cbs-3 sky deck with the first forecast. >> in complaints here, chris you will not hear me say it ties hot after the winter that we had. it is a beautiful day with a few high cloud. we have a subtropical system on us to the sout it will bring in a little more moisture over the course of the weekend. we have been talking about this for a week. lets look at storm scan three. we have see high cloud over us but see that swirl off the coast of the carolinas that is ana and it will continue to bring some moist air up the eastern seaboard. that means some higher humidity, and actually, we're also looking at some fog over the next couple of mornings. right now in philadelphia 81. eighty-six in allentown. eighty-five in reading. cooler down the shore in the 70's. normal hig only 71. this evening will be picture perfect, temperatures falling through the 70's by 9:71, 68 degrees by 11:00. but then that southeasterly wind that will persist will create dense fog through south jersey and delaware. so come tomorrow morning we will start off with poor

visibility, less than a quarter mile at times so please, slow down because that will persist into saturday morning and then a repeat performance, come sunday morning, on mothers day. with that i'll have more on the mothers day forecast coming upen i join you inside. >> kathy thanks. fire fighters are close to containing this brush fire at wharton state for necessary burlington county. that fire has been burning since yesterday afternoon near route 206, and quakerbridge road in shamong. it is now about 75 percent contained. now earlier today we got a closer look at where some of the controlled burning is happening. officials are hopeful they will have that fire completely out by the end of the night. so far more than 700 acres have dried brush has burned over the last 24 hours. what a difference a day makes the view from chopper three shows exactly what fire fighters were up against last night, the good news is no homes or buildings are threatened by the fire and no injuries have been reported.

officials say favorable conditions overnight helped crews maintain the upper hand. >> last night we had high relative humidity. the last night with the fog coming in off of the ocean and also the the humidity, 100 percent, so that dampens down and makes fire until air dries out. >> it is unclear how fire started but officials say it was most likely caused by humans. arrest warrant has been issued in connection with the sexual assault in fishtown and this is the suspect police are looking for. he is 24 year-old manual sintron, back on may 1st a 22-year old woman was walking on east york street when police say a man with a gun forced her into a minivan. that van was caught here on surveillance video. now after the women was assaulted she was set free at almond and boston streets. a motorist is hit and killed while tend to go his disable car in upper southampton bucks county. fifty-eight year-old sinobi

palvo broke down near street road and gravel hill road just before 11c this morning. police say he was hit after he stepped out in the roadway. the dump truck driver involved in, did remain at the scene and we're told no charges are expected to be filed. in king of prussia an accident involving five vehicles has left at least two people hurt tonight. chopper three over the intersection of allendale and keebler roads just after 3:00 this afternoon. all of those injured were sent to the hospital. there is no word on their conditions tonight and it is not clear what cause that had crash. in bucks county police continue to investigate a home invasion robbery from overnight in new britain township. two masked men burst into a home in the 100 block of limekiln pike just after midnight, four roommates inside were held at gunpoint. police say that the suspect may have been looking for something specific. >> they might have thought there was more then there really was, i don't know but house was targeted. the it wasn't a random act.

>> suspects got away with cash electronics and a cell phone. police were able to track that phone to the to you inner montgomery county before it was turned off. a neighbor's surveillance camera captured a bike thief in the act. a woman in wissonoming bought a surveillance camera after her own kid bikes were stolen but then her camera, caught someone stealing her six year-old neighbor bike. all this happened in the 4200 block of howell street yesterday afternoon. she has posted that video on facebook and is now asking for help, in finding the the man who did this. police are searching for this suspected scam artists in center city. police say this woman put a device on a atm in the 1800 block of jfk boulevard to steel peoples account numbers. investigators aren't sure if any information was stolen, but if you somehow recognize that person from the surveillance photo you are asked to call 911. new 59:00 it is a bitter sweet graduation day at temple

university. thousands of students are celebrating the end of the journey. they are paying tribute to a classmate critically injured in the hit and run crash who could not walk with them today. "eyewitness news" reporter matt river is live at temple with details matt. >> reporter: certainly an emotional day on temple campus. that young woman you are talking about is 22-year old rachel hall injured in that accident last week after the driver fled that scene. today her mother accepted her degree on her behalf. a standing ovation for kathy hall, 22-year old mother who said all week she would attend graduation ceremonies for her daughter rachel. rachel was critically injured last wednesday night riding her bike on the temple campus. the driver 18 year-old rashawn roberts fled initially but gave a full confession the next morning after his parents turn him into police. roberts was officially charge with fleeing the scene of the accident on thursday. rachel hall was set to graduate this week after a

