we had 81 degrees yesterday. not as warm. we are in the middle 60's for our high temperature but a really nice day. we have ocean city right now. the notice high thin cloud. it is cutting dunn on any shadows on the boardwalk but not on the number of people out there. they are definitely there. notice camera shaking. we have gusty wind, at the present time. reading we also that high thin overcast cutting down on the shadows that you may find there. as we take a look at what we are dealing with at least over the next bit of time, we have some cloud over us right now. they will thin out. then they will definitely thicken up because you can see to the south that is a storm system that is coming here bringing as you lot of rain. it starts in the early overnight time period as we go through early monday morning. daytime today dry enjoy yourselves out there. 56 degrees mr.ly in philadelphia we have 54 in trenton. fifty-six in wilmington. really nice morning. things will be warming up but not as high as yesterday. expect a cooler but still very

nice day ahead. temperatures at ease nal normal today around 65 degrees. machine they does definitely get soggy so day breaks down like this 61 by noon and our high coming in later this afternoon as a few more cloud start to come in the picture. rainy on monday. what about the rest of the week? i will show thaw with the rest of the week with the eyewitness seven day forecast. >> carol, thank you. right now three people are injured after gunfire erupts in the delaware state university greek picnic. the shooting took place on dsu dover campus saturday night. dsu president harry williams said in the the statement that the shooting took place around 8:00 o'clock last night at the annual cook out. it is in the clear if the victims attend delaware state. the university has in the identified them. the last night campus police toll students to stay inside their dorm rooms while that investigation took place and also asked non-students to leave campus. the campus was still closed outsiders, at last check.

this saddens me because i know students at delaware state university we do know how to conduct ourselves properly but when you people other people outside of the university and they don't know our core values and they don't necessity how we operate that is when it becomes a problem. >> police say victim injuries are not life threatening so some good news there. the shooter is not in custody. philadelphia homicide detectives have been called to the scene of the overnight shooting around 1:00 a.m. police were called to the home on the 700 block of north preston street. inside a first floor bedroom they encountered a man gunshot wound. that man was taken to presbyterian hospital where he later died. in willingboro police responding to an early morning shooting on the unit block of mercato lane. several were detain while police sorted through statements. one victim was, air lifted to trauma care but there is no word on a condition. this is a sad story. members have the st. joes

prep community will come together this morning at a private mass as they mourn loss of the freshman football player who collapsed and died during practice this weekend. cbs-3's steve paterson spoke with within of his teammates. >> that will hurt for quite a while. >> reporter: minutes before he died moment before everyone change, like any given saturday da the vio on and ryan were shooting the breeze. >> we were talking with him this morning before he went to practice. he would text me after practice. >> reporter: fifteen year-old kid-jackson would learn just a few hours later it would be the last conversation that they would ever share. >> i cried a few times. >> reporter: school officials say 15 year-old st. joseph prep freshman ryan gillyard died during a football conditioning work out. a school spokesperson wouldn't comment on the investigation but promising running back simply collapsed. he was rushed to temple university hospital and pronounced dead. >> he was someone everyone wants to be around. he was funny cool polite, had good grade.

>> reporter: school officials added saying in a statement quote that the saint guess he have prep community is deeply sat end by tragic death the of our freshman ryan gillyard and condolences go out you the to his parents and family. ryan was a great person and someone we were proud to have as part of our community. d avion was at a track meet during the work out. the teen, still in his jersey still trying to believe it, believes in this. >> we lost a good one but he is somewhere better now. >> reporter: officials tell us that a private mass is scheduled for sunday morning right back here on the school ground, grief counselors are scheduled to be here throughout the weekend and throughout early next week. reporting from the campus of saint guess prep i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile a child is in the hospital after she was attacked by a dog in cobbs creek. police say the the three-year old was sitting with her great grandmother when she was mauled by her uncle's dog this happened in the 5900 block of washington avenue around

