nt up in flames. that fire then spread to a next door neighbor's unit. fire fighters were here putting that out. meanwhile, the daughter the rick tim here 24 year-old female was brought to the hospital, we understand that she has a severe leg injury according to family members and friend of the family that leg actually was cut off as a result of this incident. we now know that the person, that was driving the suv is somebody that has family and friend and are familiar with them. we understand that police, had a description of what direction they went and what area the driver of the vehicle lives at or frequents. we have not heard of any arrests but we will bring you more details as they become available. reporting live, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". also tonight a big break in another hit and run accident. authorities say that they have recovered the car that hit a two-year old boy in kensington. "eyewitness news" was first to show it to you live today as police tell us it is a

positive match to the car seen in this surveillance video and now they have a good idea of who was behind the wheel. a couple from central pennsylvania, turned that car into authorities after seeing it on tv news reports. matt rivers joins us live from kensington where a vigil is scheduled tonight for that little boy killed in monday's hit and run, matt. >> reporter: jessica, this was a major break through for police overnight as you mentioned those two witnesses being able to identify the suspect in this case. police say they do know who they are looking for. they have not released his identity to the news media because they have in the yet been arrested. they are trying to gather more evidence in order to put forward a good arrest warrant and take him into custody but once again that has not happened just yet. meanwhile today on masher street at the victim's home a family struggles to have move forward. "eyewitness news" was first to show you the car police say is one that hit and killed two-year old david alycia on

monday. 2006 infinity was brought to the 19th police district by its owners friday morning but they are not suspects. they had loaned the car to the suspect and when he return it monday they didn't notice anything wrong. >> they didn't notice in damage until the next day and then they put one and one together and aid this may be the car. >> reporter: they will live in williamsport pennsylvania so they drove the car back to philadelphia and cooperated with police helping them identify the suspect. spokesmen for victim's family say they are happy with police progress. >> it is one step of more steps that need to have happened. family is looking for closure. >> reporter: in the meantime raw emotion and a i am prompt you vigil for the young boy his grandmother shedding tears for little boy everyone seems to have love, all of these people showed up from the light house community sent's cross the street, a place where david's mom josey works. >> bottom line is you feel like you don't have enough tears in you to cry for david. >> reporter: cry for david they say, and for swift

now. it is not so much the result but process that is had has fans scratching their head. >> so surprising but wednesday we were there when they said they had not made a decision. thursday night apparently there had been a decision made and craig berube was informed this morning. we have james palmer who was there at that official announcement this afternoon and he joins us live from chickie and pete's, hi, james. >> yes, the chief is now without a tribe. craig berube had a winning record over his two seasons with the flyers but failed to make the the playoffs and general manager ron hextall says one of the aspects of his friend's coach style was the exact reasons for his dismissal. >> in the end the decision was made because i didn't feel like craig got enough out of our group. there is a bunch of individual therefore collectively, so last night a made a decision and spoke to craig this morning. >> i don't think they had motivation. that is on the coach.

damon. that is all coming up when i join you inside, i'll see you later on in the broadcast. >> thanks, kathy. philadelphia police shoot a man armed with two guns in frankford. this is weapon police recovered a glock 9-millimeter just were midnight police were called to the akron and pratt on the report of the gunshots. the as they approached the scene a man darted from the crowd waving a gun. police say they told him to stop and they say, he did not. that is when they fired hitting him in the leg. suspect was in stable condition at last check. a construction worker dies after falling 80 feet at a university construction site that accident happened after 8:00 this morning at this construction site on the 2900 block of chestnut street. fire fighters transported the four two-year old man to presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead. no word on what caused that man to fall. murder charges have been filed against a mother and her boyfriend in the death of the two-year old in delaware

county. thirty year-old shanon matthews is facing charges as is 31 year old daniel grafton. back in february authorities were called to the doctor's office in norwood for an unresponsive two years old. little mason hunt was later pronounced dead at a hospital. >> this child has on his body multi wound, multi i am bruises, the victim of being bat order, and being beaten. >> matthews and grafton are behind bars right now. delaware county children and youth services were actively supervising mason and his brother at the time of the mason's death. well, philadelphia police have made a third arrest in the brutal beating of the man at a olney gas station. keisha dougins was arrested on attempted murder charges and other charges overnight. she joins serena yocouple anal

