ed the national guard to keep the peace. >> the city erupt in the riot yesterday just hours after the funeral for freddie gray, the man who died while in police custody. baltimore's mayor imposed ten p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew beginning tonight. city officials say they are using every possible resource to end the violence including asking the philadelphia police department for help. we're wait to go hear if the city will send any officers there, meanwhile, cbs news core upon dent edwin lauren? baltimore right now there is morning, with the very latest developments. good morning. >> good morning, maryland asked all of the state around it for help, reinforcement some arrived here, these are maryland state troopers guarding this intersection here this is where rioters burned and loot add cvs pharmacy. see scenes like this all over the city. thousand it is of armed national guard members have taken position on the grounds in baltimore where tensions continue to escalate over the death of freddie gray.

hours after the 25 year old was laid to rest monday, the city descended into chaos. authorities say protesters, many of them teenagers pelted officers with objects, including rocks, and sticks. police responded with pepper spray. demonstrators looted stores, damaged cars, and set fires. the governor of maryland issued state of emergency monday night. >> we had opposite sends of the city pulling us at the same time. so after resources here would allow us to get on top at multiple location. >> close to 30 arrests made, more than dozen officers injured as nile femme emergency of gray's family emerge today comdemn the violence. >> i want you all to get justice for my son but don't do it like this here. >> city-wide week long curfew which goes into effect tonight. >> what we're seeing isn't anger, it is after community the same they kay about they are destroying. >> died a week ago after severe spinal injury after being taken into police custody. police sworn in attorney

general lore eight lynch says the justice department will send two officials to baltimore as it continues its own investigation into gray's death. >> 5,000 officers from around the state and 5,000 national guards men are here to try and keep the peace today to make sure everything stays safe. reporting live in baltimore back to you. >> you mention over dozen officers injured. do you know how they are doing? any of them? >> there were 15 officers injured mainly cynder blocks thrown by teenagers as leaving high school. that sparked all of this rioting. six of the officers still in the hospital, some possibly have broken bones. >> edward, we will get back to you, thank you. >> edward lauren? baltimore, thank you. stay with "eyewitness news" as we continue to monitor the situation in baltimore. you can of course get the latest information at cbsphilly.com. >> right now coming up on 5:03, we want our forecast and even nicer day today right katy? >> still little breezy for us out, there but we expect more sunshine to last you all day.

we started off with some throughout the mid-morning then the clouds rebuilt as we anticipated they o we were kind of stuck then for the rest of the day. at least for now storm scan3 continues to empty out. hint of moisture across kent county, but as we zoom it out what you will notice, when we throw the satelite coverage on top, especially, is the clouds thinning away, fizzling with time, and as that happens, of course, that means we end one beautiful sunrise and also some real nice weather later today. the other sort of just xfactor i like to call it that you want to keep in mind is the breeze still be out there. it continues to blow modestly, not talking about gusty windy day. but a breeze out of the northwest, at ten to 15 miles per hour, she will be noticeable to you. 52 degrees currently at the airport, and holding tough at 43 this hour in month pocono where it feels little more like the 30's when you factor in that breeze, but as we take you hour by hour here, looking at different segment of the day, planning the day ahead overall it is nice afternoon here right upper 60s very

accident hit set off explosion, and also, a sewage, remember seeing this fire yesterday morning. that neighborhood, still feeling the effect, nearly 24 hours after that crash. want to go right out to "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us live from the scene. good morning. >> reporter: err cape, good morning. you can see behind people that south park avenue remains closed this morning here in lower providence township. and officials on scene actually tell me to expect this stretch of road to remain closed through the morning rush possibly even through the evening rush. they had hoped to get this very busy road reopened before everyone got up and out to work but looks like that won't happen. that will powdered make ill still on the grounds and very slippery. so i'm told detergent needs to be brought in to wash it away. i'm also told the two vehicles involved have been towed away at this point. that happened around 1:00 this morning. soap, some progress social security made here. but not enough to reopen the road. this has been a long closure. the deadly accident happened around 6:00 monday morning

here on south park avenue, near crawford road lower providence. police say tanker truck caring waste and tractor-trailer caring powdered make up collided. the driver of the tanker was killed. now, south park between eagleville road and ridge avenue remains closed, police are investigating the cause of the deadly crash and cleaning up the scene. a hazmat team was called in but crews have determined that there is no environmental damage here, the holdup again at this point is that slippery poured err left behind. >> this is very complex scene as i am sure you can quite imagine. we're dealing with a lot of variables, with respect to the scene, we have an extensive clean up ahead of us. we think that there is some damage to the roadway due to the fire on the roadway we're anticipating that the roadway will be closed for protracted period of time. >> again, the cause of this crash is under investigation. this road is still closed.

so you will want to plan for alternate route. they say through morning rush, and possibly the evening rush as well. we will stay on top of t but for now live in lower providence township, jan carabeo, cbs 3, "eyewitness news". jan, thank you. death toll in the nepal earthquake has reached 4400, at least, four americans are among the dead. in kathmandu they are digging through mountains of rubble trying to save anyone who might still be alive. remote villages, however, are cut off from help and the fear is that there may be many more dead there. montgomery county family has loved ones in nepal. we will tell you more about their connection coming up at 530:67:89. >> happening today, supreme court is ready to hearingments on whether same sex marriage should be legal nationwide. the cases before the court are from kentucky, michigan, ohio, and tennessee. federal appeals court in cincinnati has upheld same sex marriage bans in all four state. in 2013, the supreme court struck down part of a federal anti-gay marriage law.

