important clues. new at 11:00 o'clock tonight, we are learning that police are making significant progress tonight as they search for two wanted drivers. good evening i'm chris may. >> i'm jessica dean. tonight the call for justice in these two hit and runs is growing louder from law enforcement and those who live in the neighborhoods where they happened. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in southwest philadelphia with late breaking new information. david? >> reporter: jessica i just spoke to a police source and that source tells me that detectives have made contact with the attorney of a person of interest. they are looking at in this southwest philadelphia hit-and-run. now behind me this is vigil people have been coming here all night to mourn and remember the life of fer-year-old abdul wilson as a two-year-old in kensington is still on live support. candles and stuffed animals sit a few feet away from where four-year-old abdul wilson was hit and killed. neighbors stopped and said a prayer to honor the little boy who died monday night after a

woman driving his black suv ran over him and kept on going. >> it's like you don't have no remorse for yourself. how could you sleep at night? knowing you hit somebody's child. >> nutter lives in the neighborhood and brought her kids to the scene of the crime to pray for the family. other neighbors were just as upset. >> he's a little boy four years old. he didn't get to live live. he gone. for what? somebody acting wild driving a car acting reckless. >> reporter: this scene was just one of two hit and runs monday night. detectives say 19-year-old josephine rivera and her two-year-old son david were hit by the driver of his white sedan on mascher street. she's recovering but the little boy is said to be on live support. police records show there were seven fatal hit and runs last year in f the two on monday mark the first for 2015. a frightening if a cystic tour delores rulely who lives near the southwest hit-and-run. >> it hurt me. made me sick. >> nut hopes both drivers will come clean and soon. ya'll need to turn yourself for

in february they didn't use taser or service weapon they used a squad car. police say the suspect had stolen a car and then a gun from a wal*mart. in the video he's seen and heard firing the gun into the air. with police close behind. >> moments later as a police cruiser follows closely behind the suspect another driven by officer michael speeds into frame and mows him down. crashing through a cinder block wall. his police chief says the officers actions saved lives. >> if we're going to choose between maybe we'll let him go a little bit farther and see what happens or we'll take him out now and eliminate any opportunities he has to hurt somebody, you're going to air on the side of in favor of the innocent people. >> reporter: the suspect was injured in the crash. but after two days in the hospital, he was sent to jail. police also say that suspect repeatedly ignored warnings to drop his gun and at one point had put the gun to his own head.

volunteer oklahoma sheriffs deputy captured on camera shooting a man who was in custody has now surrendered. 73-year-old robert bates is charged with second degree manslaughter tonight. he's a financial supporter of tulsa police and was riding along with officers when they apprehended a suspect during weapons sting. bates says he reached for what he thought was a taser but wound up shooting the man with his gun instead. bates is free tonight on $25,000 bon. well dozens hit the streets of new york city protesting police violence. the demonstrators started in union scare marched down broadway and tried to block traffic at the brooklyn bridge. sources tell our sister station cbs two off duty nypd sergeant was tack by this crowd. police are looking for video of that assault. like minded protesters gathered in the streets of san francisco outside of city hall tonight. they interrupted a board of supervisors meeting there.

some carried signs that read, black lives matter. new tonight the doctor charged in a corruption case along with new jersey senator robert menendez is indicted a 76 count medicare fraud scheme. 61-year-old dr. sal low man men gin an eye doctor from in order isly faceing additional charges of filing false claims and make making false statements. did the has already pleaded not guilty to corruption. he's accused of of providing nearly $1 million worth of gifts and campaign donations to menendez in exchange for mitt cal favors. senator menendez has pleaded not guilty. >> new at 11:00 fire rips through a bucks county apartment complex destroying one unit there. crews rush to oxford drive and joseph road in warrington just before 8:00 o'clock. they quickly got things under control. no residents were hurt but we are told a dog died from smoke inhalation. and intense fire burned this home in pottstown montgomery county down to the studies.

