so they can be expecting some of those more strong storms. it is crazy out there but not so craze any our area this morning. we've got a few clouds over philadelphia, if you go far enough to the north you don't have any clouds. and that's why you have frost advisory instead. so i guess we have to take what we get and we've got few clouds, and those clouds have kept us tiny bit warmer this morning. look how beautiful this is, though, the sunrise in atlantic city, few clouds there, too but boy there is sun is saying, you know what? you better get out of the sky because i am coming. and there you go. it is heading up, and we will be finding a real nice looking day. temperatures will be warmer than they were yesterday fortunately, but not as warm as they should be getting. we have 46 degrees right now that's the temperature from the palmyra cove nature park, love this picture across the delaware all winter we saw icebergs, and there we go into the sit of philadelphia. so, nice looking start to the day, and in all locations really not that much going on, other than few temperatures in the 30's to the north 40's
6:16 am
through philadelphia, 48 in philadelphia, 43 millville and atlantic city. storm scan3 shows the area of the clouds, just boom, there you go, from maybe from reading and trenton, point south, looking at skies that have some clouds, to the north, no clouds, up in that area. temperatures this afternoon getting into the 60s yesterday we stopped upper 50's, today we will be probably into the middle 60s for most everybody. tomorrow, will be in the 60s once again and then i think we start to see little warm up around here. it will be welcome. high pressure starts to build in by the time we get to tuesday. our favorite graphic wouldn't you agree, this is the computer model that goes out in time, and says clouds, rain i'll let you know when it will happen. at least based on the current thinking, as they sample the atmosphere. so today this thing looks pretty right on target to start. by the time we hit later on this afternoon couple of clouds will be out there. i think we can expected to with sun and clouds. and then, by the time we get to monday afternoon, maybe lunch outside but there are
6:17 am
some computer models that say couple of showers on monday afternoon, and evening so there is one doesn't. maybe we can keep them away. and then by tuesday, we are looking at conditions that aren't bad at all. and, in fact, our temperatures could be very close to that 70 degrees mark on tuesday. if you fine yourselves rubbing your eyes, sneezing, that sort of thing pollen, today it is pretty hi, tomorrow not as hi, then tuesday back fairly hi, with oklahoma, birch and maple. you can probably see all of the little pods and things going on there. now, maybe you're going to the phillies game? by the time you get there 1:35 against atlanta 60 degrees, partly sunny winds out of the north about 10 miles an hour, but our ultimate high temperature today will be milder than. that will we should be able to get to 64 degrees. at the shore 58, in the poconos, 58, partly sunny every single location. winds around here about five to 10 miles an hour. then tonight we drop down into the 40's again our sun setting at 7:50. i know, you have noticed how
6:18 am
late it is getting. which is nice. gives you some daylight at the end of the day. and then, as we go through the next couple every days, seven day forecast, little bit cooler tomorrow, 62, shower chance, but close to 70 on tuesday, and wednesday thursday at 66 degrees, not so bad, but look at next saturday. 72 degrees, and i think sunday at this point may be just as good. nicole? >> all right carol thank you. well the penn relays are in full sprint this weekend athletes from all around the world participate in this annual event. >> this year one man in particular really caught our attention. george scott is 94 years old but shows no signs of slowing down. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson was there as scott competed in the 100-meter dash. >> don't get me wrong, this is one excited crowd. these are the diehard fans for some of the worlds' fastest runners. but there is one race in particular where the full crowd absolutely loses its minds. at 3:40 p.m. sharp saturday
6:19 am
thousands packed franklin field at the oldest event of it kinds in the country to witness 14 sprinters running 100 meters, with more than a millennium of memories gained. >> that's the thing. >> the masters, 75 plus 100-meter dash, a generation of stories between them. this year, the oldest runner, 98 year old champ goldie, went up against the competition's first female, eight a years olds betty but we've been following the training and story after guy from south philly. for some here an old friends former cbs technician, 94 year old george scott who only started running at the tender age of 89. we caught him moments before the gun. >> i'm just going to try to do the best i can that's all. >> george kept his word. >> like his piers, he ran hard harder than some could half his age. >> so george didn't win the race, but he says in the grand scheme of things, that's far from the point. >> how do you feel knowing you ran in the penn relays? >> i feel good, great.

