"eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco joins us live from philadelphia police headquarters with this video and her exclusive interview. diana? >> reporter: chris and jessica, tonight this good samaritan tells us that while other people were driving by, something inside her told her to stop and when she did she could immediately tell that this woman had been through a traumatic and terrifying ordeal. >> she had her hands behind her back. i can see something around herring in and the fear in her eyes yelling for help. >> reporter: driving to dinner saturday night this young woman saw a woman in her 50's in shackles and yelling for help. stumbling on to hook road from a cemetery. >> i said, ma'am, are you okay. >> she said, i've been kidnapped i'm been abducted. i don't know where i am. can you help me? >> she immediately called 911. the woman's eye was swollen shut shut. her clothes dirtied. this woman didn't want to be identified because the 53-year-old attackers are still out there. >> she was so shooken up.

she was shaken and said i've been abducted where am i? where am i?? ma'am where are you from. >> she said philadelphia. >> plea men driving this van scene on surveillance video abducted the woman just before 4:00 p.m. from inside the parking garage on seventh and chestnut streets. she had just closed the national watch and diamond exchange and was walking to her car. >> drove the complainant to the rooftop. that's when they began their torture. they put a hood over her face. they tie wrapped her. >> victim was tasered at least seven times and repeatedly beaten. the men wanted codes and passwords to the jewelry store safe. they stopped at 2atm's taking money from her card. dropping her once in the darby township cemetery. she freed herself and the men returned putting her in handcuffs and shackles. after they left a second time, the woman made her way to the road where this driver stopped. >> i just, you know, want to let her know i'm glad she's safe and

she's home and my heart, you know, is watts with her. >> reporter: and the victim was able to identify the driver of the van as a man in his late 20s. she told police he was by far the most violent. she also told police that she was told several times by her attackers that today is the day you're going to die. police are now looking for that van. it is described asthma ran a 1997 to 2002 model ford econo line. anyone with information is asked to call police. we're live at police headquarters tonight diana rocco cbs3 oy witness news. >> extraordinary story. diana thank you very much. new at 11:00 o'clock tonight a shooting on the schuylkill. young man pulled a gun and shot his own father as he was driving their car. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt joins us live at the state police belmont barracks with late breaking information. david? >> reporter: chris that 22-year-old suspect is here right now. he's been under intense questioning for several hours. police are trying to put

together the pieces and fine out why a 22-year-old would shoot his father in the head. rush hour on the schuylkill. pennsylvania state police say a 22-year-old sitting in the back seat of this white buick sedan pulled out a gun and shot his 42-year-old father in the head who was driving the car. police were on scene within minutes and closed all lanes of the schuylkill in both directions. an ambulance came to take the suspect's father to local hospital. police arrested tweet-year-old on scene. eventually the eastbound lane opened up. but the westbound lane was closed for two hours. causing miles of gridlock. police eventually towed the car on scene and brought it back to the state police barracks in belmont. the same location where the 22-year-old suspect is being questioned. police say the 22-year-old suspect was in the back. the father was driving, and the father's wife who was the suspect's mother was sitting in the front seat and witnessed it all. police say that the victim is in

the hospital right now in critical condition expected to be okay. they are not releaseing names but say charges are definitely pending for this 22-year-old suspect. live at the state police barracks, david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, david, thank you. lynne abraham is back op her feet after collapsing on stage at tonight's mayoral debate. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones is live at the kimmel center where abraham gave everyone quite a scare. todd? >> reporter: jessica in her own words tonight lynne abraham says quite simply, the lights went out. when she takenned on stage here at the kimmel center. >> just about 10 minutes into the debate while fellow candidate annie william was speaking abraham fainted on stage. other mayoral candidates tried to get to the 74-year-old to help but they were tether to do their podium by their microphones. this all took place as the debate was aired life. after cutting to a commercial, abraham was helped to the back of the stage. where she was seen by a doctor.

