>> this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". heavy rain, thunder lightning, even hail pounding the area overnight. but, as you can see there from storm scan3 that wet weather is moving out just what we want to hear, because yesterday morning's commute was no treat. so hoping for better one morning, katy? >> that's one thing we have going for us, at least moving out a lot more quickly than yesterday's d so we should see this clearing out probably in the next two hours or so. but yes, it is still falling heavily. >> and the hail that struck? >> the hail that struck, as well, yes, couple of hail reports locally. most confined, as we take you on out to the maps here, we will show you what happened. quick check on storm scan, obviously had thunderstorms rumbling through, everybody in the studio was woken up by them. we took a tail. now those have since fizzled really just to scattered showers, some of which are stud as we look at the wider zoom, most of the reports that came around our area, central pa specially were, in fact, hail reports. there were hands full that rolled in across our area, too, you can see one up toward

new york city, but even at philly international, there was actually a report of half-inch size hail, that happened at 1:39 this morning same line every thunderstorms that woke everybody up. and, lavin is casino of an un sexy way of talking about it, but that equate basically to small marble or small plane m and m. that's basically yes i think that helps wrap your head around it. it was not a peanut m and m, a plane m and m. that gives you better sense how big we are talking about in terms of hail size. 58 degrees the temperature in atlantic sit much lighter wind right now but we are going to see that kick up with time. and quickly those skies start to clear out if we were left with any clouds at 9:00 a.m. quickly thinning, the breeze again, helps to get some that far cloud cover scoured out of here. temperatures will take a bit of a hit in the wake that far cold front. but they are taking a hit back to seasonable. so not terribly chilly out there today. justin, over to you. >> good morning, i prefer the peanut m and m's myself. but not for hail though. hail, you want it small. >> let's be clear.

>> exactly. we talk about the traffic right now still wet roads to deal, with left over showers little road spray to deal with specially south jersey, slow down little bit. we start to dry things up as well. take you to 76 past 202 volume increasing just little bit. but we are moving this hour. again, just little bit of wet road to deal with into new jersey we go, the 42 freeway northbound are the headlights again right now things are moving pretty good. and again visibility may be down in some spots when you encounter some of the showers. we keep you into new jersey, check out few routes, 55, 42, again, volume looking good, both northbound, southbound, just watch out for the wet roads. also the a.c. expressway, looking good in both directions currently this hour. still, with left over showers around, some left over flood to go deal with. in brooklawn, brooklawn circle closed the alternate i-295 also flooding going on in camden on the admiral wilson boulevard to cooper river had high tide earlier this morning, so coming off. that will mullica hill watch out. downed tree as well, high street between chestnut court

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is outside borough hall right now it tell you more about it, justin? >> reporter: good morning, ukee yes lots of drama here in colwyn, just yesterday, the former borough manager showed us here with a stash of shredded documents her former peers here called her bluff. might be asking why does this matter? some say in those documents, there is a paper trail that could put together colwyn's fractured finances. >> paula brown turned up at colwyn borough hall, holding what she says are discarded and destroyed documents. >> this is how this borough became $1 million in debt. because cash like this would come in to the borough and the cash would not be deposited into the bank. >> brown says the papers were

found in a park yesterday stashed in a dumpster. she says it is nothing new. >> this is a practice that has been going on for years. and it is now continuing. why is this thrown in the dumpster? >> first every all i would like to say i don't know what you guys are doing but i'm very embarrased. >> the back and forth at borough hall taking its toll on colwyn residents councilmen seem upset too. >> no proof anyone did any shreading of documents absolutely not. >> there was no dock the shredded today. >> brown and the councils hill been at odds for weeks since members voted her out of offers earlier this month. what was called a cost cutting move. brown has said she is uncovering wrong-doing and so are officials. >> and delaware county d.a.'s office also, looking into the financial records here in colwyn borough hall, you may recall, not too long ago that brown locked herself in her

office here to pro tech, she says those documents for the da. we are live here in colwyn borough, justin finch cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank you. happening today the philadelphia woman accused of abandoning her disable son is expected to appear in court for an extradition hearing. nia parlor currently in the custody of maryland police, she had been receiving medical treatment there. police say that parlor left her quadriplegic son in the woods near cobbs creek then took off for maryland with her boyfriend. >> authorities in monmouth county new jersey are investigating a swatting incident captured live on line. now there is man who will only id himself as fist pump, he was live streaming video when heavily armed police officer arrived at his monmouth county home sunday. key port police say that they've received anonymous call claim ago man was holding hostages, than he had stabbed his girlfriend. after checking things out they determined that call was a hoax. >> another coyote attack in north jersey to tell you b

