behind the camera. all of you, out there, listening, do it. >> rachel: selma, director ava duvernay recently said that "women making film is a radical act." do you agree with that statement, it's a radical act to be a director, to be a creator in this world? >> patricia: i would agree with it. i, um, never felt that radical myself. i think i was just oblivious.it's almost like a virus you catch, you know. i definitely wanted to make a movie but i thought, "oh, i'll probably be showing it to my friends in the basement." and it, you know it--and then suddenly it's invited to cannes and the whole worlatching and listening, and it's shocking. and i can call myself a filmmaker and make a living doing it. it was like that was a delightful surprise. but certainly i had no dreams of fame and gd is wt the time of wanting to do it. and i think that's actually the healthiest way to do it. people are all caught up in, you know, the red carpet orlory ae--those are--that's a by-product, that's a side show. >> rachel: y >> rachel: it was so great to have you come in and talk today.

issued for parlor she's accused of of leaving her quadriplegic son with only a blanket an bible. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson has the very latest on this investigation. >> reporter: for five days neighbor steven floyd walk past this patch of cobbs creek park which is visible from his home just feet away. little did he know at the time the peril that was right there. >> it hurts. it really hurt because knowing he was this close and none of us knew he was here and somebody could have helped him it's sad. >> reporter: monday morning the police say the mother of a 21-year-old quadriplegic man dumped her own son in this patch of cobbs creek park for five days he laid here without footer food or water unable to plead or call for help in rain, in temperatures that plumetted to 30 degrees. for five days, police say he was left to die. >> see that kid laying there it's heartbreaking to see another human especially your mother can treat someone like

that when you had all the opportunities in the world to turn that kid over to your family members who wanted to care for him. >> reporter: instead police say 41-year-old nia parlor spent those five days visiting her boyfriend in maryland. this weekend police issued a warrant for her arrest after her son was discovered by a jogger friday evening. police say parlor lives at this home on baltimore avenue with her two sons includeing a 16-year-old child now staying with family. floyd who lives around the corner says he was shocked to watch emergency crews pull that man out of the park. much more so to learn they pull him out alive. >> five days, that's god man. that's all it could be. >> reporter: police are telling you the 21-year-old remains in stable condition at children's hospital surrounded by family. in the meantime his mother parlor remains in maryland facing a slew of criminal charges. back here in philadelphia, but that's pending an extradition hearing. reporting from southwest philadelphia i'm steve patterson cbs3 "eyewitness news"

news". also a suspect in the vial l violent of abduction of a woman in the jewelers row section of center city philadelphia will be arraigned tomorrow in south carolina. a judge will then decide whether 31-year-old khiry gay can be extradited back to pennsylvania. federal agents arrested gay on friday at a hotel. earlier this month police say three men grab the 53-year-old woman from a parking garage, dragged here into a van then beat robbed and used a taser on her for hours. she was eventually found in a darby township cemetery and hospitalized. and police say a man in critical condition tonight after a shooting in kingsessing. officers say a 27-year-old was shot three times on the 1500 block of south 55th street this afternoon. right now police have no suspects in this case. a busted water main break caused problems for about 100 residents in montgomery county today. moreland avenue in hatboro as crews repaired that busted main. officials say service was finally back on for customers at 5:00 this evening. and we're wrapping up a near perfect weekend of weather but expect isn't changes as we do head into the work week. meteorologist justin drabick is tracking the good and the bad and the up coming forecast. let's start with the good justin. >> what do you think. >> we'll warm things up. if you liked the temperatures today, you're going love them tomorrow. we'll be running about 10 degrees above average. now these were the highs today if you were outside you enjoyed 67 degrees for the high in philadelphia. 68 in allentown and reading lower 60s towards the shore but overall not bad day in the sunshine. here we are right now. it's getting a little bit cool but not as cold as last night. a bit of a breeze to deal with. 52 for philadelphia. surrounding suburbs are starting to drop down into the 40s with the clear skies and winds generally on the light side less than 10 miles an hour. one of the cooler spots 47 pottstown.

>> there's growing outrage tonight over the alleged rape of a woman at a spring break party in florida. 22-year-old delonte march cities see and ryan austin calhoun arrested on friday. today police released cell phone video of the party which happened last month in panama city beach. they say dozens of people were just feet away from the assault and did nothing to help. investigators believe the woman may have been drugged and unable to rhee remember the incident well enough to report it.

average we do hold down a little bit for the mill of the week because storm system comes in with the threat for some rain but bite the end of the week we warm up once again. compared to this time yesterday much warmer. we had frost advisories that went into effect last night not tonight though. running about three to 10 degrees warmer compared to enter 24 hours ago. it looks like we won't see 30s for the morning temperatures tomorrow morning. 52 in philadelphia. 48 in wilmington. 54 in reading. so not bad this hour. upper 40s in south jersey millville and atlantic city. there's the milder air just to the south and west of the look at pittsburgh 61 degrees this hour. 57 in dc. that's all headed our way. over the next 24 hours. you can thank the south winds right now pretty light less than 10 miles per hour. but it's starting to transport in that milder air. high pressure over us right now. so that's carving out mainly clear skies. notice some thin high clouds building on in. that's actually a sign of the warmer air moving in.

cold front to our west across the midwestern part of the united states. so that's going to impact us later on tuesday. so we get a good 24 hours or so of some nice april weather. not good news for the allergy sufferers with dry conditions. the pollen count there are very high. the trend for the next several days. it lowers on tuesday bast showers but still not enough. so certainly need to take that medication. maple, eighty one per and alder the main pollens outside right now. enjoy the 70s tomorrow. some afternoon clouds build in but southwest warms us there's that cold front that comes through tuesday. best shot for the rain will be through the first half of the day in the morning. some showers could extent in the afternoon. they cool us back down in the 60s but wednesday looking good. high pressure back in control. sunshine temps in the mid 60s pretty where we shall be for this time of year. tomorrow get outside if you can. enjoy it. sun and clouds throughout the entire day. clouds will thicken up late monday night
