north 18th street by temple university after a home collapsed. chopper three over that scene around 11:00 this morning. we are told the house was under construction at the time of that collapse. all workers who were in the house has been accounted for now, and there are no reports of any injuries. one day after a deadly truck collision, spilled cosmetic powder all over a busy montgomery county roadway crews were able to get it cleaned up a few moments ago. now penndot is stepping into begin street repairs. 70's, 75 in philadelphia, allentown 73. reading 72. tomorrow a beautiful day less wind and plenty of sunshine. then all eyes are on a developing nor'easter, this moisture in the gulf of mexico doesn't look like much but it will be developing and moving up the eastern seaboard. tomorrow beautiful with temperatures in the 70's, high pressure over us but that high gives way to that low creeping up the coast with some clouds, showers and cooler weather for thursday with highs in the 60's and even into friday with breezy cool conditions, temperatures will be in the 50's, we are keeping an eye on the exact track of this low our models not coming into complete agreement to see how close this will be and how long this influence lingers. future weather shows a clear sky right into thursday, but then, during the the afternoon, that influence, on shore, looking at the clouds, some spotty showers cooler conditions, and that easterly flow will keep it dreary around here for the the late week period.

chopper three showing the aftermath of the deadly blaze on the 1100 block of smithville road. fire fighters responded to that fire around 10:30 p.m. and were able to contain the blaze in less than an hour. a 38 year-old man is in custody after he barricaded himself and two hostages inside a west philadelphia home. police responded to the home on the 4700 block of melon street around 6:00 this morning, neighbors tell "eyewitness news" is robert thompson and hostages were his mother and grandmother. man suffers from mental illness. no one was injured. there is no word on any charges. well, prime minister of nepal says as many a as 10,000 people may have died in saturday's earthquake. so far 5,000 are confirmed dead, and the frantic digging continues across the country tonight where time is running out to find survivors. we are hearing tonight from an american hiker who was thrown there helicopter from the disaster site.

city of philadelphia renegotiates its cable franchise association with comcast. there was a protest outside south philadelphia high school where public forum is underway right now. fifteen year agreement that the city has with comcast business to expire and authorized comcast to use public rights of way to operate cable system and deliver cable service. many at a forum complained about customer service and technical support. >> comcast has horrible technical support and customer service. i think the only way to repair this issue is to have competition in cable let other companies who want to come in use the infrastructure at cost good the marries hoping to expand low income internet access and consumer protections as part of that agreement. it is a very popular chain that is displaying sale prices that don't pay off at the the register and it is not the first time. three on your side consumer reporter jim donovan goes

there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.

watchers. you can see that the wind are still strong. these are generally sustained wind reports from our weather watchers weather stations really and ocean city, reporting 18-mile an hour wind. lou at 16 miles an hour and buena vista township margot reporting 15 miles an hour at the moment. and things are clear. lets take another look at being on storm scan three. we have quad sweep going. we don't need it. we are over working this radar so to speak. there is nothing going on outside. that is good news. getting showers across coastal new england today rest of the region has been okay, a few big puffy included that are not showing up on too well on radar. what you want to watch is area of disturb weather in the gulf of mexico and keep south. we will start to have move off shore as we get in the later part of the week and closest pass to our area on friday. we will talk about what that means in a moment. first in the near term, what it feels like outside, 62 at the airport.

seventy-one in reading. sixty-nine in allentown. cooler 60 the atlantic city airport thanks to the marine influence. 64 degrees in wildwood. wind are still strong. we have sustain wind at 60 miles an hour at the airport. allentown 21 miles an hour and still gusts at 31. it makes it feel cooler then thermometer indicates. taking away future weather that is what we are watching as storm moves off shore this is nor'easter by definition but don't let that scare you. this mainly stays off shore. nor'easter characterized by a prolong period of northeast wind and this system is moving up the coast it will bring northeast wind. showers erupt thursday afternoon around 5:00. much of thursday is dry and look at even friday morning most of the rain stays south of this, we will get the wind cloud and the cool eras wind come in around, the north edge of that storm system. so clear calm, seasonal 48 degrees. for your wednesday we are at 74 with sunshine. running broad street it is a

the flames from that engine fire were being extinguish, you can see white foam there and the 75 passengers on board, welshing they were evacuated from the plane and standing on the runway as officials brought that situation there under control. passengers were then put on a shuttle bus. here's what we have learn that plane was in route as we mentioned to newark. well, it was just over philadelphia when one of the captain called back, that they were reporting smoke on the plane and believed that they had an engine fire. that is when the plane made an emergency landing and dozens of other planes were held, circling in the air while the situation on the runway was put in control. >> they said there was a plane on the runway so we were detained and circling, in south philadelphia, about six times. >> i have travel enough that something is wrong. >> right, right. >> that