successful lacrosse career at temple. she was set to be a police officer in washington d.c., post graduation. today her fellow classmates said the standing ovation showed their support for the stand out student. >> i didn't know her but when i heard about her situation i felt really bad and i'm glad that her mom came and everyone stood up for her. >> i felt so bad that she could not be here today. i'm really happy that her mommies still here and she had the opportunity to have the support of everyone here. >> reporter: while her mom accepted her degree rachel remains in critical condition at temple university hospital. that is where she remains tonight. her parents say she has made limited progress toward recovery, as for her long term prognosis doctors say it is too early to tell. story we have been following for a week, we will continue to follow it, we are live on the temple university campus, matt rivers for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> we know you will, math the math thanks very much. is there more trouble for

bill cosby. police in atlantic city are investigating rape allegations against him. lily bernard claims that cosby drugged and raped her. she reportedly spoke with atlantic city police last week. it is unclear when the alleged incident occurred but there is no statute of limitations on rape in the state of new jersey. bernard's attorney gloriaal red read that lily vice glad that she made her report yesterday and she want other women to know if they alleged and have evidence that they were victimized by mr. cosby in new jersey that they should also reporter that allegations to the police there. still to come here on "eyewitness news" at 5:00 pretty startling image on a x-ray scan a little boy inside of a small suitcase, we will have the story behind this discovery made by customs agents. paid maternity levies rare in the u.s., jim donovan is on your identify with how new moms and dad are coping during the time when both parents are

small plane crash in atlanta kills all four people on board. that plane had taken off from the airport before it crashed on to interstate 285. witnesses say pilot was struggling to get the nose of the plane up and then that plane just dropped. the crash started an intense fire on the busy georgia road but in one on the ground was hurt.

this could be a tense weekend for plane states there is a threat of more bad weather after dozens of tornadoes caused december trucks this week. take a look at aftermath in bridge creek, oklahoma. residents there are now sorting through ruble trying to salvage whatever they can many are vowing to rebuild. >> we will rebuild and build again if we have to. >> tornado touched down in wise county, texas last night causing damage there to several homes no word on any injuries. new york city judge declared a mistrial in the trial of the man accused murdering etan patz. jury told court it was hopelessly dead locked after 18 days of deliberations. pedestrian tro hernandez of maple shade is accused of murdering the six year-old boy in 1979. hernandez confessed on tape three years ago but his lawyer maintains his client is mentally ill. a tan bates a's picture was first to appear on milk cartons.

tradition, returns to the banks of the schuylkill river. >> chopper three is over the 77th annual dad vail regatta the biggest collegiate rowing competition in the country. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer has this story. >> reporter: with each stroke these rowers make their way down the the schuylkill river a race to the finish as part of the largest rowing competition in the country. and back in the grandstanded a sea of support for student like sam alter a senior at franklin and marshall college in lancaster county. surrounded by family his team finished second qualifying for quarter finals a competition he says is more important than walking at graduation. >> like my olympics. >> mag in a carta he made the right choice. do what you love to do. >> reporter: he isn't alone just hours into the competition, kelly drive was pack with people, there to celebrate the accomplishments

>> that is right. >> i'm's so happy that the weather is great for that. >> just terrific. you cannot beat it. we are looking at summer like weather through weekend and then things will change. do you want to see how warm it got where you lived? our eyewitness weather watchers on duty, you'll see on the bottom of the outside we are looking at beautiful conditions from the city to down the shore some fog down the shore, usually we can see all the way up the boardwalk, the north end near wonder land on the ocean city boardwalk. we are going to contend with more fog through south jersey and delaware, even some sneaking into philadelphia, over the course of the weekend. as we take assume in you can see folks on the boards this afternoon. not as busy as a couple weeks for sure. live neighborhood network takes to us boardwalk plaza rehoboth beach same scenario. look at this some fog some folks on the beach temperature only 59 degrees with that persistent east southeasterly wind. ocean water temperatures are only in the lower 50's so that is all we will get as far as, beach temperatures.

right now in philadelphia 81. seventy-seven in wilmington. eighty-five in reading. allentown 86 degrees. wildwood 72 at rio grand. seventy-two in cape may. cooler in avalon at 69 degrees. in ocean city the temperature is 70 with ocean water temperature at 56 degrees. now we will continue to see high pressure build in through the region over the course of the weekend. during the day tomorrow southeasterly wind bringing that persistent flow with low pressure to the north and west of the cold front and ana a subtropical system churning off the coast of the mid-atlantic. we will get high clouds from this higher humidity and temperatures in the 80's. really feel difference with the humidity by sunday. morning fog is expect as well with that moisture and temperatures expected to stay in the 80's. by monday and tuesday they come closer to go, this cold front will be setting off some showers and even some thunderstorms by the time we make it into next week. the let's focus on this tropical moisture, from ana. we will continue to filter the

i'm lynne abraham. when i became philadelphia's da, child victims had to face a judge ...a jury...the public... and testify eye to eye with their attackers. it wasn't right. so i got a constitutional amendment passed allowing children to testify remotely. i'm running for mayor for the same reason -- our children should come first. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i disagree. we have to improve education for all of our children.

