philadelphia's jewelers' row. tonight the search for suspects continues. good evening everyone, i'm diana rocco. natasha has the night off. this is a story you saw first on "eyewitness news." police say the victim left the jewelry store on eighth street and walked to her car inside a parking garage on chestnut street. that's when police say she was kidnapped attacked and then left in a cemetery in darby borough. steve patter is son has the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: good evening. in case there's any confusion on this easter sunday the details in this case that we're about to describe you to can certainly be called -- certainly be called confusing if not disturbing. we want to warn you in case you're watching this story this evening but we want to show you the scene. this is where the woman worked, and in that parking garage police say three men

initiated a brutal abduction and attack. worst fears on jewelers' row. sunday with painstaking details police describe the brutality a premeditated abduction and assault. only cbs3 "eyewitness news" at the scene on south eighth street saturday night. as detectives and crime scene investigators combed the area. police say hours earlier in broad daylight, at about 4:00 saturday afternoon a 53-year-old female employee of this high value watch boutique was leaving work and walking to her car across the street in this parking garage. inside police say three men hopped out of a parked burgundy gag dough van and abducted the woman demanding keys to the business and codes to the safe. then horror. for about an hour the woman is bound and hooded while the men drive. police say she's punched kicked, choked and shot with a taser some seven times. when it's clear she doesn't know the code to the safe she's dumped at this cemetery

in darby borough more than 10 miles away. still bound the woman is struggling to remove zip ties from her wrists and ankles when the men come back and abduct her a second time. this time she's shackled in steel restraints as the men continued to beat the woman demanding a pin number to her atm card. police say the men stopped four times to withdraw money before she's dumped off again at the same cemetery. a passing driver sees the woman walking out to the road and calls 911 ending the ordeal. on top of a concussion the woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition suffering from cuts, bruises and multiple contusions. although we're told she's expected to recover: police will put the suspects description on on our web site cbsphilly.com. for now i'm steve patterson cbs3 "eyewitness news." >> thank you steve.

police are looking for a basketball coach who police say opened fire during a game in west philadelphia. the shooting happened yesterday inside the christie recreation center on this south 56th street. police say 26-year-old maurice tavarez of chester got into an argument with a spectator and the other team's coach. tavarez allegedly pulled a gun out of his waist band and fired a shot. no one was hit and police say tavern very president ran -- tavarez ran away. a breezy beautiful day for easter celebration. that made it a perfect day for an egg hunt. across the delaware valley. you can't beat today's high temperatures. hopefully you had a chance to enjoy it. look at that everybody in the 60's the exception up in the mountains where mount pocono had a high of 50 degrees but 64 in allentown and philadelphia for the official afternoon temperatures. our average high for this time of year is 60 degrees. right now still in the lower 60's for philadelphia, 61 allentown, 63 reading. 19 south jersey towards the shore we're in the low 60's. the suburbs hanging onto 60 right now and doylestown and willow grove. shaping up to be a nice easter evening. there are those winds. notice the arrows pointing northeast. a southwest wind sustained over 20 miles per hour. it's that southwesterly breeze bringing in the milder air. there could be a couple rain showers in the poconos. everyone else will see partly cloudy skies through tonight tomorrow looking good, low 70's for the highs for philadelphia mid 60's at the shore, near 60 in the poconos and of course tomorrow the home opener phillies-red sox looking good, 3 o'clock first pitch in the sunshine

fires and screamed obscenities forcing officers to make 31 arrests. three people were hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. new details tonight in the attacks that left 148 people dead at a kenyan university. there are suggestions that the country's security forces were slow to respond to the violence. kenya's daily nation newspaper reports it took police seven hours to get a special tactical unit to the school. once there it took them only 30 minutes to kill the four al-shabaab gunmen and stop the siege. republican lawmakers say congress should have the final say on president obama's nuclear agreement with iran. the topic dominated the sunday morning talk shows and with critics blasting the agreement the administration is defending its position. correspondent don champion reports. [speaking foreign language] >> reporter: pope francis praised the agreement with iran in his easter message but israel's prime minister continued to protest on the

sunday morning talk shows. >> i think this deal is a dream deal for iran and it's a nightmare deal for the world. >> reporter: congressional republicans have also been critical. senator bob corker the chair of the foreign relations committee proposed a bill that would give congress a role in finalizing the deal. >> the fact that congress was like to weigh in was something that the administration the other western countries were able to use to ensure that this deal isn't worse than it is. >> reporter: president obama says he'll veto any such bill. critics say the framework deal does not go far enough and leaves the iranian infrastructure in place. it calls for iran to decrease its number of working uranium centrifuges from 19,000 to 6,000. iran's stock piles would also be neutralized and all of its nuclear facilities would be opened to un inspections. in return crippling economic sanctions would be lifted after iran proves compliance. the u.s. energy secretary who helped broker the deal ensured