5:00 o'clock. the the child was taken to children hospital with bite wound to her head and eye and is now in critical condition. police believe that the dog was jealous at the the child. >> they took the dog. i cannot speak for them. i necessity they will do an evaluation on the dog. they will test it the phase of the dog is in their hands. >> the great grandmother is 84 years old. she was treated for a bite wound on her hand. today friend and family will pay their final respects to the young victim of the hit and run last week in kensington. viewing will be held for two-year old david alycia. he was hit by a car while walking with his mother, josephine, on masher street monday night. a funeral will be held for alycia tomorrow. police have have recovered a car involve in the hit and run but so far no charges have been filed. meantime calls for justice at a memorial service for another young hit and run

victim. grief stricken family and friend of latif wilson gathered at bible way temple in west philadelphia wilson was struck and killed by an suv playing with siblings on 57th street in southwest philadelphia on monday. the crime was captured on camera. family members want at alleged hit and run driver to turn herself in. well, search is on for a vehicle that struck a young girl in olney. this all happened at fourth and wellin around 8:00 o'clock last night. eyewitnesses tell us that the driver stopped briefly but then took off. the child was taken to children's hospital with serious injuries. police have not released a description of the vehicle or its driver. philadelphia police make an arrest in the violent love triangle attack in logan. officers took a person of interest into custody at northwest detective after she came in for questioning. now her name has in the been released and police say a white dodge durango intentionally struck beatrice spence on the 4400 block of 17th street friday afternoon. a romantic rival was allegedly

they were plotting an isis style attack in melbourne next week. investigators found knives sword during the raid on their homes. they believe that the suspects were going to attack police officers. today we mark a somber anniversary. it was 20 years ago today that a bomb blast outside the the federal building in oklahoma city claimed lives of 168 people. reporters ryan nobles has more on how the the city has change these two decade later. >> reporter: it is often first thing that people think of when they hear oklahoma city. >> it is an explosion that has happened at federal court building in downtown oklahoma city. >> reporter: someone detonated a rider truck filled with

explosives outside the the building. the the explosion destroyed or damaged more than 300 buildings in a 16 block radius and killed 168 people. the bombing in oklahoma city was an attack on innocent children and defense less citizens. >> reporter: within days the the two men behind the attack were behind bars. in oklahoma state trooper pulled over army veteran timothy mcveigh for driving without a license plate 90 minutes after the attack. shortly before his release, two days later, he was recognized as a bombing suspect. the his accomplish terry nichols turned himself in the same day. mcveigh was quick and given the death penalty. he was executed in 2001. >> timothy james mcveigh has been executed by lethal injection. >> reporter: nichols was also convicted and is saving life in prison. in the years after the tragedy oklahoma city banded together to turn the tragedy into

something positive. they have built a memorial on the site of the former murray federal building. it was dedicated exactly five years after the bomb took place. each victim is honored with a symbolic chair including 19 smaller chairs in honor of the children that died. the selfless action that is average people took the in the moments after the bombing and beyond became known as the oklahoma standard. that is as they gathered together to remember the fallen organizers are asking everyone to recommit to that standard, a principal that lives on, two decade after terror ripped through this city. in oklahoma city, i'm ryan nobles reporting. now, in california, a fast moving wild fire forced the evacuation of the 300 homes. the fire was reported, late saturday afternoon after it broke out in the propertyo flood basin near a southern california dam. irregular terrain is making it difficult for fire fighters as you can imagine but as conditions persist fire

to the day. we will find conditions really nice this afternoon but not as brilliantly beautiful and certainly not as summer-like as yesterday. a few cloud right now over us but they are high thin variety. this is what is coming. cloud will lower later on this afternoon and tonight and overnight and then this rain start to move in. i have a time line when that is coming in. 49 degrees. this is temperature in rehoboth beach. we will notice wind out of the east and they are 21 miles an hour. we will get easterly wind. people still on the boardwalk, it is sunday. we don't care fit is breezy. heading to the the shore today in the middle 50's for the high temperature. we are some 10 degrees warmer in philadelphia at 65. poconos 62 degrees today. it is a nice day in all locations, tomorrow not as nice but if you want rain we have got it tomorrow and that may be nice in your book. the as we go through time here's our computer model that pegs what we are likely to find. it says cloud by 5:00 this