firefighters found heavy names and smoke coming from the back of that house when they arrived on the 400 block of chestnut street. one person suffered minor injuries. >> philadelphia police and the fbi need your help nabbing a serial bank robber in our area. officials say mitchell is wanted in at least four bank robberies three in the past week. these surveillance photos show mitchell allegedly robbing banks in philadelphia and delaware county. $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to mitchell's arrest. tonight we are hearing from a man who made a disturbing but very fortunate discovery. he found a 21-year-old severely disabled man had was abandoned in the woods allegedly by his own mother. fits roy anderson made that find on friday. he had spot add pair of deer in cobbs creek park and planning to take some pictures a trail led him to discarded wheelchair an blanket. >> it was laying right there and i do like this.

after i do this i saw something move. i jump back. i said oh, my god. >> police have add add attempted murder to growing list of charges facing 41-year-old nia parlor. she is accused of of deserting her son before traveling to visit her boyfriend in maryland. she's currently hospitalized there. the sons of a prominent south jersey couple continue their campaign to discredit a report that their parents died in a murder suicide. john sheridan was the ceo of cooper health. last month somerset county prosecutor ruled sheridan killed his wife joyce and then himself inside of their skill man home back in september. now, one of the sheridan sons is challengeing both the competence and the credibility of that investigation in a scathing letter he certainly to the prosecutor. he says the family is now planning to sue. >> we have no idea what happened. trust me, i wish that i were in charge of this investigation. they never conducted conducted even or

performed even the basics of an investigation. all they did was try to prove that this was murder suicide. >> the prosecutor in somerset county says he stands by the investigation. well today new jersey governor chris christie proposed an overhaul of the social security system as he gears up for a possible gop presidential run. >> these changes will not affect you but will save these programs for your grandchildren. >> during that speech in new hampshire the governor said he would raise the retirement age from 67 to 69 and he would also phase out benefits for people making more than $80,000 a year and eliminate benefits entirely for those making more than 200,000. meantime a new poll shows that 69% of voters in new jersey think that governor christie would not make a good president. according to the rutgers university poll another 24% think he does have what it takes. 7% say they just don't know.

probation for violator. >> last call could be getting later in some pennsylvania bars and restaurants. state representative jordan harris of philadelphia plans to introduce a new legislation to extend liquor sales beyond 2:00 a.m. to 4am at specific locations. harris tells "eyewitness news" the change would boost the city's night live and the economy. >> we're not talking about the neighborhood bars staying open to 4am. we're talking about a target add approach at non residential areas that we can create as entertainment zones. >> it will be up to municipalities to decide whether they want to create those entertainment zones. in the pennsylvania senate an evident underway to overturn philadelphia's recently passed paid sick leave law if passed legislation would prevent all pennsylvania municipalities from imposeing their own sick leave requirements on businesses if it's clear if there's support for the bill in the house. philadelphia's sick leave law takes effect next month. atlantic public school teachers and administrators

temperatures are in the 50s the same goes on the camden side of the river. this is view from campbell's field of course of the delaware, the bridge and our city skyline in the distance on storm scan3 we have a few showers to talk about. in the city taking a break right now. but in parts of lancaster county we have heavy rain that's moving into chester county. so it won't be long now that we see some showers through places like west grove and also possibly into coatesville even into west goshen most this staying through central and southern chester county possibly making it into new castle and also into delaware county a little bit later on tonight and then it's out of here. the heaviest rain through age injuries see and delaware as expected georgetown, rehoboth beach, cape may woodbine, millville nearly half an inch of rain. right now in the 50's. across the board. philadelphia 53. the poconos at 51 degrees. dover at 51. and in our suburbs you can see from quakertown to palmyra even in mt. holly temperatures pretty

steady in the 50's. so this area of low pressure moves oh offshore the skies will clear overnight. tomorrow morning looking fine. high pressure building in. we get a northerly flow not a lot of wind. but plenty of sunshine and that will help temperatures really boost to mild levels. 70 above average for this time year. then looks like wednesday evening is fine. thursday looking good as well. but watching this area of low pressure to the south move a little bit closer to the north. it could bring a few showers on friday. so chance of rain friday and even a chance of rain on saturday. here's the probability of that precipitation. nada for wednesday. nothing to worry about. thursday a 10% chance don't worry about that. friday a 40% chance of showers and saturday just a chance of a scattered shower. but saturday looking pretty good as well overnight the low 47. the rain will end. the skies will clear. northerly winds tomorrow create that deep blue sky. high temperatures right around 70 degrees. and as you look at the planner
