kate you are track something rain. >> i am jessica. unfortunately i was at the ballpark today and even though the phillies lost and lost by quite a bit people were still happy because the weather was so nice but unfortunately take a look at what is moving in now. showers across western and central pennsylvania and they are getting in our north and west suburbs at the moment. not a whole lot. just a few light showers. but we've got showers in the forecast every day through at least friday. a far cry from today we hit 75 making it the highest temperature since october 28th october 28th. coming up in just a bit we'll talk about more showers when they really arrive in earnest across the region. also a big temperature drop for the middle of the week and it's going to be damly for days. i hope you got your fill of sunshine today. that's all coming up with the seven day forecast. jessica. >> kate we'll see in you a bit. jurors in the aaron hear and in dez case could begin deliberations tomorrow. he face as first degree murder charge. the defense started its case today. and then rested after calling

just three witnesses. prosecutors spent more than two months laying out their version of events. meanwhile, the fate of accused boston marathon bomber is now in the hands of a jury. 21-year-old dzhokar tsarnaev served with 30 crimes related to the 2013 bombings that killed three people and injured hundreds. 17 of the counts carry the death penalty. closing arguments wrapped up today and the judge provided 40 pages of instructions on the jury how to consider each charge charge. the family of young man who was shot at a dance party in camden county is now pleading with the public to help find a killer. 18-year-old tymeer bright was killed on sunday night on kresson boulevard in haddon township. he was shot in the parking lot of a former car dealership where an apparent nightclub now exists on the second floor. the party there that night had been peaceful until the crowd of mostly teenagers started to leave around allege 30:00. >> it was a nice night. they said it was security.

there would be security we let him go. >> please contact the police. the prosecutor's office anybody. just tell what you know. please. >> he was a high school senior. he was to become father in september. he wasn't the only victim that night. a 17-year-old girl was also shot but she's expected to recover. and 16-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet. well the west philadelphia basketball coach accused of of firing a gun during a game has turned himself in to police. police say maurice tavaras fired that shot inside the christie rec center saturday afternoon. it happened they say after a rival coach tried to intervene in an argument that he was having with a spectator. an attorney for tavaras says his client fired into the air in self-defense fearing that he was about to be attacked by the crowd. >> new tonight, the story of a dramatic rescue. a rock climber slips and falls several stories down a cliff.

at raffle stover park in bucks county suffering serious injuries. well tonight the first responders who put themselves in harm's way to rescue him showed their story with "eyewitness news" reporter deanna rocco. >> reporter: pictures show a daring and dangerous rescue on easter sunday after a climber on the high rocks at raffle stover state park false into the ravine. >> fallen at least about 40 feet. landed on his back on some rocks. he was in a lot of pain. >> reporter: point pleasant volunteer company got the call just before within. a 59-year-old slipped. chief scott fleischer says the rescues are difficult and time intensive but it's something they train for. >> it certainly is a race against time and we're working against the clock to get him the care and we bring the helicopter in ultimately to evacuate him to the hospital. however you can only go so fast down there. it's very titer rain not a lot of room. >> reporter: 911 caller was able to meet emergency crews in the parking lot and then direct them along the path to where the

climber fell. >> he was awake. we called it conscious alert and/or yened. he remembered the fall. he was in significant amount of pain. >> reporter: firefighters tackling the terrain to form a human chain and a a sort of zipline across the ravine hoisting the injured man strapped to board 75 feet in the air from one side of the cliff to awaiting helicopter. a rescue they've done dozens of times before. this time they say the climber was lucky his injuries weren't worse. >> these cliffs are somewhat treacherous if not respected. >> reporter: that climber remain at temple university hospital. he sustained some broken bones and injuries to his back and leg leg. in raffle stover state park, bucks county diana rocco cbs3 "eyewitness news". a family vacation ends in a medical emergency. >> it is a nightmare scenario and we have the latest information tonight about the family some say were poisoned in paradise. also are you getting in shape for summer? well tonight

three members of a delaware delaware family are hospitalized after getting boy sopped in paradise. steve the head of the tattenall school in wilmington in serious but stable condition tonight much his wife dr. theresa devine is out of the hospital. and their two teenage sons remain in critical condition. the family traveled to saint john and stayed in a luxury villa there. it's suspected terminix fume gated the villa downstairs from them usual meth they will bromide a chemical that cause central nervous system and respiratory failure. >> it's hard for anybody to

