tsarnaev of all 30 counts. a boston jury took a little more than 11 hours over two days to convict 21 year-old dzhokhar tsarnaev for bombing attack in the 2013 boston marathon that killed three and injured more than 260, as well as violence that followed. the the courtroom was packed with bombing survivors. >> i'm grateful to have him off the the streets. i'm grateful to show everyone, the world, that it is in the tolerated. this is not how we behave. >> reporter: courtroom observers tell cbs news that tsarnaev displayed little reaction when verdicts were read. dzhokhar then 19 helped tamerlan detonate two bombs near marathon finish line. the a attack killed eight year-old martin richard, 23 year-old exchange student lindsey lou and restaurant worker crystal campbell. more than 260 others were injured, four days later the the the brothers killed mdt police officer sean collier and carjacked an suv leading to a shoot-out with police in

water town. tamerlan died after he was shot during the gun fight. police found dzhokhar hours later hiding in a dry dock boat. inside he scrolled a manifesto blaming america for its wars in muslim countries. prosecutors described the the bombing as a cold calculated terrorist act, that was intentional and defense attorney judy dark conceded dzhokhar's participation but it was tamerlan that built bombs and planned at tax. her goal has been to keith her client off death row, the the penalty phase face begins sunday. tsarnaev showed lit follow any reaction to the verdict this same jury will decide if he will face life in prison, or a death sentence. in boston, i'm chris van cleve, now back to you. boston cardinals sean o'malley and roast man catholic bishops are weighing in on tsarnaev's punishment. it could go against the church's teaching. our coverage of the guilty verdict continues on

sidebar. they told "eyewitness news" in the interest of the patrons and employees he was banned since they caught win of the investigation. anyone who thinks they might have been a victim should contact police. the reporting from chester county alexandria hoff, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> we will stay on top of that story for you. a south philadelphia man is accused of shooting his own father in the face while the two were driving in the car on the schuykill expressway. police say that 22-year old camer corbett shot his father albert last night while his father was driving in the westbound lanes, near west conshohocken. he was in the back seat of that car. investigators say this all happened as cover bin's father was driving his son to malvern to get treatment for drug and mental health issues. he is in critical condition tonight, there was a woman in the passenger seat of the car but she was not injured. the city of philadelphia is hoping that a $10,000 reward will lead to an arrest and conviction of the three men who abducted a jewelry store worker over the weekend. that woman was snatched from a

media on saturday's shooting of an unarmed, black man. >> no justice. >> no peace. >> reporter: michael slagger was charged with murder after a cell phone video surfaced showing him firing eight times at walter scott as the scott ran a away. north charleston's mayor says the officer has been terminated. >> we do not conn down wrong. it doesn't matter who it is. >> reporter: officer pulled scott over saturday for a broken taillight. slagger claims he feared for his life as they struggled over his taser. >> shots fire, subject down. >> reporter: video shows scott ran away, and then the the officer, started shooting. >> i thought that my brother was gun down like an animal. it was unbelievable to me, to see that. >> reporter: after the shooting video shows the three three-year old officer dropped something on the ground near the victim's body. community leaders in south carolina are calling for calm, so far demonstrations have been peaceful.

>> justice has been served without ron rock thrown already and that is how each situation need to be handled. >> reporter: slagger is being held without one. omar villafranca for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". if convicted in that case five-year police veteran could face life in prison, perhaps even the the death penalty. family of scott says that he may have tried to run because he did owe child support which can lead to jail time there in south carolina. bus driver for easton area school district is dead after a tragic crash. it happened here in the parking lot of the this elementary school in palmer township northampton county. sixty-one year-old bonnie know vac was killed when she was struck and pinned between two vehicles. authorities say novacs car had trouble starting and she was trying to start it by pushing on the hood with the car in neutral when it started rolling at her. eventually pinning her against another vehicle. take a look at this surveillance video of philadelphia police searching

for a woman who stole a backpack with the loaded semiautomatic gun inside. watch as woman enters and takes the the backpack from the chair. you see her leaving with it there. this happened at the restaurant on north second street on monday. well ntsb released a report on the plane crash that claimed lives of the philadelphia inquirer co-owner lewis katz and six others. that crash happened last year while the plane was a attempting to take off outside of boston. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has the very latest information. >> reporter: these are first images we have seen from above the crash site released wednesday by the ntsb. it the is part of the broad report on the crash that killed philadelphia inquirer owner and philanthropist lewis katz and six others in may of last year. katz was heading home to new jersey but his plane never took off. you can see where it skidded off the runway at and airport outside boston and crash in the gully. we now know those inside died from a resulting fire a after

surviving the crash. we also know the pilot's final word. a a cockpit voice recorder captured him saying quote i can't stop it followed by oh no no, and then the sound of the crash. ntsb has previously said the crash was likely caused by pilot error. ntsb say pilot did not disengage a gust lock and that prevented the plane from tilting up and taking off but not everyone agrees. >> it doesn't tell us all of the answer that is we need. is there still a lot of questions that remain out there about what actually happened. >> reporter: mike is an aviation attorney representing two of the crash victims. he says a plane with gust lock engaged should be prevented from reaching take off speed. >> how do they get to that speed and why didn't the gust lock mechanism work the way it was designed. >> reporter: he said pie loss never mentioned the the gust lock in the cockpit voice recording so they have would have mentioned if that would have been a problem. a final more conclusive ntsb

drawings by the master paul cezanne. sketches which have been hidden for nearly a century. pat ciarrocchi has this eye on the arts. >> it the is a once in a career find for us, and extraordinary. >> reporter: to the untrained eye, these drawings look like any artists, first stab at a landscape but for two art conservators, gwenn edward and samantha she isly the the sketches became a discovery that has rock the barnes. since the beginning of the 20th century art scholars and guests would walk through barnes galleries without realizing there were two water colors with the hidden treasure from cezanne just waiting to be discovered. the sketches were on the the reverse side of the frame water colors, only reveal when gwenn ann and samantha took pieces out of the frames and meticulously lifted backing from the two works of art. >> we are working with scalpel to remove paper. every little section you could
