this 29 year employee of the d.a.'s office was indicted for stealing more than a hundred thousand dollars in cash in what the d.a. describes as drug money, that was submitted to their office by various police departments, in ongoing investigations. the the employee's name is 48 year-old marry lynch of ridley, she turn herself in this morning and was immediately fired. investigators say she used money to fund a lavish lifestyle spending $62,000 on concert ticket over last three years. they found tickets at her home for upcoming taylor swift and bob dillon concerts. she used money to pay $67,000 american express bill and then altering documents and forging a why's signature in what the d.a. described as a ponzi-type keep. they found the descrepancy two months ago during an audit by one of the police departments and says it goes back to at least march 2013. >> this is a case of betrayal. this is a case where you have a trusted employee, a person

where "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones has had latest. >> reporter: after camping out here inside their office overnight boro manager paula brown has just left boro hall here after meeting with a councilman and solicitor but still, it is in the clear, if she has a job here but what is clear is boro right now is in a 1.1 million-dollar financial hole. >> $500 cash withdraws. so the the money was made. >> are you accusing me of taking that money. >> you were the treasurer. >> reporter: accusations are running high councilman says boro manager paula brown's job has within eliminated yet they stayed in her office overnight. >> they had debit the card and they were swiping atm machines $500 here three, hundred dollars there. >> reporter: brown says evidence showing how council members used about p.o. ro issued atm card to withdraw taxpayer money for their own personal expenses could be lost.

you can see that warm front didn't lift north. we will stay trapped in the cloud cover. fifty-six at the airport. sixty-six in dover. richmond at 68 degrees where warm air is. what to expect this evening? cloud, scattered showers, temperatures in the 50's and that possible thunderstorm well to the south. lets look at what happened last night. this is radar last night. you can see time stamp between 6:30 and 8:00p in m this storm toward to be a tornado. it was an ef4 tornado very strong devastating tornado that moved through the hamlet of fair dale. look at this hook are classic super cell shape waste notch here. this town was just decimated. you can see their track as that went from roshell illinois to fair dale a lieutenant of damage knits wake. the clean up is just beginning in northern illinois where these powerful tornadoes struck. i will step out and take a look at the this damage from fair dale, illness northwest of chicago the entire town is just in ruins.

cleaned up that mess. a judge has ordered a hearing on pennsylvania attorney general kathleen cain's decision to fire a top aid. montgomery county judge wants cain to explain why former prosecutor james barker was fired on wednesday. now barker had testified before a grand jury that later recommended kane be charged in connection with the leak of grand jury information. the judge called the hearing to determine if kane violated his order not to retaliate against witnesses. hearing is set for april 27th. today kane's attorney lenny davis released a statement on baffle of his client that read quote i cannery assure judge carpenter that the personnel decisions over the last two years, including the most recent ones were 100 percent a appropriate management decisions by attorney general kane consistent with her campaign themes and the people of pennsylvania for reform and efficiency in the office of attorney general. well, in a town that,

the the idea of the republican mayor in the city of philadelphia may seem like a long shot with registered democrats out numbering republicans by a around eight to one but melissa murray bailey is hoping to change that you will. i recently sat down with the candidate who shared her vision of philadelphia were she become a mayor.

looking around at candidates for mayor some bring name recognition, others years of governmental experience. melissa murray bailey brings neither and that is how she likes it. >> we really want to change philadelphia and make it better. we need to have a different approach. >> reporter: just 36 this native of absecon atlantic county has lived and work in world class cities washington melbourne, and singapore. three years ago she settled in society hill with her husband and daughter and develop a passion for making fill a more attractive place. >> until we focus programs on making things better for every philadelphian, we're not going to be able to take the city forward and realize the the vision of better philadelphia for everybody. >> reporter: for bailey, it starts with education, coming from a family of public school teachers she wants their voices heard. >> i necessity that the intent of the teachers and their hearts are all in the right place and we need to listen to them on how we can get the best resources to the student.

>> reporter: but simply pouring money in to schools is not the answer. she sees government constantly asking for more from taxpayers without transparency and without results. >> i think we need to leverage data to see what programs are working and what programs are not ape if programs are not working we should not be spending money on them anymore. >> reporter: as an outsider bailey believes she's uniquely position todd tackle issues that drives businesses to the suburbs like crime and the wage tax. with you she knows it won't be easy. if elected she would be first women ever to serve as mayor, the first republican in more than 60 years. >> the people who say i really do want the school system to be better, do i want less crime and i want more companies and small businesses to be able to thrive in the city so more people can have jobs, then i think they owe it to themselves and the the city to at least listen to a different perspective. >> melissa bailey will compete in the fall against one of six

philadelphia where we have clouds obscuring tops of the buildings. let take you through a couple live neighborhood network cameras n palmyra new jersey at the palmyra cove nature park. it is gray. we cannot see if the ale sky line there boardwalk plaza and rehoboth, we have a few people on the beach and board but gray glummy same story at letter merion high school in ardmore where road look dry but it is gray and grays continue up toward kutztown where it is only 49 degrees at the moment. it is staying quite chilly. as we you'll in here across the region the severe threat shifted to the south this areas in virginia and maryland got in the 07's and 80's today and that is why these storms are ram pink up down there instead of for us. we have two severe thunderstorm warnings. 6:45 and 7:00 o'clock as these storms move through. these storms are what we would be dealing with if temperatures have listen like they were supposed to. we have cloud cover and showers. temperatures only in the 50's at the airport 567892 in allentown.
