this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". nice and warm again today. but we could start seeing some thunderstorms, katie has more on the chanceshowers and storms coming up in a moment. >> new information about a shooting, that left a philadelphia girl seriously injured over the weekends. find out what police say may have been the cause of the gunfire. >> good morning, everyone, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm erika von tiehl. right over to katie to get a check on warmer weather is some showers. all is calm and collected overlooking the ben franklin bridge right now. pretty clear sky overhead. despite that, temperatures have not dropped off all that

much. yesterday was obviously nice, warm sunny day felt a lot more like summer than nipping. certainly we will keep the pattern going in terms of the warm. back to the same deal on storm scan pretty nasty thunderstorms errupting over the wisconsin and illinois border, you can see, that this front is sort of draped even though you don't have wet weather everywhere, the clouds sort of drape it across portions every pennsylvania, so as we zero in to our area, for now again it, clear quiet, about you we are going to eventually see those clouds thicken more with time, then eventually, some wet weather is going to erupt. now, at this point it does not appear as though any thunderstorms would be locally severe, however, there could be some gusty winds embedded within them. we could end one some lightning, as well. if you hear thunder you always want to head inside. if you hear thunder you are close enough to a storm to be struck by lightning, always just the rule of thumb no matter the severity we're calling for. meanwhile currently at 64 degrees, isn't that nice? sixty-two in wilmington, and there are couple of cooler spots, like the outlying

jan, good morning. >> three little girls, sisters, sitting in back seat of their car when stray bullet shattered the window and hits the oldest girl just seven years old in the head. we are told the built is still in her head. police continue to search for the gunman responsible take a look at the video shockingly enough, police say there is could have all started because someone got impatient originally while sitting behind the wheel and stuck behind a park car. this is the scene 53rd and haverford in west philadelphia, saturday night police say unsuspecting man had pulled over to put something in his car for his three, five, seven year old daughters sitting in the back seat soon after he heard the shot, and he heard the glass shatter. his seven year old started to scream. he saw blood little did they all know at the time, she had a bullet lodged in her head. she was taken to children's hospital, police say the small caliber bullet fractured her skull doctors

happening today closing argument in the trial of six philadelphia police officers charged with corruption. jury heard from only one of the six former narcotics officers on trial, they are accused of stealing money and drugs from suspect, built on testimony of drug dealers and one ex office here pleaded guilty. >> new york city police officer has died after he was shot in the head inside his unmarked squad car. twenty-five year old brian moore was in a coma after undergoing surgery. on saturday, moore and his patrol partier attempt to go stop a man suspected of caring a gun in queens. police say that suspect blackwell, fired twice at the officers striking moore in the head and face. blackwell-being held without bail. the nation's largest muslim advocacy organization has condemned an attack by two gunmen outside profit new whom and cartoon contest. council on islamic american

relations says violent response is more insulting to the muslim fate than any cartoon. elton simpson and his roommate, in the ear accused of shooting unarmed guard sunday night. an officer with that guard returned fire, killing those men. the fbi had been investigating simpson for years for ties to terrorism. we brought you these pictures live, right here yesterday morning now we know several small fires burning in the south jersey pinelands may have been intentionally set. the fires are burning in pemberton township cup -- burlington county. scorched 808 acres. the focus of the fire fighting effort was near route 70. no homes or structures were threatened. >> well, tragedy for local family, three women gather to grieve the loss of their grandmother, and are killed by a fast-moving mobile home fire in chester county. the charred remains of the home are all that is left along the 300 block of hill road, in west allentown ship. two men and two children were able to escape but family

comcast moving forwards, company just released second quarter earnings. >> money watch's jill wagner joins us from the new york torque stock exchange, so all wondering how did comcast do? >> pretty good. good morning things, say, are still looking up at comcast despite, spending millions on that take over plan, so the philadelphia based company saying first quarter profit were up 10% compared to last year comcast now has as many internet subscribers as cable

good tuesday morning feeling like summer outside temperatures in the 60s but at least dry for now on the road. this is the ben franklin bridge coming from the jersey side, the right lane block due to construction, all the way through mid-span, but traffic getting around, no problem with the light volume this morning 95, is in good shape, at cottman, both directions northbound, and southbound, headed into the city so no impact there. but we do have overturned vehicle on 295 northbound, this is at route 30, white horse pike, around bellmawr, new jersey, left and center lanes block. already seeing some slow backups here, on 295 again northbound, a.c. expressway, eastbound near route 50, left lane closed, car fire, this is right before the egg harbor city toll plaza but still volume light. not big impact at this moment. house fire in towamenson, saw mill way near troxell road. the alternate weikel road.

are told by police, that bullet is still lodged in her head. fortunately, we are also told that she will be okay. now, police are searching for the gunman responsible who police say possibly fired into a car filled with kids, because they got mad while behind the wheel. >> three little girls sisters, sat in what though thought was the safety of their back seat in west philadelphia saturday night. but, their peace of mind along with the glass shielding them, shattered in a instant. a stray bullet pierced the window and hit the oldest just seven years old, in the head. police say possibly because dad pulled over his car to get something at 53rd and half forwards, and may have blocked traffic. >> we think a car may have been stuck in traffic and may have been frustrated, now slowing down because of the congestion over there pulls by him fires from the car all we have on it is black sedan. fires one shot striking the window. >> police say the bullet narrowly missed the three and five year old sisters the seven year old taken