today, authorities say nia parlor left him thereto visit boyfriends in maryland where she was hospitalized. parlor was out of the hospital now. also, 21 year old paul de feo soccer player for the university of delaware, faces rape and other charges. the alleged victim told police that defeo assaulted her last weekend after they met at a restaurant. >> vice president joe biden and the the us energy secretary will tour peco headquarters in center city told promoting obama administration commitment to the country's energy infrastructure. >> right now 5:43, checking in with katie and our twerk weather watchers watch are they seeing? >> many are seeing mild air much like we are finding in some of our just typical observation sites. we take you out to the region wide zoom here, on the map finding a lot of mid up ear's, this is ed, 56 degrees, mark has 57 and we take to you one down here, 59 degrees, sent in to us from david dutch clementon, new jersey, 59. gee to one more, 58 was sent in to us from john, at this

point just clouds, but did he have quite a bit of rain as many of us did. he reported, just over two and a quarter inches of total rainfall, from this event. but, we are going to continue to be tracking some additional showers, through the rest of the morning some of them locally coming down, and steadier fashion not anywhere near as widespread as what we had yesterday. but, you can still see that back-over portions of new jersey you have some of the heavier rain, thankfully at this point thunderstorms that came along with this, have since fizzled away, it is just rain showers. off in the distance, storm circulation still back here over the great lakes actually going to send another frontal boundary secondary frontal boundary through the area. that's going to be the front that knocks our temperatures back. so we hold tough here into seasonable territory. yesterday, was nice, mild, mid 70s, should hit mid 60s today tomorrow, where we should be. then that next front comes along, especially second half of the day tomorrow bringing in the showers, it does not look like it is anywhere near the kind of system that those last two fronts brought us,

but will bring in wet weather. then we get knock back, so for four straight days basically struggling to even break out of the up ear's and isn't it nice it sounds chilly? take the victories where we can get them, right, gooiest. >> good morning, yes pretty crazy, month or two ago hoping for 58. like common. and now ya, cooling it back down. looks like the month of april finishes off on the cooler side. to 76, conshohocken curve eastbound volume pllng looking good this hour. visibilities, certainly improving here. the ben franklin bridge, still the road is wet. watch out for some road spray. at least looks like most of the showers have ended right around philadelphia, inbound traffic, starts to go pick up little bit. also closing down columbus boulevard at penn's landing to old city, or between the penn's landing and callowhill street due to flooding, so alternate there i95. so again recent showers this morning, have increased the flood threat again. also in brooklawn, brooklawn circle closed, this is prime spot for flooding. that's shutdown.

so i-295 is going to be your alternate of course. only takes foot of water to actually slow the collars. don't go through flooded roadways. king every prussia west valley forge road, car fire. that's a check on your road this morning. don't forget when on the road get updated information about traffic backups with the new cbs philly traffic app. download it now on itunes or google play. >> on the health watch this morning, the agriculture department confirms bird flu outbreak at an iowa farm. experts found the highly infectious and deadly n5n2 virus. that means up to 5.3 million hens must be destroyed. there was also a confirmed case of the bird flu at iowa turkey farm last week. the bird flu has affected several mid western states costing poultry producers nearly 7.8 million birds since march. there is no word yet how that cost will be passed onto consumers. well retail remembers pulling blue bell products off the shelves after two samples

of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tests positive for listeria. as don champion report, the recall covers 23 states. >> but bell recall is rare, and sweeping. the texas based company some unitarily recalled all of it products late monday, after two samples of it chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tested positive for the bacteria listeria. symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, die real rhea, it can be deadly. the move followed weeks of graduate recalls over the same concerns. >> c. o of the kirsh eude apology monday night while admitting the company did not know how the bacteria got into its facilities, it is determined to fix the problem. >> ice cream is a joy and a pleasure to eat tan should never be a cause for concern. >> some blue bell ice cream products were pulled from major retailers weeks ago after the centers for disease control linked the products to three deadly cases of listeria

infection in kansas. the illness was cracked to production line in bryn ham, texas, and later to second line in oklahoma. that facility still closed while officials investigate the source of the bacteria. the 108 year old company says it is now expanding its cleaning and sanitizing system, and will increase employee training. don champion, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, this is such a sweet story here. an ohio boy born without a functioning hand, is getting a new one, all thanks to group of college student. five year old jack carter was born with a right hand that did not fully form. his mom reached out, and found group of physics students, from sienna college in albany new york, using 3d printer those student modelled the hands after jack's favorite superhero iron man. >> we're so grateful to unable sienna for doing this, and then i mean, he is so excited. he talks about it every day,
