ight in the hit and run that critically injured a temple university student. police have found the car that struck her. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us now live at temple university hospital where that student is fighting for perfect life and she was just going to graduate later this week, jan good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. that is right. more information about the the striking vehicle in just a minute but we have a lot of background information about this young woman from her father. we spoke to him earlier this morning. he has been here with his daughter all night long obviously shaken up. he tells us she's in very bad shape this morning but even though he didn't wanting to on camera he is pleading for public's help. any information is greatly appreciated so police can track down the driver responsible. take a look, this is rachel hall a 22-year old criminal just advertise major here at temple university. her father tells me she was riding her bike from dinner to study for finals when she was hit. she's goalie for temple's

a montgomery county dad takes his kid out of class for three days, for what he calls an important family trip. >> his children's school takes exception to his decision calling the missed days unexcused. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us with the father's response and how it became talk of the social media. >> this has blown up, pretty much, national news at this point. he calls it the a once in a lifetime opportunity they call it an unexcused absence. now a father's letter to rydel elementary has gone viral. after taking his kid to boston to see him run in the marathon michael rossi got a letter from their principal calling the three missed days unexcused absences. he says they threatened to refer him to the truancy officer should it happen again. that is when rossi put his feelings in writing sent it to the principal and shared it on his facebook page. in that letter he insist that

news" reporter jan carabao joins us from temple university hospital where the victim is fighting for perfect life jan good morning. >> reporter: ukee and erika good morning. she's fighting for her life and police again as you have mentioned have located the striking vehicle in this case. they are still looking for a person of interest so at this point no suspect just yet in custody. her family, here at temple university hospital has been by her side all morning long. we have been able to speak with the young woman's father earlier this morning off camera. she's a star student athlete at temple university, goalie number 16. all the while making the dean's list every mess ter but now rachel hall's father tells "eyewitness news" that the 22-year old is fighting for her life after being struck by this car during a hit and run in north philadelphia. >> medics picked up her body and transported her to temple hospital where she's in extremely critical condition fighting for her life, unknown whether or in the this 22-year old female will survive these