valley allentown reading upper bucks and montgomery counties that's where a couple of showers could get in during the overnight hours. move on through but for most of us it should stay generally dry tonight. now tomorrow a different story. you can see a lot of moisture off to the west. even down into portions of the deep south and more moving in across the great lakes and it will eventually get here in fact we've got rain in the forecast every day this week tuesday right through friday. let's take a look at some of the photos from our weather watchers they were sending in photos all day on this beautiful first day of spring. you can see great shots here from fill he went to the morris arboretum showing april flowers and william in levittown also said one sunny day is all it took for these two bloom. these are hyacinths looking gorgeous out there. april showers bring may flowers and instead of more flowers in the forecast, we've got those showers. another look at what we're dealing with outside tonight. no problem outside as we look live from the cbs broadcast center right down into center city, everything is all lit up. everything is quiet.

not raining here in the city at the moment. and looks like it should stay dry during the remainder of the overnight hours but that is all going to change. let's take look at temperatures and you can see we're still holding on to 60. barely 60 degrees at the airport right now. 55 in wilmington. allentown 63 degrees right now. mount pocono at 49. now, tomorrow is going to stay generally mild. we'll be in the low 70s again it will feel like today. normal highs around 60 so it's still unsystemly warm. watch for a few showers on and off much colder air starts to come in wednesday and thursday and as we head into the next couple of days you can see our wind direction by later tuesday evening we start to get into that northeast wind and that continues on wednesday. northeast flow this time of the year bring the clouds, it's damp, it's chilly that wind off the atlantic ocean you just really can't break out of the cloud cover on days like that. so you'll see the drop when i get to the seven day. overnight tonight mainly cloudy it's mild, 53 degrees. for your tuesday cloudy, showers around at eight any time

time. remaining mild, 70 degrees and your "eyewitness weather" seven day forecast take a look at the difference here. 70 degrees for your tuesday. mild a couple of showers around. now none of these days are a complete total wash out it's not just going to pour all day. but gathered showers all day wednesday and look at that high, 49 degrees on wednesday. thursday we'll again struggle to hit 50 and getting a little bit more comfortable 68 by friday. still with some showers. i'm hopeful i have a lot of hope for saturday isn't yes. >> hope you can clear it out and get some sun. >> sunday looks great. >> remain hopeful. >> unbelievable final four came to an toned night. >> a great one. duke and wisconsin national championship right her on cbs3 and chester's bo ryan right in the middle. opening day fell a little flat, you know reality check for the remaining optimistic phillies fans. we'll talk about it coming up in

duke with four national championships. wisconsin looking for its first since 1941. it was worth our time. a great game with a better finish. here we go. chester's bo ryan looking for his first division one championship. his badgers led by nine in the second half. but the blue devils stormed back. grayson allen scored on the layup to give duke the lead. later tyus jones would hit a three pointer to put duke up for good. coach k won his fifth crown. duke beat wisconsin 68-63. all right. beautiful day to open the phillies season boston red sox in town. cole hamels the glimmer of hope for something special to watch this season did not have his best stuff. here we go. he struggled from the start in the first inning the ball in the wind and over the wall. boston took the one to nothing lead. in the fifth, pedroia again this time took him for his second homerun of the game. two batters later hanley ramirez went yard. cole surrendered four solo

homeruns and five innings of work. the red sox hit five bombs in the contest and the fightings bats were cold just thee hits. boston crushed the phils eight to nothing. the last time the fightings were shut out on opening day 1998. lesley van arsdall has the post game report. >> reporter: the phillies were looking to fight low expectations and get off to a good start. they did not. cole hamels allowing four homeruns. >> you put a team -- your team down one to nothing in the first inning it's not setting a good tone or positive message in being able to get the rhythm and the momentum on your side. >> reporter: then there was the lack of offense. >> you got to handle it to buchholz. he had good stuff today. he cep the ball down. he worked both sides of the plate. he was able to keep us off balance and he a did good job. >> it's tough to score runs when you don't get anybody on first. we'll start l um and down lineup have to have better at bats. make adjustments in the game
