we are getting set to go, this years broad street run is now anxious runners line up to take off. the fight of the century end in a unanimous decision for fly mayweather junior, i'm terry okita with react ahead. all right. today is sunday may third good morning, thanks so much for joining us, i'm nicole brewer. it is 7:00 o'clock. we will send it over to carol and talk about warmer weather we have been waiting for all year carol. >> i think tomorrow we may be close today but we could be as warm as we have been anytime of the year today or definitely tomorrow. 81 degrees back in the middle of of april. that was the warmest day this year. we should be warmer than that tomorroweally close. it is beautiful out there

right now. ben franklin bridge area just one or to second cloud but just a terrific looking start. at the the shore maybe a few more clouds at the this point but we do expect that they will be receiving us and fining a sunny day too. 49 degrees is the temperature as we look at city of philadelphia across delaware river, beautiful vista from the palmyra grove nature park. wind are very light. we have got so many people in philadelphia, and they don't have have their cars. they are running. they are on foot. it is the broad street run. 63 degrees starting off at 8:30 this morning. the it is really for slower ones and boy hats off to anybody who can even do this and run that distance but it ties up broad street a long time today just a little net trying to get east, it is hard to cross broad street for hours today. you are looking at a temperature of 51 new but we don't stop there in philadelphia a or those 40's in the other locations. with the sunshine we're getting our high temperatures

this have afternoon will be climbing all the way to 80 degrees. expect to find a steady warm up as we go with sunshine and light wind all day. we will time out the the seven day forecast in the next bit of precipitation we might see coming up nicole. >> carol, thank you. new this morning a man is stabbed to death inside of his west philadelphia home. police tell thaws 35 year-old man was stabbed in the chest and abdomen. this all happened in the 5800 block of christian street around 12:30. there is in word on suspect at this time. also new two people are rushed to the hospital after a a fire ripped through their camden home. fire broke out in the row home of the 700 block of florence street before midnight. there is no details on the condition of the victims the causes under investigation. well some 40,000 runners are lacing up their sneakers getting ready for blue cross broad street run today. 10-mile course starts at broad and somerville and end at the navy yard. our cherry greg from kyw news

radio 1060 is live getting busy out there right. >> reporter: that is right, how are you doing, nicole. it is electric out here. you can see runners are already starting to gather. 40,000 people are expected to pound the pavement from here down to the navy yard today as part of the 36th annual broad street run. but you know, it is in the just about runners but it is for a great cause. the american cancer society. i'm here with dawn roberts. she's one of the running coaches for the team. you have a lot of runners and raising a lot of money, tell me about it. >> i'm proud to share at american cancer society we have been partnering with the blue cross broad street run for over 30 years. we are the charity partner for the. >> reporter: wow. you folks have a lot of people. you guys are like, first of all, you are wonder woman. look at those socks, right. you guys helped the american cancer society bring in how much money.

are leaning toward the fact that she was shot to death. police believe that victim knew her a attacker. two people are arrested while rallying in the name of freddie gray, lets take a look. >> what do we want? >> justice. >> reporter: police are enforcing a 10:00 o'clock curfew for a fourth night in the row. yesterday protesters marched from the gillmore homes housing project where gray was arrested to city hall. 259 year-old died from a spinal injury in police custody. six police officers were arrested on friday and charged in connection with his death bringing joy to the community after days of unrest. >> freddie gray becomes symbolic of all of the black men in this country who have been treated unfairly by our police and we know that police reform is on the way. >> all six charged officers have posted bail. they include sewell new jersey native edward nero, who was a washington township fire fighter.