afternoon and more then what we are seeing right now. by the time we hit 4:00 a.m. we are starting to see rain moving in the philadelphia area. by the time we get to 7:00 a. m we will see heavy pockets of rain where orange color is where it is even heavier. that is 7:00 o'clock tomorrow morning, the way it is right now, this is a look right now at 9:00 o'clock for monday morning. we can still see heavy pockets moving on through. these sort of lessen as we head in the afternoon hours but it is not over, complete thely because then a cold front comes through. do we sianni hear some thunder out there and some lightening. it is possible if a thunderstorm can come in the afternoon. the these rain showers though continuing until early morning hours, on tuesday, and then they get out of here and we are left with better weather conditions. maybe to the north still some rain chances up in that area. otherwise i think we've got the a pretty good soaker come for us tomorrow. the temperatures will be in the 70's but at least rainfall amounts. this computer model wants to put an inch to an inch and a

sixty-four for this afternoon. we will cloud up later on today and then we will see rain moving in after that. i'll finish out time line and talk about the amounts coming up nicole. carol, thank you. delaware police are investigating a shooting at delaware state the university that injured three people. that shooting took place saturday night on dsu's dover campus. shooting happened around 8:00 o'clock as a precaution campus police toll students to stay inside their dorm rooms while police investigated. none in students were asked to leave the campus. campus was still closed at last check, victim's injuries not life threatening and shooter was not in custody. well, fire officials say an unintended barbecue may be cause of the fire that destroyed a house in mount holly. house is located on the unit block of church street. throughout the night fire fighters battled hot spots that continue to flare up. fire consume back half of that house, family including a

be on history. >> it is an incredible task in putting it all together and it causes my mixture of joy and anxiety. >> reporter: philadelphia will be at center of the pope francis universe. archbishop charles chaput will be at his side. >> i think we will be prepare for the holy father himself but i'm worried about the crude that the city can really manage such a huge infusion of people. >> reporter: as many as 2 million people when pope francis climbs steps of the art museum to say mass sunday september 27th. >> it is a huge infusion of people but it is also a great security risk in terms of the holy father. >> i think the holy father is very much aware of the security of the crowd as well as his own. people think about his security, but there is a lot more people present then just one person, so, we're worried about everyone. >> reporter: federal department of home land

nearly 20 years ago. have you seen his personality change, from the man that you have known and the man that you know right now. >> he is a are different man he was and everybody that knew him says that. he smiles more than he did before. he is more outing. he was very reserved, and kind of introspective and now he seems to be, very much energized by the large number of people come to hear him in the church we have a tradition of referring to that as a grace of office. it is somehow do you things thaw didn't think you were capable of doing because god supplies what is lacking in you personally. i think all of us has some responsibility even up doing things we never thought we could do before. it is because of the grace of god. >> archbishop chaput add in myths that grace has helped him coming from denver to philadelphia in september 2011. >> describe the even of coming to philadelphia a young to older church to a church that is diminishing in size, to a church that had few buildings,

and institutions to a church that is over burdened in some sense with buildings and institutions. the it could not have been more of a contrast. the it is hard for people to yet to imagine we don't have money because they are using to having archdiocese of philadelphia having resources. for to us discover that we spent them all was something that people are still surprised by. in terms of the sex abuse i think, you know, the lord has healed a lot. part of that is with the passage of time where god's grace word on our hearts but i think that people think that the decisions that have been made have been good for the healing of the church on many levels. we always have more to do in terms of healing people victimized by sexual abuse. >> one future issue that worries the the archbishop is what he described as a genuine shortage of priests parish mergers have helped with the redistributes. >> i'm ordaining about a third of the number of people that i retire each year and that eventually will catch up with us and we have to be prepared

to the 3-d walk that is just about to get started. now all of this is to help promote awareness for need for organ and tissue transplants and donations. the this all started about 20 years ago, when 800 people showed up. now as you mentioned there are thousands. they are expecting 12,000 to be out here today. not only is this a chance to show awareness and support but also a chance for donor families and recipient toss come together. as you mentioned there are about 6,100 people that are in need of transplants just in our area. that number nationwide is about 123,000. so, all of these people out here these are friend and families of donors, recipients who met a lot of great people. one young lady gotti heart transplant and is now a doctor. 3-d walk is just about to get started. lots of great teams and great people out here and nicole, we will send it back to you for right now.
