and we begin with breaking news this morning, in mercer county, new jersey, dozens of residents forced out after a raging apartment fire. good morning everyone. >> we want to get right out to "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo, at windsor castle ants in east windsor good morning. >> reporter: good morning, officials have not updated reporters about the cause and how this fire all started this morning, they are still trying to get all of that together. but, there are dozens of displaced resident out here this morning who can fill us in as to what happened this morning. i have one here with us right now, he lives in a neighboring building to go where this fire started. take us through what you saw this morning when you woke up, then all of the fire that you saw. >> well, we all woke up due to banking due to police trying to evacuate my building because, you know, they just wanted us to, you know, get to

safety, the fact of the fire was really blazing, it was really bad. a guy jumped out his window due to the fact he couldn't get to the front door because the fire was really bad. a lot of people are misplaced at this moment. i know couple of people that are misplaced some just left to go with their family members. because they have no where to go. like either, because right now, i know a friend of mine she is standing over there she is misplaced so they have to figure out where they will go after this, either move in with family member or see what the government does for them or something, don't know. >> right. because they were in the building where the fire actually started. describe what you saw once were you evaculated from your apartment. how big wasment snap. >> as i evaculated it was still in the middle, really big, because the gas exploded and it was really big. when we got out it looked like the fire department could not control t then eventually they got all got it controlled. >> so what has it been like

this morning? obviously a very long unexpected morning for you? >> it has been frustrated morning, i haven't slept yet. so i have school today. but, you know, i don't think we're going to school because of the fire, of course. i mean, it sucks. it really does suck. >> thank you so much. we'll talk to you after camera in just a little bit. we found people eyewitness video of this fire, it is huge, you guys, take a look behind me, see firefighters do not have everything under control. they are putting out hot spots. see them on the ladder here. couple of ladders marked still with the ladders outstretched this morning as well, as you heard that eyewitness say they spot one person jumping to safety from a second story window you could see all left behind. not talking much about how this fighter dollars is that -- how this fire started but displaced resident say two hours or so now. this is the windsor castle amounts here in east windsor.

as soon as we get more information, we will get it straight to you. for now in east windsor, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news". >> thank up, now very clear picture every suspect following a fight in darby borough, third street, greenly avenue yesterday. cell phone video caught the whole thing. officers say that after the melee, this man fired several shots with children playing nearby. no one was hit by that gunfire but one bullet did hit a house. no word yet on what started that fight. if you have any information about the suspect you are asked to call police. also, significant damage and several injuries are being reported after severe thunderstorms hit texas last night. now, there is even a report of tornado near the city of van. in sisco texas town cleaning up after tornado hit saturday. destroying several buildings and killing one person. resident say it seemed at first like a very calm day. >> everything is calm, and still there is no wind or

rain, and i look to the west, and i can see it circling, and i can hear it, sound like plane going over the house. >> crews have also rescued several people stranded in flashfloods. some parts of north texas have seen six to 7 inches of rain over the last four days. we will have live report from texas coming up in our next half hour of "eyewitness news". >> right now, we want our forecast for the day. katie, how are we looking? >> still looking very summer like out here in our area, erika, very same locations continued to get hit by storms after storm on regular basis through the midwest southern planes, that frontal boundary eventually crosses through the area. meantime, still heating up here yet again. we have had couple of mornings with fog right now, skewing the center city skyline for us yet again on "skycam 3". how much, even though dense fog advisories have been put into effect for southeastern new jersey, and delaware, already lifted. appears as though the fog will have a chance to disperse little sooner for us, still

finding it in some spots. so even because of the advisories been lifted it doesn't necessarily mean you won't find fog out there. for now, storm storm scan still essentially empty watching for the poor visibility the further south you travel or rather i should say south and east. what's left at this point of ana. it continues to push on shore. it will recur every and then eventually skirt off the delve delaware new jersey tonight. no direct impact to our area. it will keep just some clouds, likely will trigger shower, thunderstorm before the day is said and done watch does it tell you? still finding half mile visibility in atlantic sit, for example under 2 miles milville and wildwood. it is patchy and out there. just watch for that. that obviously should say monday, but as we move forward in this hour by hour forecast, starting off with a few low clouds, and eventually as the day progresses looking at partly sunny and very warm day once again specking mid 80s moving forward in the nor cast for yet another day. few more days that far heat. and then much cooler air start to finally move in.

