there will be a breeze out of the east, but rather cooling direction and expect that during the day as well but still a very nice day, lets put this into motion and you can see as we go through this morning we have clear skies by 5:00 o'clock some cloud start to move in here and as we move in the overnight time period the rain moves in and we will continue to detail the timing on that rain, how much we can expect and when it is all over, that is all coming up nicole. carol, thank you. delaware state the police are now investigating a shooting at a delaware state university greek picnic. three people were shot and injured saturday night at a cook out on the dover campus. for a brief time after that shooting students were told to stay inside of they are dorm rooms while police searched for that shooter. nine student were asked to leave campus. the campus president harry williams says the shooting took place at 8:00 p.m. at the annual cook out. he said victim's names have not been released and it isn't

clear if they are delaware state students. victim injuries are not life threatening and shooter, at least at last check was still at large. philadelphia a homicide detectives, have been call to the scene of the overnight shooting around 1:00 a.m. police were called to the home on the 700 block of north preston street. now inside they found a man with gunshot wound and first floor bedroom. we will update the this store which more details as we get it the throughout our broadcast. willing will bureau police investigating an early morning shooting on the unit block of morecader lane. several suspects were maybe tane. one was air lifted to hospital and received care for trauma there is no word on the condition. members of the st. joes prep community will gather later this morning at a private mass as they mourn loss of the freshman football player, who collapsed and died during practice this weekend. cbs-3's steve paterson spoke with one of his teammates. >> that will hurt for quite a

while. >> reporter: minutes before he died moment before everything changed, like any given saturday, they were shooting the breeze. >> i didn't want to believe it. i was talking to him this morning before he went to practice. he said he would text me after practice. >> reporter: fifteen year-old kid jackson would learn just a few hours later it would be last conversation they would ever share. >> i cried a few times. >> reporter: school officials say 15 year-old st. joseph prep freshman brian gillyard died during a football conditioning work out. school spokesperson wouldn't comment on the investigation but promising running back simply collapsed. he was rushed to temple university hospital and pronounced dead. >> he was someone everyone wants to be around. he was funny cool replied, good grade. >> reporter: school officials added to that saying in a statement quote that the st. joseph prep community is deeply saddened by the tragic death of our freshman ryan gillyard and our condolences go out to his parent and

family. ryan was a great person and proud to be part of our community. d.a. vio on was at a track meet during a work out. the teen still in the jersey still tries to believe it believes in this. >> we lost a good one but he is somewhere better now. >> reporter: officials say a private mass is scheduled for sunday morning right back here on the school ground, grief counselors are scheduled to be here throughout the the weekend and throughout next week. reporting from the cam puts of the st. joes prep, i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile a child is in the hospital, after she was attacked by a dog in cobbs creek. police say that the the three-year old was sitting with her great grandmother when she was hauled by the dog this happened in the 5900 block of washington avenue around 5:00 o'clock. that child was taken to children's hospital with bite wound to her head and her eye. the she's now in critical condition. police believe that dog was jealous of the child. >> i cannot speak for them i

know they'll val wait the dog. they will test it. and the the fate of the doggies going to be in their hands. >> great grandmother is 84 years old. she was treated for a bite wound on her hand. today friend and family will begin to pay their final respects to the young victim of the hit and run last week in kensington. viewing will be held for two-year old david alycia. he was hit the by a car walking with his mother josephine on mash are street monday night. a funeral will be held for david tomorrow. police have have recovered the car involve in the hit and run crash but so far no charges have been filed. meantime calls for justice at a in memorial service for another young hit and run victim. grief stricken family and friend of latif wilson gathered at bible way temple in west philadelphia wilson was struck and killed by an suv playing with his siblings on 57th street the in southwest philadelphia on monday. the crime was actually captured on camera.

family members want at alleged hit and run driver to turn herself in. well, search is on for a vehicle that struck a young girl in olney. this is all happened at fourth and wellin around 8:00 last night. an eyewitness tells us that the the driver stopped briefly and then took off. the the child was taken to children hospital with serious injuries. police have not released a description of the vehicle or driver. philadelphia police make an arrest in the violent love triangle attack in logan. the officers took a person of interest into custody at the northwest detective after she came in for questioning. now her name has not been released but police say a white dodge durango struck beatrice spence on the 4400 brook of 17th street friday afternoon. a romantic rival was allegedly behind the wheel of the vehicle on the 6000 block of mar vine street yesterday morning. doctors had to amputate spence's leg. a construction worker is critically injured at a site in the fairmount section of the philadelphia.