sunday long term safeguards are include. >> we'll have eyes on the entire supply chain of your uranium. we'll have surveillance of centrifuge production. >> reporter: iran and negotiating countries have until june 30 to finalize the agreement. don champion for cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, happy easter sunday. here we are almost 7 o'clock and we still have current temperatures in the low 60's. not bad for early april. as we check in with our weather watchers, 61, 62 is pretty much the number right now. we have that wind mixing up the atmosphere. these temperatures pretty much uniform no matter where you are across the delaware valley. exception may be down the coast a little bit chilly by the cold atlantic ocean but these were the highs today. james in ocean city new jersey still came in at 60 degrees. can't beat that in the sunshine. willow grove barbara had a high of 68 degrees as well as phil here in philadelphia clementon new jersey david

dutch coming in at 68. peter in lawrenceville, new jersey 66. also mid 60's up in downingtown and wayne in land den berg pennsylvania coming in at 63 degrees. still nice outside right now. one place that will be rocking tomorrow is the ballpark. all quiet now but a different story come less than 24 hours as the red sox come into town for opening dane the weather is going to be beautiful with temperatures in the 70's at first pitch. i hope you have tickets to head out and see the phils play. compared to 24 hours ago temperatures are warming up. anywhere from about five to 11 degrees warmer so that milder air mass continues to move on in and sets up shop over the next couple of days. here's the current numbers again. 63 philadelphia, 51 in mount pocono but to our north where the cold front, this is a different air mass there albany 40 degrees, 35 in buffalo. look to the south of the front, 67 in richmond. we're going to remain to the

south of the front over the next 48 hours so that keeps our temperatures on the warm side. average high 60. we'll be way above there for monday and tuesday in the lower 70's but little bit of a drop in the temperatures for the middle of the week. looks like we hit the 50's wednesday and thursday but that is short lived as we return to the upper 60's to near 70 by next friday into next weekend. winds still gusting 25 miles per hour close to 30 at times. so that's not good news for the allergy sufferers. we have dry conditions right now. winds blowing the pollen around. maple and juniper are the main pollens outside right now causing the problems. tomorrow going to be very high over a 10 out of a scale of 10 still on the high side both tuesday and wednesday but those numbers will lower a little bit because we'll get some rain in here to help cleanse out the atmosphere just a little bit. front, you can pick it out really cutting across upstate new york right now. snow on the north side, a couple showers over the poconos. everyone else just sees partly cloudy skies tonight across the delaware valley and we'll keep the sunshine in our forecast for monday. great looking opening day. temperatures in the low 70's.

good 10 to 12 degrees above average. the front still to our north on tuesday. however there's going to be more clouds, maybe a few showers especially in the afternoon but highs i think still can get to near 70. then the front passes by wednesday. we see winds switch out of the east and northeast. that's a cool flow. that's why we drop back into the 50's which is below average. looking good tomorrow afternoon, 3 o'clock, sunshine and clouds, still dry throughout the entire phillies game. tuesday morning i think we wake up with some sun and clouds. by the afternoon there could be some showers around, some steadier rain may move in later during the evening and at night tuesday. temperatures again tomorrow morning 40's and even some 50's so a mild start to the day. look at that, widespread 70's for the highs on monday. tuesday same story. looks like we make to it near 70's degrees. so, your forecast overnight breezy, partly cloudy 46 for center city. winds lighten up for tomorrow partly sunny warm with a high of 72 degrees. here's the extended forecast. still near 70 tuesday with showers especially in the afternoon. then it's kind of a damp forecast. wednesday more showers 56.

season at the center tonight. nerlens noel will be in the lineup after suffering a cut on his right eyelid that kept him out of most of last night's game. the phillies get their season under way tomorrow as justin was just telling you about at citizens bank park. today they finalized their roster in preparation for the season. not a lot of surprises with the exception of jeff francoeur making the final roster in there outfield. jonathan papelbon spoke about his hopes for the season and didn't sound so enthusiastic. >> we can be competitive in certain areas. i think we have guys competing for jobs. i think when guys compete for jobs, we got some guys come back in the bullpen that have had some success in the previous years that's -- got good new starters. hopefully we can string together a few wins. >> fantastic championship game tomorrow night between wisconsin and duke which you can see on cbs3.
