>> good morning, in the news this morning, family un fire in west philadelphia. >> a stray bullet injuries a little girl, sitting in the back seat after car and philadelphia police think they know why it happened. now, at police headquarters with what the investigation has revealed. good morning! judge police say they believe the gunman to be responsible for this shooting, that opened fire, into this car they believe, that this person may have done this, because they got upset originally, behind the wheel. more on that in just a minute, but first, little girl who was injured, just seven years old police say that bullet is still lodged in her skull but miraculously, they do expect her to be okay. >> little girls, sisters sitting in the safe tiff of their back seat friday night. peace of minds along with the glass shielding them shoot nardine stant. stray bullet, pierced the window, hit the oldest just

seven years old, in the head. police say possibly because dad pulled over his car to get something at 53rd and haverford, and may have blocked traffic. >> we think a car may have been stuck in traffic and may have been frustrated, now slowing down congestion over there pulls over, fires on the car. all weaver is a black sedan fires one shot striking the window. >> police say the bullet narrowly missed the three and five year old sisters the seven year old was taken to children's hospital, and investigators say small caliber bullet, fractured her skull, and still lodged in her head. doctors are contemplating how to to remove it, but the girl is expected to be okay. >> walking around the hospital, seemed to be in good spirits, probably doesn't even realize what happened here. >> police are now searching the area for surveillance video, investigators are looking for black car possibly two, three people inside that night. they want witness toss step forward for help. >> probably doesn't see them because the way of the say they are setting in the car

not travel outside of the airport, highlighting how dangerous that country remains . >> six philadelphia police officers charged with corruption only one of the six former narcotics officers, testified during the trial charged with stealing money and drugs from suspect, then lying about it, in court. >> the justice department's case is built on the testimony of drug dealers and one ex offers here pleaded guilty. >> today, authorities expect to release the identity the three women killed in a chester county fire. on monday, the woman gathered grieve the loss of a grandmother before the fire tore through their mobile home on the 300 block of hill road, in west call un township. two men and two children, were able to escape. but, family members say, that the three women just could not make it out in time. >> she said the two aunt and

cousin were killed in the fire because they couldn't get out the hole the uncle and the children got out of the back of the howls. she said the uncle tried to rip open an open for them but they refused to jump. >> the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, the chester county fire marshall is investigating. >> southeastern new york state, fire scorching nearly 1,000 acres, in a heavily forest dollars region, and it is still burning. it started on sunday, has been moving eastward, across that region. at least one community has already been evacuated. fire officials have not released a cause. >> forest fires are a problem in new jersey, investigators believe someone intentionally set several small fires in burlington county. monday, fires tore through 80 acres, leaving scorched pinelands in their wake. most of the fire fighting effort focused along route 70. no homes or structures were threatened. some new york city police

officers are wearing a mourning band on their badge following the death after officer who was shot in the head over the weekends 25 year old brian moore was in a coma after undergoing surgery. on saturday, moore and his partner why attempt to go stop a manny suspected of caring a gun in queens. that suspect blackwell fired twice at the officers, striking moore in the head and face. black-well-being head without bail. >> well, new york grieves over another fallen officer philadelphia police are working on building friendships with teenagers in officers joined about dozen young men at the right recreation center in west philly last night. now, not only did the officers play some hoops with the tones, they talk about their role in the community. >> they don't seem threatening, they seem like regular human regular people. >> that's good. because we are here to help. anybody, we don't mind lit

discount. my name's flo, you want to go out with me? no. uh-huh-huh! morning, it is a "eyewitness news" exclusive. as this weekend's broad street run, turns into a race to save lives. >> this morning, two runners are alive and thankful that some philadelphia police officers were nearby. morning the tens every thousands who laced up on sunday, there were two run heres collapsed with heart problems, during that ten-mile race. the first runner, seen there in some fbi video obtained exclusively by "eyewitness news", that person saved by quick thinking police officers 2 miles into the race. second runner brought back to life after he fell unconscious after finish the finish line. >> gentlemen standing as close as tour me right now channels in the front of me. they strange into action, they revived the individual.

>> justin, thank you. 6:37. after dropping to record lows between 2,009 and 2013 americans continue to feel more optimistic about retirement. >> for more we're joined by cbs news business analyst jill schlessinger up in new york for us. morning. >> good morning. >> we start with confidence levels. how are people feeling? >> we're doing pretty well. 22% of americans are very confident about retirement. it is up from 13% in 2013. 36% are somewhat confident that gives us 58% feeling pretty good. and that's the good news. unfortunately, 24% are not at all confident. that's basically unchanged after the last couple of years. folks who led this study ebri note that confidence is strongly related to whether or not people actually have retirement plans. >> well, from confident to actual brass tax how are we doing on savings? let's talk money here? >> 67% of all workers or their spouses and 78% of

full-time workers have saved for retirement. doing the good news-bad news here sorry guys. total savings remain pretty low. 57% say total value of their savings and investment, less than 25 grand. that includes 28% who have less than thousand bucks. now, as would you expect, retirement savings increases when you have higher household income, and more education. >> jill, with retirement savings slow, got to have plan b. what's plan b for americans? >> well, according to the survey, work remembers definately relying on working longer. a later retirement date, in fact. back in 1991, just 11% of workers expected to retire at around age 65. this year, that number is more than tripled to 36% let me just pop in here with a word of caution. working longer always sound like great solution. what happens if your boss hasn't booth into your plan b or you have job that's too physically demands to go continue later in life? for more on how to take

i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.
