one person is dead, after fire tears through a plumstead township home we will tell you what we necessity about the victim as crews tried to find out what spark that blaze. good morning i'm ukee washington. i'm erika von tiehl. also two homes on the edge of a massive sink hole in florence township, new jersey. what is cause ago this erosion and what crews are doing to try to fix that problem. katie. erika, yet another coal front slate add cross the delaware valley today and it does appear like it will have a clash to work w thunderstorms fire up today and they could solve gust, i'll explain all of the impact that will lie within that, timing break it town and everything you need to know all coming up.

ukee, back to you. new information from overnight fire officials now confirming one person was killed when fire swept through this bucks county home. now the fire marshall is on the scene investigating what spark the flames in plumstead township. "eyewitness news" reporter j a an carabao is live at the the scene with the latest information, good morning. >> reporter: we spoke with fire officials not too long ago, again they do confirm that one person has died in, this big fire, a 58 year-old man. now, the scene has cleared but the the investigation continues. take a look at the the video we shot not too long ago chopper three was over the scene last night as this fire burned out of control. flames broke out here in the 6600 block of point pleasant pike in plumstead around 7:45 last night. it took dozens of fire fighters two hours to get this big fire under control jab one man, 58 years old didn't make it out fire officials say the the house was

cluttered which made fighting the fire morety. we are told he was only person at home at the time. fire officials say it is much too early to determine a cause, this investigation is ongoing. we will continue to write you updates just as soon as we have more. no id of the person who was killed. we are still following this story. much more later on in the show. live jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". new this morning philadelphia fire fighters quickly put out a house fire in olney. that fire started just after 11:30 at a house on the 4800 block of north 13th street. it was under control in about 15 minutes. the flames, damaged the second floor but no one was hurt. coming up on 4:33. lets check with katie. rain free? >> i wouldn't say that, erika. i would say eventually we have to deal with heavier downpours and any thunderstorms that fire up but for now things are quiet overall. we will have to track another cold front passage. the it feels like it is one

most of the region mid 40's is the story for you. the as the day progresses we will start off with sunshine but as early as lunchtime we have that cold front on the move move in from west to east but because we're going to have just the right timing, i can see these storms turning awfully gusty. make sure your trash can patio furniture is secure. we could end up with gust that is peak as high as 40 or 50 miles an hour and can't even rule out small sizedded hail. more on that later in the the show vittoria. good morning everyone. if you are traveling right now or plan to travel on the vine street expressway, we have a few things to talk b1 here's a look at vine street around the parkway not too far approaching broad and westbound direction. westbound we have all lanes ago, however tonight at 10:00 p.m. the the the westbound lanes will be closed between the schuylkill, between broad street and the schuylkill. just note that. currently on the eastbound side at the moment we have two left lanes being blocked as a result of the construction so they have been going back and

forth. so since this is eastbound today, tomorrow will be westbound. just note that if that is where you plan to travel or are traveling right now or plan to later this evening. as we continue we will take you elsewhere now to i-95, right around cottman it is very quiet no delays in either direction. southbound taillights, north bound headlights means you are moving well. if you are traveling on i-95 northbound the off ramp to cottman avenue is closed until 5:00 a.m. it is about the same time as construction that will clear out of the way on the the vine street expressway as well. since we're on the map and not too far from the northeast we have word of a very serious accident on the northbound side at ryan avenue in the inner drive. we will keep you updated on that accident in a writ will bit, ukee. and engineers will be out in a south jersey neighborhood today to figure out what is causing this land erosion leaving two homes, teetering on the edge. thinks happening on east front street from florence township. a couple said they watched the

landslide develop overtime but the the erosion really pick up steam over the past few months. >> the water was pouring through there and it was just a city stream of water down to the river. >> reporter: after the most recent round of storms municipal workers found an abandoned storm drain leaking accelerating the erosion problems. we will have much more in a live report in our next hour. a school bus with children on board, crashes in to the side of the house chopper three over lenape court in mount laurel yesterday near the springville school. twelve children were on that bus. police tell us none of them were hurt. the bus driver suffer minor injuries and was taken to the area hospital. authority say the the driver may have had an emergency of some sort while behind the wheel, erika. ukee, thank you. updating a story we first haddon three philadelphia police special victims unit is investigating how what is believed to be heroin wound up in the hand of the child. it was around lunchtime at william cramp elementary

school in west kensington when a first grader pulled 14 baggies from his backpack and showed to it classmates. two student notified police and the lunchtime aid. >> my son goes there and he is in first grade. something worse would have happened. >> the school sent a letter home to parents saying in part that this letter is a reminder to please check your child's school bag every dane a remove anything that does not belong at a school. mother accused of abandoning her disable son in the west philadelphia park should be returning home soon. she waved extradition at a hearing yesterday in montgomery county, maryland. police say she left the her quadriplegic son alone in cobbs creek park so she could visit her boyfriend who lives in maryland. once she's back in philadelphia parlor faces several charges including attempted murder. four people, including three children are in the hospital after being struck by a truck. chopper three over the scene in woodbury heights gloucester county last night.

those three kid were taken to cooper hospital. the fourth victim was taken to inspirea medical center. no word on their conditions. police also tell us that two officers are expected to be okay after an accident in philadelphia's ogontz neighborhood. chopper three right here over the scene tuesday night at north 21st and le veer streets. while on patrol those officers were hit by a chevrolet impala that ran a stop sign. the driver did stay on the scene. a city worker is out of the hospital this morning after getting shocked while picking up the trash. metal can came in contact with a electrified light pole on appletree street in center city. that worker suffered non-life threatening injuries. the since then peco has shut off power to that pole. a woman chases down a robbery suspect who ran off with her bag in west philadelphia and here's what it looked like. she jumped in the passenger window and then sped off with her clinging to the side. this all happened last friday

important way. so here's what you need to know, would i say window for thunderstorms is probably lunchtime to 5:00 p.m. everything from west to east. it depend what time it gets to you, western most suburbs it is early out toward shore points a little later but with the wind gusts embedded in those thunderstorms we are talking about 50 miles an hour gusts sending trash cans flying. make sure you secure loose objects before you go to school and work today. small hail, you cannot rule that out and localized downpours a concern with this. so starting things off on a relatively quiet note but win will pick up with time. gusts generally 35 miles an hour but within embedded thunderstorms they could be stronger. forty-one is our expect low and skies clear. temperatures take a tumble. we are about 10 degrees below average, thursday and friday, and sunnies back and it does appear that we will see a modest easing up here on the thermometer on the weekend still generally with tame weather overall back to you.