they a galliard who were charged in connection with that attack. the it happened on april 7th and caught on videotape. police say that those women and a few others jumped out of the minivan and then beat the victim with a hammer and a piece of wood, mistakenly believing that he had hit a child. the victim was hospitalized in critical condition. an ohio man accused of prodding a terror attack on a military base or prison pleaded in the guilty in court today. federal indictment says 23 year-old mohammad trained with terrorist in syria and return to the u.s. with plans to kill three or four soldiers execution style. mohammad, a u.s. citizen originally from somalia, already made one court appearance this year when he was brought up on state charges. he faces up to 38 years in prison if convicted. hundreds of the first responders are participating in a home land security exercise in burlington county, "eyewitness news" at joint base maguire dixon lakehurst today.

this crash was all the buzz in washington state you can say. millions of honey bees were spilled on to a highway, and a semi truck carrying a load of bees overturn while trying to merge scattering the boxes of bees all across that road. police and bee keepers, worked to clear the insects but the driver was not hurt. well, if you live or work in philadelphia, chances are you have seen new bike racks popping up around town as part of the effort to change the way many of us see the city. >> very great idea. it is philly's brand new bike share program and three on your side consumer reporter jim donovan takes it for a ride. >> reporter: other cities have them and beginning next thursday philly will offer a bike share program too. >> there are hundreds of

we're continuing to follow wreaking news tonight, search is underway for a driver whom police say intentionally ran down a woman with an suv on north 17th street, in the logan section of the city. the victim's leg was severed in, that incident. during the chaos, the woman's house also caught fire. accident investigators say they are confident that this carries the one that hit and killed a two-year old boy in kensington monday night. cars owners who live in williamsport told police they loaned their car to the

deadly hit and run in southwest philadelphia. police know who the driver is but many are wondering why she isn't in custody yet. todd quinones has been digging deeper into this and he joins us now with more, todd. >> reporter: jessica, right now there is some frustration here among family members and neighbors we have been talking to. they are wondering why more progress has not been made in the investigation in the death of this four year-old boy. graphic surveillance video which we are not showing captures moment four year-old abdul wilson was run over. >> he had his whole life to live. >> reporter: neighbors are upset the that the driver who fled has not been charged. police indicate a lawyer claiming to represent her has been in contact with the authorities. >> she was quickly getting a lawyer but not quick to stop to help a child. that is in the right. >> reporter: 6:30 monday night the driver of the ford edge hit wilson as he darted out on to south 57th sleet in the kingsessing neighborhood. witnesses say the driver

your help as they look for a man who shoot another man over a pair of shoes. this was the scene outside happy inn baron main street. there was a disagreement of some kind that spilled out on to the the street. you can see the suspect waving the gun. then you see the crowd reaction as the shots are fired just outside the range of the camera. police say that this man ronnie read is the man they are looking for they say he shot the victim after the two had that fight. >> incident occurred over an argument inside the bar that mr. reid was stepping on a sneaker of the victim. >> darby police say that reid is known to be in locations both in philadelphia and cash i boro. they consider him armed and dangerous. the victim is recovering tonight from some serious wound. we are hearing from a southwest airlines passengers who says a woman next to him poked him with the pen because he was snoring on the plane. take a look at this video from

spare the life of the man who killed their son. bill and denise richard wrote an essay for boston globe explaining their reasoning writing we are in favor of and would support the the department of justice in taking the death penalty off the table in exchange for the the defendant's spending the rest of his life in prison without any possibility of release and waving all of his rights to appeal. >> no interest in a dad who lost his son and doing what a daddies supposed to do. >> reporter: tsarnaev was found guilty earlier this month of all 30 counts. the sentencing phase of the trial when jurors will decide if tsarnaev should be sentenced to death begins on tuesday. the the richard say the past two years have been the most trying of their lives. they were both injured in the blast as were martin's two siblings. they wrote the defendant murdered our eight year-old son, harmed our seven year-old daughter and stole part of our soul. we know that the government has its reasons for seeking the the death penalty but the continued pursuit of that