this all happened on the 1700 block of folsom street around 10:30 in the morning. police say that the the 30 year-old man came in contact with the live wire while working on that property. he was rushed to hahnemann hospital in critical condition. well, five teens allegedly inspired by isis are now behind bars in australia. they are accused of plotting an attack against police officers and a ceremony for military ceremonies. cbs news correspondent wendy gilette has the details. >> reporter: police say this man 18 year-old and hey friend were plot to go carry out a terrorist attack during a holiday to remember veteran later this month. the the isis inspired plot allegedly included a plan to target police officers in melbourne. the holiday called amsack day is commemorated on april 25th. >> people should turn up at amsack die event in the large et cetera possible numbers. >> reporter: police carried

terrain of the dam has made it very difficult for fire fighters to gain access to that fire f conditions persist fire officials say it is headed straight for a populated area. well terrifying moments for university of connecticut students as a bus they are riding in erupts into flames. the students were heading to boston when that bus caught fire. some student say they complained to the driver earlier in that trip about smelling and seeing smoke. driver apparently did nothing about it. everyone got off safely the the bus company is now investigating. well, bad weather forced flights to denver to be diverted and one flight was a arriving from kansas city. it ended up in colorado springs where passengers stayed grounded for more than six hours. vanita nair shows us how it all played out. >> this is cell even if video shot on board. >> oh, my god. >> reporter: you can see passenger frustration. you can hear it. >> technically they don't to have do anything with us until

we have been out here for three hours. >> reporter: republic airlines operated the united flight grounded by lightening. federal rules state an airline is only allowed to keep passengers on the the tarmac for three hours unless there is a security or safety issue or taxiing in disrupts the airport. the passenger lisa davis said she sat on the tarmac much locker. >> we wound up here 7:24. we were stranded on that plane for seven hours. >> reporter: passengers say pilot told them if they got off the the plane they would miss any connecting flights. they had no air conditioning, were served nothing but water and crackers and claimed the aircraft started to smell. when we reached out to republic airlines they had a different version of the events saying time on the plane had apparently been exaggerated. heather leonard with the colorado springs airport feels this has all been a big miscommunication.

to get out, enjoy yourself this morning. fifty-two in trenton 567895 wilmington. in the 40's to the the north ape west of philadelphia but otherwise a great the start to the daze and it is really light where we are supposed to be this time of the the year with high temperatures this afternoon getting into the middle 60's unlike the 81 that we saw yesterday afternoon. now storm scan three is showing two things. one we have a little bit of cloud cover over our area, but also this, and this is what will be coming in our direction, and it will be here probably about one or 2:00 in the morning. we will tart to see first bits of rain coming in the area. but that is what monies going to be looking like for us but until then, we have got mostly sunny skies really nice looking day to day but this system moves in here, temperatures on monday with the warm front coming through will be higher then today. they should have stayed or at least the way it looked yesterday that they stay in the the middle 60's but instead with this warm front coming through as strong as it is, we will find these temperatures getting in the

lower 70's tomorrow but it does come with that rain and maybe some thunder as we moved through the afternoon. cold front follows through that clears us out basically by the time we get to later in the morning on tuesday temperatures on tuesday cooling down in the 60's. let's time this out and see what we have got going on. computer model says at 5:00 this afternoon we will get some cloud over us, by the time we hit one or 2:00 in the morning we are starting to see first bits of rain coming in the area by the time we hit 5:00 o'clock the the way it is timed out right now we will see heavy rain in some spots indicated by orange, yellow, fairly heavy rain as well. this is 5:00 o'clock tomorrow morning, 7:00 o'clock tomorrow morning we are at bus stop getting in your car going to work and we are looking at some of this heavier rain. 11:00 o'clock in the morning we still have solve rain. by 5:00 o'clock it is drying out, we have scattered showers around and as we move on through 10:00 o'clock maybe even still a couple of showers, are there a few more, tuesday morning about
