excessive force claim against officer slag their was ultimately dismissed. >> north charleston resident mario givens claims slager used a taser on him in 203 without reason. he filed a complaint but the officer was cleared of wrongdoing following an internal investigation. civil rights leaders in north charleston say police force need to be more accountable to the community. >> we have to not just get video but to get them convicted. there has to be consequences for behavior of these officers. >> now officer slager grew up here in the delaware val any south jersey. our cleve bryan spoke with one of the former class mates and joins us from their old high school in medicine forward burlington county, cleve. >> michael slager was a 2001 graduate from lenape regional high school. i spoke to one of his classmates who only had positive things to say and school where he spent his formative years. >> it is crazy that it is that far away but yet so close to home. >> reporter: christie is having a hard time believing

miningal slager that she graduated with from lenape high school, same man who shot an unarmed man in the back. >> i was shock by the whole situation, knowing him from will school i haven't talk to him in years but just knowing him in class together, was really, a nice boy. >> reporter: slager was quiet, not involved in many activities. >> i just wanted to see what other pages he was on. >> reporter: accusations of racism and aggression do not fit the memories of slager and the environment. >> lenamies a good school ape still is a good school. i could never imagine that. >> reporter: former neighbor to slager ed thomas find it hard to make a connection between slager's alleged actions and his upbringing. >> grew up in a nice house with nice people. >> reporter: slager's have moved but they were good neighbors and michael slager a polite kid. >> like you know somebody and you just can't believe that it happen. it is a shame.

following 2004 incident a spokesperson for termi nx said they enrolled in a intensive retraining program. in a statement, they say quote, we always strive to follow proper procedures and follow safety measures in everything that we do. a chester county bus driver ace rested for leaving a child on the bus for nearly six hours. authorities tell us that 66 year-old ivor roseland pick up a seven year-old girl to take her to will school. she was the only passenger on that van but he never dropped her off. investigators say that roseland drove right past the school and park at the the kraft bus lot. when that girl failed to show up for school they called her mother. she told them her daughter had gotten on that van. >> luckily for us she was fine but if this had been a month ago, given the weather, she would have frozen to death. if this would have been a month from now, given the weather, she could have died from heat exposure. so we were this close to a

tragedy happening. >> the the school bus company issued a statement saying with regards to the student left on the bus the the matter is under investigation and we are working closely with the kenneth area school district and local authorities. roseland was fired from that bus company. well, calling her a flight risk, a federal judge denied bail to home grown terror suspects keonna thomas. that is the the philadelphia mother arrested last week and accused of trying to join the terror group isis. cbs-3 "eyewitness news". it is time to talk weather now. we have an eye on the storm tonight, bringing severe thunderstorms to the area. >> lets check with kate bilo for latest check of the system. how is it looking. >> it is quiet here in philadelphia, it is still cold temperatures well below average. you can see thick cloud cover for the past two days it feels like a long time since we have seen the sun, all thanks to the east wind keeping things chilly damp and very gray but it is quiet at least for now. take a look at storm scan three, things are lighting off to the west, center of the storm is right about here snow on the back edge now over portions of nebraska, iowa, cold front is right here with strong storms. thinks a warm front starting to lift north moving through our area tonight and will produce threat for couple showers overnight. as we look at these severe thunder storm watches a across southern ohio and western pennsylvania and look at how this area of thunderstorms has

bowed outward. when you see that bow echo that is an indication that storms are producing win gusts and severe thunderstorm warnings around pittsburgh and as we move to the west we have tornado watch ape also severe then are storm warnings in effect. tornado watch up here on interstate 80 and illinois. very active night and that weather is heading our direction for tomorrow. temperatures are still cool for us, lower 40's and feels colder. it feels like 35 at the airport. feels like 26 in mount pocono. feels like winter has return. big changes ahead, warm front hits north and then we will get a little sliver of warm moist air tomorrow afternoon but it will ramp those temperatures in the mid 70's before the the cold front comes through with gusty thunderstorms. it depend how much sun we get warmer we get more sun, more unstable the atmosphere will be. that destable says will provide fuel for severe storms. if we don't get sun, we don't warm up and storms are less intense.