>> a state of emergency is in place in baltimore. thousands of national guard troops have been deployed to help calm tensions escalated shortly after gray's funeral yesterday. authorities say that several baltimore police officers were injured after they were hit with rocks, sticks, and bottles. they are expected to be okay. schools in the city remain closed today. a week long city-wide curfew goes into effect at 10:00 tonight. ukee? >> stunning reversal the pennsylvania supreme court upheld the child endangerment conviction of rome and catholic monsignor william lynn. lynn served half of three to six year prison term when superior court tossed his conviction in 2013. he's been on house arrest ever since.

lynn has 14 days to to appeal monday's ruling. the new jersey boater accused of faking his on death is facing more charges this morning, andrew biddle was indicted on more than dozen count of theft for some sales through his boat business in atlantic county. he disappeared in july after his boat hit a buoy. he suddenly showed back up in february, but has not said where he was for seven months. >> it is 5:13, let's yet our traffic and weather together. here's kate. >> i good morning, hey, everyone start zero g things off on little bit of cloudy note. clouds quickly starting to fizzle. as they do so we ends one real noise day overall here, on out to storm scan3 storm system continues to spin away and some really well defined cloud structure there with the counter clockwise rotation. that's what's retreating, so we end up with the clouds thinning out nicely for some sunshine yes, you can even see, little hint of some moisture rolled through in the form of very light showers really this morning, but notice how the clouds also

thin away with time. nice wide zoom. still showing quite a bit of moisture pent up down across the northern gulf. we are still expecting a little bit of severe weather across the deep south this morning, at least through the rest of the day today. thankfully, none of this is going to be messing with us at all. just sort of moves eastbound not going to ride up the coa at all. so we don't have to worry about it, certainly worth a mention. quite a bit, i mean, days worth now of severe weather unfolding across that part. us. meanwhile we take a look at the daily uv index, the time we are flirt wag high range of the uv index it, high enough, that sun block is required, if you are going to take advantage of the nice wet their we do have, in store today, and specially tomorrow. so mostly sunny breezy, granted, notice that, and it does elevate the fire risk a little bit for you here today. but 69 degrees, we can take that really decent day overall. later tonight we drop down to 50 degrees under clearing sky. not quite as chilly, since we lose the worse of the breeze. and looking forward in the forecast, tomorrow is the day to really just make the most of enjoy it while you have got t by thursday, friday,

moving. no problems on 76 even new jersey looking pretty good. septa we are detouring few bus routes, the r and 61 routes, during the ridge avenue paving project. >> this goes until 6:00 this morning. and this paving project will continue for some time. thirty minute service on the river line again for new jersey, river line this morning, ongoing signal problems continue. that's look at your ride this morning, we send it to you. >> to some breaking news right now west philadelphia. fire damages a bar in cobbs creek. firefighters got the call to the 63rd street lounge near catharine street. they got those flames under control, in less than half hour. we're toll there are no injuries. the cause of that fire is under investigation. >> a rash of robberies in some local neighborhoods. we'll let you know who is being targeted and one of the victims has a warning so you don't become the next target. >> also pennsylvania attorney general, accused of under oath. now, newly-released documents show her legal problems are getting worse. details on that coming up.

we now about the troubles facing pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane. grand jury report now made pick for the first time alleges kane older erred release of secret information all to embarrass a rival and then try to cover it up. in addition, three judge panel ordered separate inquiry into whether kane violated a court order by firing her chief deputy james barge err. he testified in the grand jury investigation and the court want to know if his firing was in retaliation. >> this is very serious allegation that's been late at the feet of the attorney general. >> it doesn't look re talia torrey at all. any proceeding, that steps were taken to reorganize the offers to make it more effective. >> the grand jury has recommended perjury and obstruction charges against kane. decision on whether she is charged will be made by montgomery county district attorney lisa fuhrman. >> bail is set at $50,000 for

philadelphia mother charged with leaving her four children in a lock basement. police say 29 year old sharnay lee confessed to ordering her children into the basement as a form of punishment. but claims she did not know the door was locked. the children were rescued sunday from their home on east atlantic street in kensington. police say lee's children ages nine ten 12, 13 spent more than 12 hours without access to food, water or a bathroom. a close call for children getting on a school bus in washington state and all of this is caught on camera, too. video from the bethel school district shows a bus approaching the stop last friday morning. now, as lisa's two daughters five and nine, and neighbor boy approached the bus rather, a suv speeds between them and the bus right there nearly grazing one of those students' toast. >> it could have been way worse, it just makes you sad at first, then makes you really angry that somebody would do that.

>> 5:23, we want our forecast, not a shabby day katy? >> not at all. the only thing you will notice out there weather-related besides the beautiful sunshine, and seasonable day the fact the breeze is still noticeable. you can actually see the clouds moving from north to south here. we even had couple of quick little showers, very light ones, rolled through delaware basically mere in the last few hours, those two starting to fizzle with time. as the clouds do the same, we end up with what i think will end up being pretty nice