a nine year-old girl is recovering in the hospital after being shot with the bee-bee gun this happened saturday afternoon on the 900 block of bellevue avenue in humeville bucks county. that girl was accidentally shot the in the chest by a 21 year-old family member. she was later air lifted to children's hospital of philadelphia and that girls condition has not been released. police located a penske truck stole men south philadelphia last week. it was recovered empty on the 1100 block of rising sun avenue saturday morning. search still continues for u-haul truck stole men hunting park. police say this man was one of three suspects who stole it. while there are no credible home land security threats relating to the the trucks, authorities wanted to find them as up as possible. well, more than a week after the deadly earthquake in nepal, and the the death toll continues to climb. now comes word of a new concern as aid workers rush to help survivors. we will have the latest on that. also celebrations continue overnight in london as the royal family, welcomes a

have on and off delays here as folks exit for the the run. also i should mention that there are a bunch of september bus detours around the run visit septa.org for more information. we will move traffic cam here and this is schuylkill at 30th street. in delays or problems for the the schuylkill doing fine through philadelphia and its suburbs. on to the ben franklin bridge, in delays on ben franklin. westbound we have construction. this is heading into philadelphia, the entire length of the bridge, right lane is closed in the affecting traffic. i should mention since we're talking about bridges, burlington bristol bridge will have test openings this morning. they are irregular and frequent and up until 9:00 this morning. planning on taking that bridge, don't until after 9:00. because they are having so many test openings on it. further up no delays on the ben franklin bridge no delays on 676 or admiral wilson boulevard no problems on the the 42 freeway ac expressway and garden state parkway are all okay as well. the that is latest from the

>> reporter: yes, count down is on, the race will start in less than 30 minutes. police are already lined up along the route. the thousands of runners have already started to gather. they will begin in waves at about 8:00 a.m. let me tell you people run for a variety of reasons. they run for bragging rights, for health and they also run for a cause and other people. i'm here with kevin. he is the godfather of shane montgomery. if you will recall, shane went missing right before thanksgiving. unfortunately it was a tragic end. why are you here today. >> i'm here today i run with the philadelphia police department team, sergeant matt maguire is the director. i have been running with them over 23 years but today is a special day obviously with my god son in my heart and in my soul. >> reporter: let me just show you, he has on this wonderful button. shane is in your thoughts and prayers.

turnpike. this is raising concerns about safety overall. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson has details from bensalem. >> reporter: for hours the only traffic left on the this busy stretch of the pennsylvania turnpike didn't even amount to one car. officials say it happened shortly before about 5:30 saturday morning police say this car traveling east bound near bensalem interchange entered construction zone, struck a construction vehicle injuring four construction workers. the the driver of that car was killed. turnpike officials tell cbs-3 "eyewitness news" that the cause has yet to be determined but they say speed and distraction are likely to blame. >> we need motorist to be a aware that there are lives out there, only inches from these people and they need to be slow down and be cautious for the safety of all of our folks. >> reporter: the saturday's accident is second work zone wreck this week on the turnpike in the span of five taste, five workers have been

happened in 2014. more than 150 catches in work zones. that is very latest, steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". fire fighters rescued a woman from st. peters rocks in warwick town hip bucks county. rescue teams used ladders and other equipment to get to that victim. eyewitnesses say she was jumping on the rocks when she fell. she was placed in the ambulance and then taken to the hospital. we are told it was a difficult rescue now. >> they have been down there too many times, is there no one good way to go. the why us to make sure they can get across without dropping her and so everybody got out safely. >> reporter: we are working to get more information object that woman's condition. in wilmington the investigation continues in the sus fish us fire at a vacant building. we first told but this yesterday morning on "eyewitness news". fire crews found huge flames at the the vacant bankcroft mills complex on the 100 block of bankcroft mills sat the day. historic mill was compromised

in that fire. in injuries were reported. new jersey state police say six people were hurt in this crash late friday night involving a military convoy from fort dix. they say that a car clipped the back of the military hum see on the turnpike in hamilton township mercer county. the the driver, a 35 year-old solder from new york was thrown from the car and suffered serious spinal injuries. three other passengers were injured. two victims in the the car suffered minor injuries. the crash remains under investigation. well, some new video is released from a dramatic police chase in colorado. watch as the the suspects takes off from the police officer still clinging to his car. >> step out of the car. step out of the car. this happened more than aear ago. parker police officer glenna was just arresting just continue wayne lamb on