6:30 am
this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". today is sunday, april 26th, good morning to you, thanks so much for joining us. i'm nicole brewer. let's see, it is 6:30, we send it over to carol for more on the forecast. sounds like bit of a warm up which will be nice. >> yes, bit after one. not huge one but it is enough. we get out off the's where we were yesterday 58 degrees for the high temperature, so i think you'll find the about 64 degrees we're getting today, a little more comfortable for this time of the year t locks fairly nice in most locations, but some locations have clouds. i would call your immediate attention to the clouds over the ben franklin bridge, philadelphia, and new jersey, but not all of new jersey. and not all of pennsylvania either. notice the clear skies if we go far enough to the north carbon county, jack frost big boulder, clear skies there one of the reasons that a frost advisory is in effect to the north. and kutztown, they have the most dramatic looking sunrises
6:31 am
i've ever seen. so look at this, 33 degrees, just really looks beautiful. no wind out there. so that's why the frost can also be an issue in a number of locations this morning. our temperatures at this point are in the 40's, if you're in line from trenton to philadelphia to wilmington. go to the north of that, and that's where you are finding these temperatures in the 30's, this morning and the frost advisory is out there. storm scan3 showing the clouds again another view, i think the picture view may be little more entertaining, but also very informative one. you can see the clouds, they are thin around the trenton area, but they start to get little thicker through philadelphia, toms river and points south. the areas of the frost advisory, you can see shade the in the blue, yesterday everybody had either a freeze warning or frost advisory. it is just much smaller area to the north where the skies are clear this morning, that runs until about 8:00. again, it is for the growing season. we have temperatures, that are getting into the 60s today 64 degrees, does not look like bad day at all. we start with a few clouds,
6:32 am
should be thinning those out adding few other later on, still not bad day. not bad seven day forecast, ill show that you coming up. nick snow. >> carol, thank you. >> meanwhile, grief in camden, after teenager was killed in a shooting early saturday morning. police found 18 year old jameer suffering from gunshot wound 1200 block of mechanic street in camden, he was returned to cooper university hospital where he died. so far police have not made any arrests. >> police have now arrested three juveniles in a vicious beating after man at an olney gas station. the attack happened on april 7th on the corner of fifth street and somerville avenue. police say the suspects jumped out of mini-van then beat that victim with a hammer and a piece of wood. police had previously arrested three other women in this attack. serena al see a and keisha duggan all six suspect face attempted murder charges. >> well, the scene of a terrible tragedy is now dedicated as a place of

i had chance to sit down with the cleve washington correspondent and moderator of "face the nation" we spoke about everything from his storied career, to writing songs for carrie underwood? here is a look at our sit down interview where he opened up about his decision to retire with the first of many candid answers. take a listen. >> i'll be very honest with you. being in washington, for so many years i've seen so many members of congress, members of the senate that just stayed too long. and i didn't want to be one of those people that somebody had to grab me by the hands and say, come on, old fellow, we'll help you off the stage. and i casino of felt like cbs has done really well, this these days, "face the nation" is doing really well. and i feel great. so i just wanted to quit while i felt like i could still do the job. >> john dickerson will be your replacement. he'll be acting as host coming up here, perhaps, this summer. is there anything you want to do between now and then?
