather clear, 2:00 in the afternoon clear everywhere, by the time we hit 3:00 a.m., tomorrow morning easter sunday, we are still clear. it is a great looking sunrise tomorrow. this computer model says at 7:00 there is a sprinkle around. maybe not. and then, by the time we get to monday, beautiful looking weather, the phillies will be