an ambulance pulled up to the kimmel center and emergency personnel wheeled in stretcher but that wasn't needed as about an hour and a half after fainting abraham was well enough to appear at a previously scheduled post debate press conference and she talked to us and told us what happened in her own words. >> i was -- i was just standing there at the podium. i was on arise sorry i leaned over to look at tony and i just the lights went out. i believe i had just a sudden drop of blood pressure which is what the doctor said. i was talking to the doctor he said your, you know, you taken takenned. i said i want to get up and he said no, no. let's go back. i'm not concerned. but obviously it's embarrassing to faint on stage something that's never happened before. >> reporter: abraham tonight says that she is feeling fine and she is not planning on slowing down her campaign

whatsoever. she says she'll be there bright and early tomorrow morning at 8:00 o'clock for a mayoral forum that will be hell at the national museum of american jewish history. reporting live tonight in center city todd quinones cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> todd, thank you. of course, lynne abraham is no stranger to the spotlight. she was the top prosecutor in the city of philadelphia serving five terms as district attorney. she was also a common mes court judge and the first woman ever lecked to the municipal court. she may be the best known candidate in the democratic field and some early polls say she's the front runner in the race. >> new at 11:00 o'clock tonight in south carolina, a police officer is charged with murder in the shooting death of unarmed driver. north charleston police officer michael schlaeger accused of of shooting fief i-year-old walter scott following a traffic stop on saturday. investigators say that video from an eyewitness shows scott running away from the officer when the fatal shots were fired. scott's family spoke at a news conference just a few minutes

ago. >> i don't think that all police officers are bad cops. but there are some bad ones out there. and i don't want to see anyone get shot down the way my brother got shot down. >> this shooting comes a mid an emotional debate about race and policing in america. and in this case officer schlaeger is white. walter scott was black. also tonight, we are hearing a 911 call connected to the death of a man in vineland while in police custody. >> he's outside? >> he's outside. >> what is he doing? >> he's screaming out. he's screaming. i don't know what the hell is wrong with him. >> that call is from march march 31st and so is this video. it shows the final minutes of philip white's life. you can see him on the ground and in the grips of a k9 being restrained by police. he died on the way to the hospital. the cumberland county prosecutor potspotsprosecutor's office is investigating.

he's sharing his vision for the future of that property. >> glenn straub walked through the property today with "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan. the revel is a pristine facility that costs 2.5 mill billion dollars to build. it was acquired at auction by straub for just $82 million. he plans to invest about $150 million in renovations and he hopes to have a soft opening by memorial day weekend. >> that's just the beginning. it's not complete. somebody has to do with the brick and mortar and bigger than stadiums they play football i've got to get it turned around to make money. and to hire the people we came up here to hire. >> straub says the restaurant will be first to open followed by the hotel and casino. he's also planning a year round water park. we have our eye on some fast changing weather tonight. >> that we do. with the umbrella up. on the sky deck. kate, how is it going out there? >> eighths whole lot colder out here chris and jessica than it was just a few hours ago and we've got some light to moderate rain falling in the city at the moment. take a look at this dramatic drop that we felt today. look at these numbers. we got to 69 degrees for the high today. that was around 2:00 p.m. then a steady drop as northeast winds picked up now it's only 46 degrees. that means in the course of the past nine hours or so temperatures have dropped 23 degrees. and with the cold air and those chilly winds coming in you can see still steady showers packing up across the region. especially over portions of the burlington and ocean counties at the moment. i'll let you know how long this chill lasts up when we can expect the sunshine to return with the seven day forecast. >> all right, kate see in you a bit. thank you. ly on the way, the attack no one saw coming. >> new jersey man attacked by a coyote while working in his own yard. he shares his shocking story as residents are told to keep their pets and children inside.

national air and space museum tourists could only sit and wait. the good news is power is back on tonight. kentucky senator rand paul will run for president. paul launched his white house bid in in louisville today with a rally focused on that made him favorite of the tea party liberty and limited government. he is the second republican candidate to enter this race joining senator ted cruz. paul a pittsburgh native will begin his campaign immediately he is set to visit four early states starting tomorrow in new hampshire. jury deliberations will continue tomorrow in the federal death penalty trial of boston marathon bomber dzhokar tsarnaev tsarnaev. jurors are considering 30 charges against him. they accept two questions to the judge today. we don't know what those questions were. the deliberations almost two years after twin bombs exploded near the marathon finish line killing three people and wounding more than 260. if the jury does convict

tsarnaev, they will then decide during a second phase of the trial if he should be put to death. unthinkable scare for new jersey homeowner after he's attacked by a coyote. this happened yesterday morning in saddle river, bergen county. john told authorities he was doing yard work when that coyote attacked him. leaving three puncture wounds in his leg. doctors gave the retired schoolteacher eight shots to prevent rabies. >> i finished that section and was just crossing the drive and boom he got me in the back of the leg. she let go and i was able to then just run up to the front steps here, rank the doorbell. >> although attack on humans are rare authorities believe this was the same coyote that injured a neighbor's dog over the weekend. >> thousands are expect to do turnout in buck county for the funeral avenue former fire company chief who died at the age of 95. he was still an active member of the fire company. friends say that john always had