well this sunday as we celebrate mothers, here is an interesting fact, 170 countries around the world offer new mothers some form of paid leave from their jobs. the you had though is in the one of them. >> as three on your side reporter jim donovan finds while new parents are offered generous support by their companies others have to dig deep into their sick leave and bank accounts in order to care for their new baby. >> reporter: erika shiplet was able to spend three months at home to care for her new born son noah, mostly paid for by using future sick time but when she learn that she was pregnant she wasn't sure how she would be able to stay at home to care for him. >> i'm pregnant, my gosh, what willie do for leave if you have not saved leave. >> reporter: some experts say paid leave can actually benefit companies.

come again. this is day we have been waiting for. we have an eye on ana off the coast of the carolinas and i'll tell you how that will impact us. we have morning fog and a big cool down by middle of next week, i will have details with the seven day forecast. >> kate, thanks. baltimore police department is under watchful eye of the justice department. this follows the police custody death of freddie gray that sparked protest and riots. as correspondent marley hall reports, federal investigators will be looking into baltimore's policeing practices. after a visit to baltimore earlier this week, attorney general loretta lynch announced a federal probe of the cities police force. >> the department of justice is opening an investigation into whether the baltimore police department has engaged in a pattern or practice of violations of the constitution, or federal law. >> reporter: the investigation will look for discriminatory policing practices including any patterns of use of deadly force or improper stop and

searches. >> if unconstitutional policies or practices are found, we will seek a court enforceable agreement to address those issues. >> reporter: investigation follows death of freddie gray, a 25 year-old black man fatally injured in police custody. his death sparked days of unrest in maryland's largest city, more than 200 people were arrested as cars and businesses burn. mayor stephanie rawlins blake requested the justice department launch the investigation. >> failure is not an option. >> reporter: lynn hotch took office last week had vowed to pursue police reform. >> our goal, it is to work with the community public officials and law enforcement align to create a stronger, better baltimore. >> reporter: federal authorities are conducting a te civil rights investigation into the death of freddie gray. marley hall for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a sea of blue in long island today for funeral of new york city police officer brian moore who was kill in the line of duty.

as many as 30,000 police officers across the the nation paid their respects to officer moore. 259 year-old died monday after being shot in the head by a gunman in queens last saturday. that suspect has been charged with murder. customs workers in spain were shocked to find an eight year-old boy smuggled inside of a suitcase. workers scanned the suitcase they spot that had human silhouette on the screen. authorities say a young woman smuggled the boy in the country from the ivory coast. she's now facing charges the child is okay and is in the custody of social services. british prime minister david cameron says he will form a conservative government after securing majority in the britain general election. cameron defied expectations by winning a majority of the seats in parliament. leaders of the liberal democrats party and labor party resigned today after suffering very disappointing losses. well, the skies over washington d.c. looked like 1945 again today dozens of

seeing sunshine down the shore. fog will be a issue throughout the the weekend. dense fog advisory has been issued. this will go right through 11:00 o'clock saturday morning for all areas south and east of philadelphia. that includes all of south jersey and all of the state of delaware, not philadelphia with you i do want to show you future visibility. even by 1:00 a.m. we will see visability down below half mile in our shore point and by early saturday morning, we are seeing visibility again up to a tenth of the mile even in philadelphia pockets of dense fog, early sat kay 5:00 a.m. same story and by eight or 9:00 we will see visability improve and more sunshine take over. watch out outside on the road early tomorrow morning that dense fog will come up very quickly. here is subtropical storm ana sitting and spinning off the coast in a squeeze play with an advancing front and that is pushing some warm, moist air into our region. you know that if you have been outside but it only ramps up this weekend. here's where an a is and track of the low that will intensify

sunday is the 25th annual, raise for the the cure, for breast cancer. >> one mom has seven reasons to celebrate being a survivor. our pat ciarrocchi has her story. >> mommy too. >> reporter: when life gives you seven children, patty rose says every minis filled with someone, or something. >> my hand were already full, raising seven children, how could i fit this into my life. >> reporter: in 2013 at age 36 patty had to make room to battle for a lifetime. she had an aggressive breast cancer. >> i told miningal, i said i will kick it and take tonight 2013. that is exactly what i did. >> reporter: the diagnosis was no game neither was treatment. chemotherapy for 14 straight days, every month for six months.
