4:33 am
at its peak authorities used reverse 911 to warn residents. they called them and they closed the stretch of route 206 in shamong. firefighters spent part of the evening setting controlled fires and taking advantage of fire break lines. fire fighting helicopters are also very important tools in fighting this fire. the next ten hours of this operation will be monitoring, patrolling, mopping up hot spots. >> no injuries to report, and no damage structures either. the fire danger throughout new jersey is listed as very high. there is no word yet on how that fire started. so the big question now will mother nature give firefighters the upper hand? >> let's check in with katie with the latest on our forecast, good morning. >> i would say the weather isn't necessarily going to hinder the firefighters, but it is going to be one of the situations where traveling becomes very, very difficult for you this morning. on storm scan3 at first glance, if you just quickly lock at this, it looks totally fine. if you look really closely, do
4:34 am
you see this very, very thin little glaze of light gray that is shrouding over delaware portions of southeastern new jersey, that's fogment satellite has really hard time picking up on fog, just because it is solo to the ground. so you're going to end count their out there today and including the fact that you have smoke out from that fire, that we just talked about that will greatly reduce your visibilities. not everywhere, southeastern counties specifically, and you can see that reflected here in the live neighborhood network. 53 degrees at the boardwalk plaza in rehoboth, cool granted but comfortable. here is dense fog advisory posted then for basically the shore points and just inland of that, so northwestern burlington county not included. they will last us until 8:00, or 9:00 this morning depends on location, but bottom line basically stuck with the fog this those communities through the morning rush. meanwhile, hour by hour, we take you through the day at least specific to philadelphia, only find couple every clouds overhead there is ends up being nice, warm, sunny day for us yet again from philly on north and west.
4:35 am
but the further southeast you travel, the more you are going to find in the way of fog specially again this morning. but it is sunny warm otherwise for everybody else later on today meanwhile we do have our first named storm a little sooner than the start of the official hurricane season but subtropical storm ana now churning off to the south. so watching that. we will have some indirect impact from that. that summer like warmth looks like it will just keep ongoing. we will be talking more about that through the course of the morning, and in the meantime, enjoy the fact that you have got some sun sign and warmth to go with the final day back to work. vittoria, good morning. >> thank you so much katie. good morning everyone. good morning katie as well. if you are traveling in and around center city philadelphia, you're moving well. i would say really generally speaking all over the place you look great. let's talk specifically the vine. if you are traveling on the vine street expressway, we do have construction zone. if you are commuting eastbound direction, so that's between the schuylkill and broad street. now you will notice folks are just flying on by. we still have cones set up compromise ago lane or two so
4:36 am
it is one lane only. how much, it is still easy access if you are heading down toward 95, using the vine street expressway, you can definitely take an alternate. but really it is not really necessary. we don't have too much volume at all if any. if you are traveling on 95, this is 95 right around bridge street cottman avenue, we do have construction here, as well, again, it is affecting both sides. but because volume is solo, it not going to cause that much of a problem for you. in new jersey, trenton road still closed between route 30 and stokes, as a result after forest fire. soap, if you are traveling in and around that area, be mindful of some activity, that is still ongoing. and, the dad vail regatta starts today. kelly drive closed between strawberry mansion and fountain green ongoing so the schuylkill or 33rd is your best alternate. no major delays for mass transit. >> new this morning, neighbor surveillance camera catches bike thief in the act. wissinoming woman bought a surveillance camera after her children's bikes were stone, but it caught someone stealing

4:38 am
it no longer to be confidential. at that point we decided to be trans lucent. we feel we handled this situation properly. >> i believe that the city of dover acted properly when they released the video. i think the community had a right to see that. and i think that transparency is very important. >> officer webster turned himself in on monday, and has been released on bail. he's also been suspended without pay pending the outcome of that case. new information this morning about attempted attack outside profit muhammad cartoon contest in texas. federal investigators now say they new one of the suspects had an interest in the event. fbi director james comb i says hours before the event agents learned elton simpson might show up. but, they say they did not know of plans to launch an attack. simpson and his roommate, nadir, were shot and killed sunday when they opened fire

4:41 am
4:42 am
>> morning, incredible video to show you capturing the very moment a septa driver somehow slips out of her seat and drives a route 29 bus onto train tracks in south philly. the bus was traveling on columbus boulevard tuesday when it made a u-turn at dickinson street. when the driver fell she lost control of the bus which crossed a median, before getting on the tracks. it nearly hit a stopped freight train. "eyewitness news" spoke with septa about why the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. >> it is definitely something that she should have been wearing. and if she had had that seatbelt on, i'm sure we would not be looking at this accident. >> the driver and two passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash septa is not releasing the name of
4:43 am
that worker. >> that's not snow you see right there on a colorado highway. it is hail. so much of it fell along interstate 25, that cars were actually getting stuck in it. and it wasn't just hail either. heavy rain, brought flooding to part of the area, as well. meantime at least one of three tornados that touched down in texas last night wow the wedge tornado was captured on camera in the town of crumb. that's just north of dallas. there are no report of any injuries or major damage, though, from that storm. >> and, elsewhere in texas check it out officials say lightning sparked an explosion, in a gas well, huge flames there, authorities had to shut down portions every interstate 35. that fire we're told is so intense, officials are just going to leave it be, and let it burn itself out. but lightning started that. just forget the power of mother nature sometimes just incredible. >> this is a crazy week of wetter. >> no kidding across the country, but for us pretty
4:44 am
mild. >> for us really looking at very tranquil weather overall overall granted, but as we continue to track lets me put my microphone on. all right, let's start this over again. as we continue to track the very volatile weather across the eastern half of the us, everything from winds, to hail to tornados, heavy rain to tropical system, subtropical, but we do have our first named system here off the carolina coastline in ana. this is the one that will have the most impact on our weekends, even though it is not expected to be any kind of direct hit to our area. we do still have high pressure generally keeping control right now and this is actually going to help suppress this storm to our south in the days ahead. what's happening, you have clockwise flow around high pressure counter clockwise flow around low pressure, and the two flows, even though they are pretty weak, are basically helping to funnel in more after on shore flow to
4:45 am
our area. because the winds is so light it has led to extremely poor visibility. one region is very obviously standing out to you like a sore thumb here, where you are at least at or below a half mile. that includes atlantic city, wildwood millville dover where you are under half mile right now. and then everywhere else inbetween. so do you have keep in mind, that if you are traveling out that way, you are going to run into poor visibility. everybody else, bank on sunday shine t looks like a great nice warm day too. the high hitting 84 degrees, later on tonight we drop to 61 under partly cloudy sky still well above the norm by the way. then we look forward in the forecast, keep the mid 80s going right into the early part of the week. watching for fog both tomorrow and sunday morning then we, let me just step out of the way and show you this, then we hit 87 degrees on tuesday, a steamy, summer-like day out there and that is all courtesy of cold front that is set to cross throughment ukee, back to you. >> katie thanks a l we are hearing from patriots quarterback tom brady for the first time since an nfl