6:39 am
anything you want to accomplish? >> i opportunity say number one -- i want to stay number one, and i want to keep putting on good broadcasts. >> you have acted as moderator i believe 24 years, you have been with cbs for 46. i know difficult time, but what have been your career highlights and have there been any low lights. >> i turned a cup of coffee over in maria shriver's lap on the morning news. >> that's never good. >> that was possibly ranked among the lowest lights. you know, i have to say the four stories in my career that i remember the most, the first of course was being in dallas when president kennedy was assassinated. that was back when i was still a newspaper reporter, fort worth star telegram. then viet nam i was a correspondent there, and then watergate, and then most recently 9/11. those were the stories that i
6:40 am
still think about and sometimes hardly a day goes by that i don't still think about 9/11. >> you what dow this is the biggest issues are facing our country right now? >> the overriding issue of our time is management of our relationship with china. united states is super power we have a rising power. it many times in the history of the world when you had a situation like that, the result was war. we have to be careful and carefully manage that relationship. terrorism the turmoil in the middle east, are the more immediate problems. and also, here at home, the most and probably the most serious problem we have right now is finding a way to get the government working again getting washington working again. >> what kind of person do you think needs to be president to make that happen? it progress things on that
6:41 am
end? >> you never know. you never know. but i am not one of these people who believes in the tides every history. dow believe individuals make a difference. >> so 50 years countless awards, i believe you recall living legend by the library of congress. what is next for you? >> i don't know. you know, i've always kinds of known what i have wanted to do, in kind of an abstract casino of way. but i've never tried to plan too much and too specifically in the short-term. because a lot of times doors open that you don't even know the door is there. so i'll never work any place but cbs. i've been there too long. i just would not be comfortable any place else. i don't know exactly what i'm going to do, but something always comes up. i always finds a way to fill the day. so i'm sure it will happen again. >> if all else fails, i know you dabble in song writing. >> absolutely. >> so maybe an albumn is in the works? >> maybe a hit song. i have some songs just perfect
6:42 am
for carrie underwood right now, if i could just get her to listen. >> i love, that i love. that will we wish you the best in retirement. we thank you so much for sitting down with us, always making time for us here in philadelphia. >> we'll talk to you sunday. >> just sweet man just as nice as he seems there and we will talk to bob live for preview of today's "face the nation", that's coming up in our 8:30 half hour. right now 6:42, last night in washington journalist, politicians, celebrities came together for the 89th abdul while house correspondance dinner. president obama let the jokes fly. >> now for the midterm elections my advisors ask me, mr. president, do you have a bucket list? and i said, well, i have that rhymes with bucket list. it is no wonder the people keep pointing out how the presidency has aged me. i look so old john boehner's already invited netanyahu to speak at my funeral.
6:43 am
>> the event is also affectionately known as the nerd prom, has become one of washington's biggest events. >> so always nice to see them poking fun at each other and at themselves when appropriate. >> you know, nothing like humor. >> exactly. >> we know that better than anybody, don't we, carol? >> we love laughing. and great interview with bob schieffer by the way nicole. fascinating. we are looking at gray skies over philadelphia right now. we will start to see these clouds thin out little bit later on, but right now, it is not the brightest start to the day. it may just be enough to make you say you know what? we don't have to race outside. it is not that beautiful out. we'll just stay in. >> jack frost, big boulder keeping an eye on melt cam. i think i will ' rename that. and we're now seeing melting and more melting and more meltingment that's going to continue. but with these temperatures, that yesterday were below freezing, and they eventually got above freezing, that can slow the rate of melting as you probably have already figured out. we are looking right now,
6:44 am
this is out in margate, things are quiet nobody is on the beach right now the ocean pretty quiet. but there will be storm system or two out in the ocean as we go through the next couple of days. that will may be kicking a cloud or two back, and it may even kick a shower or two back so we'll push on, and find out exactly when we may be finding any casino of sprinkles, rain showers and sunshine around here. temperature of 48 degrees right now out at the airport in philadelphia, it is 43 in trenton, 44 in wilmington, all of these temperatures in the 30's more likely to be enjoying clear skies may not be enjoying the temperatures this cold as they are this morning, thoughment storm scan3, clouds are out there especially to the south because there is a system of low pressure system that will be working its way off the coast. it is just bringing some clouds to us but as it pulls farther away. these clouds should diminish a little bit later on this afternoon, but i think we can probably generally expect variable clouds in the sky most of the day today. now, as we go on, in time, we are look at temperatures today, that will be getting into this afternoon into the
6:45 am
