severe weather. we're tracking these storms moving east/north east a few in the baltimore washington area but not much popping up, on storm scan three in philadelphia, but right now, a cell popping up in the northern part, of burlington county and also in lancaster county. if we zoom in you can see area we're talking about heavy rain, hail indication in pemberton. if you can zoom in more you will see location moving north east at 20 miles april hour. over 2 inches an hour. good news is these storms will dump rain and move out. where we do see them they will drop a good bunch of rain in the very short period of time. through burlington, long 295, may even have to pull off side of the road and wait until this storm passes because of the heavy rain associated witt. along burlington jacksonville road that is where that strong cell is. we will see these popping up throughout the evening. damaging wind a threat throughout the evening period, also hail. we have seen that popping up. threat of the isolated tornado. lets talk more about the

rest of the way out there. what tebow is trying to do is impress chip kelly starting with off season work outs which started this afternoon at the novacare complex with day one of voluntary work outs but kelly and tebow due to league rules cab not work out on the field together until further in the process is. kelly looking to take any advantage he can of finding ways to get a w tim tebow could potentially be that swiss army knife player thaw can put anywhere on the field. tebow a backup quarterback most likely with this team but he can find other ways to make him early important in the offense. he need to be as flexible as possible putting himself in variety of spots in the offense to show kelly that he can showcase talents outside of just throwing the the football because there is five quarterbacks on this 90 minute roster right now. if you look at where kelly has them slated, we don't know that just yet but looking for him to possibly beat out matt barclay for that third quarterback position.

marathon and it comes 24 hours before the sentencing phase begins in the trial of dzhokhar tsarnaev, man convicted in the 2013 bombings that killed three people and injured 260 others at the finish line. cbs news correspondent chris van cleve is in boston. >> reporter: for most of the the day steady stream of runners made their way through a steady boston rain. grueling 11,919th marathon is longest running foot race in the world. >> first time i ran it, it was the the most challenging thing i have ever donnas a human being. >> reporter: it was a cold, winnie rainy race for roughly 30,000 who entered the boston marathon and estimated 1 million spectators who lined the route to cheer them on. caroline roadish won finishing in two hours, 24 minutes and 55 seconds. her first boston victory. >> i was like she's going to get it. no, not today.

>> for this man it was his second win at the finish line of the boston marathon. he donated the medal he won to a city rock by deadly bombings that went off shortly avenue crossed the finish line. >> i'm happy to win, for number one and a it is boston strong. >> reporter: security was tight at the marathon sentencing phase for dzhokhar tsarnaev is set to begin tuesday. but for now all eyes are on the victors and the people of boston. chris van cleve for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". in washington it had happened again, another security breach at the white house when a man jumped the fence there. fifty-four year-old jerome hunt of california, was arraigned today and charged with unlawful entry. authorities say hunt was carrying a package when he scaled the fence late last night. package was later examined and found to be harmless. of course, secret service recently announced plans to install steel spikes on that fence to deter this kind of

storm scan three is gearing up for a busy knight, most of the areas under a tornado watch and will be until 10:00 o'clock tonight. meteorologist kathy orr is tracking threat for severe storms. we will speak to her in a few minutes. meantime police released surveillance video of the incident involving a death of the 25 year-old man freddie gray, a baltimore man who had been in police custody. gray, died yesterday at the the hospital, one week, after his encounter were four officers. now investigators say gray was running away from those officers when he was arrested and placed in a van. but soon thereafter he had to be rush to the hospital with a severe spinal injury. the video of his arrest apparently doesn't show exactly how he was injured. i want our resident to know that we will get the answers, to these questions

and commissioner bats and the baltimore police department are moving very swiftly to complete a thorough, comprehensive investigation, as soon as possible. >> hundreds of protesters turned out in baltimore today demanding answer about this. the police commissioner has ordered a least write of police rules there on moving arrestees and calling for medical help. european leaders are saying that they will take action to stop migrants in dying from the mediterranean after a boat sank off the coast of libya over the weekend. hundreds are feared dead after that ship carrying nearly 1,000 people capsized, officials say that this could be the mediterranean's deadliest known migrant tragedy. another, migrant ship in the mediterranean capsize today this one off the greek island coast. three people died in this one and 93 passengers were rescued from a boat carrying dozens of migrants. rescue crews are continuing their search for survivors. >> thousands office migrants

pattern. we have rain this morning but we are getting a second round and this could be severe. and, we are talking about a 1/2 punch. new we have severe part. we are talking about a tornado watch right in effect through about 10:00 o'clock through most of the region. we are seeing storms popping up on storm scan three. we will see observations at bottom of the screen courtesy of our eyewitness weather watchers who will be busy tonight. on storm scan three you can see green, yellow orange and red are on the screen. we have strong storms, nothing severe just yet but one has gotten my attention. you can see flashing red that is a torrential downpour and if you are familiar with this area 295 north at florence and columbus a popular exit and you can cut over to pennsylvania, this way, over the bridge. so very heavy rain. this is a situation where you have to pull off and wait until heavy rain passes. it is heading toward bordentown, 295 north and toward 195, precipitation rates at about one and a quarter inches per hour and as

as "eyewitness news" celebrates 50 years, we are looking back on major news events and five years ago today, the nation witnessed the worst oil spill in u.s. history n2010 and explosion on bp deep water horizon rig caused a massive oil spill, that would ultimately dump an estimated 3.1 million barrels of crude oil in the gulf of mexico. eleven workers died in that accident and it took 87 days until the under water well was

otherwise we are seeing sun in the region. more sun we will gel more heat we will get and more fuel we will get for these storms. we are in a enhanced risk, a new category issued last year by storm prediction center, enhanced risk between slight and moderate. you can see tornado watch in our area down through d.c., severe thunderstorm for virginia and north carolina and another tornado watch in north and south carolina, where they did just have a tornado warning no warnings issued for our area just yet but note wind. do you see he these win, coming from a southeasterly direction. earlier they were a southerly win. when you see that wind back from south to south east that is a back wind. what it indicate is sharp pressure falls moving from the west, it indicate that this cold front has strength witt. when wind changes direction and speed with height that is what we call win sheer, we will see. that win at surface from the south east, wind aloft from the west causing rotation and that is why this tornado watch has been issued.

of the south jersey. as we zoom in you can see what we expect here. on storm scan three we will see showers and then are storms through central part of the pennsylvania another line forming through baltimore and washington but look at the length of real estate we are talking about with severe weather watches and warnings from atlanta through philadelphia over 700 miles. this is all moving toward east/north east. as cold front gets close their severe weather threat will continue to grow. you can see one fell over reading, berks county moving north. heavy downpour associatable with that. more along chesapeake. we have the few here, the warming water, moist air. i do anticipate more of these storms coming through chester county, northern new castle and into philadelphia as the evening wears on. once again that tornado watch in effect until 10:00 o'clock tonight. these are the threats. big threat of scattered down powers heavy rain inch an hour, large hail and possibility of severe storms. that would be an inch in diameter