a sense of humor. long time member of the egley fire company he was most recently a member of the fire police directing traffic at active fire scenes. john was hospitalized with breathing problems after he volunteered during a fire in late february on a brutally cold night. he died on thursday. >> it's tough. it's tough on all of us. i mean he was a good to guy for everything there was no way he was ever going to stop. if he stopped, he would have -- he would have passed years ago. >> john is considered a founding father of fire fighting training in buck county. he served with the egley fire company for 82 years. well the friendly skies were not so friendly in india where two pilots reportedly came to blows in the cockpit. the times of india reports that fight happened sunday just minutes before take off. two air india pilots allegedly fighting over pre flight paper work.

the newspaper reports the scuffle glade the flight for 10 minutes but the night did get off the ground. the airline reportedly denied the cockpit brawl saying it was quote a minor argument. our skies are not so friend toll night. we've seen a dramatic drop in the temperatures. >> quiet out there. compared to what it was earlier today. >> earlier today we had a few breaks of sun got up near 70 degrees and now the bottom has come falling out and temperatures are in the 40s. unfortunately they'll stay there for the next two days. the next 48 hours looks a lot like it looks right now. it's cloudy, it's damp, it's cold. and it's going to stay that way. hopefully you didn't pack up the gloves and hats just yet you may want that them outside tomorrow with that gusty breeze from the northeast. this is our shot i was just out there on the sky deck and i can tell you everything is soaked. we've got drops coming through and when it's not actively raining, it's drizzly it's misty, it's just very very gloomy another shot on our live

neighbor network coming from the palmyra cove nature park in palma rah, new jersey. 44 degrees and east northeast wind and that is what's causing all of this chill. talk more about that back door cold front and what it means in just a second. first i want to show you the active radar as we have our quadruple sweep going here on storm scan3 and picking up a lot of green. there's no rhyme or reason it to you can see steady showers just south and east of the city right now. crossing over if you're traveling on 76 or 295, new jersey turnpike, right into portions of camden and gloucester counties. do you have steady rain around washington township at the moment and over toward chester just some locally heavy showers and that's how it's going to be for the next couple of days. showers will be hit or miss coming and going but some of them could produce steadier rain and it could slow you down on the roads with ponding out there and certainly the risk for low visible if you're traveling through anyone of these steadier showers. all across the northeast everything is pretty scattered. that's how it will continue to look but you can see where that cold front is that back door cold front we call it that

because most fronts cross the country from west to east. a back door front comes in from east to west. you can see how cold it is in boston, bar harbor at 28. 46 here in philly. it's 65 still in dc. so that northeast wind off the ocean generates clouds and showers and keeps temperatures quite cool and right now winds are sustain about 10 to 15 miles an hour from the northeast and they will come from the northeast for the next two days. so it's a damp, cool, dreary pattern. only in the 40s out that tomorrow. the warm air is so close we just can't tap into it at least until friday. that's when temperatures get back to the 70s. so for the overnight hours tonight mostly cloudy with showers it's chilly but the temp goes nowhere tomorrow. the high only 49 degrees. breezy and chilly with showers around so a beautiful opening day for the phillies. but their second home game not so great. 45 degrees at first pitch. breezy with showers bring the poncho and wear the fleece under it it will be cold if you're heading to the ballpark. thursday seam story, very chilly we're lucky if we hit 50. friday big difference. 73 with a chance for thunderstorm.

singer billy holiday was born 100 years ago today right here in philadelphia. >> the world lost lady day in 1959 at the young age of 44. but certainly her one of a kind voice has lived on in sopping like lady sings the blues and god bless the child. fitting birthday tribute philadelphia's music alliance named billy holiday as their first walk of fame inductee. from one great entertainer to another this is the statue of lucille ball. the problem is, it looks nothing like lucille ball. the statue is in her hometown in new york state and many say it's a disservice to the memory of that late comedian. the statue was donated back in 2009. the original artist has now apologized for its quality and has offered to fix the statue for about $10,000. >> oh! >> the town is taking donations to try to foot the bill. we'll be right back.
