event outside of dallas t. roommates from phoenix were shot and killed by an off duty police officer. one of the men, elton simpson, was the subject of a previous terror investigation. simpson and the other attacker were both wearing body arm our. >> reporter: police collected what appears to be a rifle, near the car ursd by two shooting suspects in garland, texas. the gunfighting occurred near the best drawing for the best picture of the prophet mohammed. police say the gunman identified na dir sufi were killed by police. local police spent months for sunday night's controversial show. the event was organized by pamela geller. president of the american freedom defence initiative.

the husband of cheryl sandberg died at a family vacation. >> reporter: david goldberg died exercising in a gym in southwest mexico. local authorities say he died of head trauma. goldberg was an entrepreneur and mentor to many in silicon valley. he sold his first start-up to yahoo in 2001. goldberg married cheryl sandberg if 2004. a power couple behind the lean-in philosophy encouraging women to go after their professional goals a. partnership se says was pivotal to her own success as she told a class of barnard seniors. >> the most important career decision you will make is whether or not you have a life partner and who that partner is. >> reporter: in 2013 the couple explained to norah o'donnell how sandberg almost accepted facebook's first offer. >> dave what did you think when she said i will go ahead and

chinese factories. it fell more than 1% t. shanghai composite lost 3%. tokyo's nikkei was closed. here on wall street stocks posted new records, as they await disney sprint and directv. the dow rose 44 important. only 3 points below the all time high. the u.s. justice department is conducting a criminal investigation into a possible leak of confidential information at the federal reserve. the fed chair janet yellen announced it to republicans. lawmakers are looking into whether market sensitive information was leaked from an interest rate policy meeting in 2012. mcdonald's says it wants to simplify and focus on commerce. the company's ceo says he plans to get rid of layers of

"cbs news" has learned of a troubling iran crease in sexual misconduct with agents with customs and border protection. >> that is the largest agency with 45,000 agents. anna warner reports. >> reporter: for eight years he handled sexual misconduct investigations as the chief of internal affairs at u.s. customs and border protection. what he saw disturbed him. between 2012 and 2014 he found there was a spike of more than 45 sexual misconduct cases against agents a. rate he says was significantly higher than in other law enforcement agencies. what was your reaction to that? >> a problem i believed was significant and serious problem was perhaps even worse than i thought it was.

>> reporter: so last april, he e-mailed his boss the commissioner about the disturbing and disproportionate number of cases in the agent's work force. >> and what response did you receive? >> i did not receive a response. >> a "cbs news" investigation found in the last six years, at least 21 customs or border patrol agents have been indicted or pled guilty to sexual offenses on and off duty rangeing from sexual assault to possession of child pornography and molestation. five agents were arrested in the past year. a 23-year-old veteran of the secret service blames the problems on part on a lack of screening, of more than 15,000 agents hired between 2006 and 2012 and never given polygraphs now procedures for the new agency. he says one of those not polygraphed was agent monte na rez. they say he picked up a woman

and two u.s. girls trying to cross the border along the rio grande. sexually assaulted them and tried to kill two of them. he eventually brought one to his apartment and raped her. when federal agents knocked on his door he committed suicide. >> i think many people subjected to polygraph screening would be found to be unsertable. >> reporter: he says he was pressured to resign and retired early when he brought this subject to light. the agency declined a repeated interview. they told us in a statement the vast majority of employees do the right thing the cite day. >> that spokesperson told us in the past six years the agency has had 285 documented complaints or allegations related to sexual misconduct. anna warner "cbs news," new york. coming up after your local news on "cbs this morning," how police prevented a massacre.