more on that in a kim of minute justin, good morning. >> good morning i'm sure a lot of people wish it was still saturday, waking up monday morning, so far so good as far as the weather conditions go, fog not much of an issue. it will be near the areas near water so certainly that jersey shore and near the delaware bay might run into dense fog. ninety-five at cottman looking good in philadelphia, both direction action, northbound and southbound. we take to you 76, at girard avenue. both eastbound and westbound no problems this morning. speeds are looking good. and there is your speeds across the region, again mainly at the speed limit right now in the city and surrounding suburbs out to the west and northwest, new jersey looking pretty good on the turnpike, 55, and 42 freeway, no problems this hour. we do the have the fire, north marshall, fifth and seventh. again around the fire scene. watch out orland, downed trees, bruce road or america avenue blocking intersection, so lister road will get you around that blockage. then port richmond, richmond street closed between lehigh

and cambria. that will will go until june 1st. alternate is thompson or belgrade. get around that closure now because that far closure septa bus route 15 bus is bussing around this morning. because that far closure. plymouth road remains closed between 476 and butler pike due to sinkhole repairs. >> thank you just violent weekend in philadelphia, police are investigating several shootings at least two of them fatal. in lawncrest, man died last night after shooting in the 6,000 block of colgate street. the unidentified victim was shot in the torso around 9:30. the shooter fled the scene when officers got there. that person has not been found. >> three teenagers recovering from gunshot wounds after two separate shootings near south street. a 16 and 17 year old shot in the 800 block every south street recall i yesterday morning. it happened after an argument, we're told until the street, just one block away 19 year old man found shot in the leg an hour and a half later now that area was busy at the time with people out during a warm

saturday night. >> happening today charges could be upgraded against a mother accused of throwing her baby off an allentown bridge. that one year old died six days after the fall. today an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death. police say that perry who also jumped off the bridge; already charged with attempted homicide, child endangerment, and aggravated assault. >> former music teach in -- teacher, is sentenced for -- having sexual relationship with a 14 year old boy. investigators stay happened while she was a band teacher at lenape middle into 2012. >> after months of testimony the jury in the trial of the boston marathon bomber, tsarnaev dzhokhar; expected to begin deciding whether he should receive the death penalty this week. the former college student was convicted of 30 federal charges in the 2013 bombings. his lawyers are expected to call their last witness today. >> well, new this morning, new

jersey authorities say one person is dead and three other injured after gunfire broke out following an annual mother day motorcycle event in newark. it happened last night in the city's southward. the blessing of the bikes is an event hosted by the newark nights motorcycle club, to mark the beginning of the riding season. the three injured are said to have non-life threatening injuries. >> philadelphia fire investigators are trying to pinpoint what sparked a fire in a kingsessing home. we have some exclusive video from "eyewitness news" viewer, shawn barber, firefighters got the call home on 4700 block of grays avenue. man ran out of the home. woman was trapped on an alleyway awning and fell onto a car. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson interviewed a woman who helped her but did not want to appear on camera. >> the human human being so that's what made me run out and help him because i would want someone to help me in that situation. >> a hospital treated this

woman for minor burns and bruises. family members of an upper darby man missing since last week are growing concerned very concerned about his safety. rasheed young is 20 years old and has severe developmental disability. young was last seen getting into an s.u.v. around the 69 street terminal on wednesday. family members say his cell phone was discovered the next day on market street just few blocks east. they are holding out hope he is still safe. >> i say no news is good news. but then i say but no news, you know, so i go back and forth up. >> err darby police are investigate. they say they are not sure if foul play is involved or not. police ask if anyone has any knowledge of young's whereabouts to please get in contact with them. >> four people are in custody in mississippi nip connection shooting death of two police officers. thirty-four year old benjamin dean and 25 year old la cory tate killed during traffic stop in hattiesburg saturday night. >> suspect caught after

information. jan? >> reporter: ukee, erika good morning, as you can see, this is still a very active scene here in east windsor this morning. there are dozens of firefighters here on the scene, there are dozens of displaced resident. you can see the firefighters still poking around inside the fire is now out but those hot spots continue to flare up. we have engines on scene here with the ladders still extended, we have the ladder up against the second floor of this apartment building, and just inside you can see them sprague water. so this is still very active. now, officials haven't released too much information on scene at this point. they are still gathering all of the details for us, and of course firefighters are still working, so still developing right now. but we were able to speak to quite a few residents who had to leave their homes very early on in the morning, they say, that this fire broke out sometime just before 2:00 this morning. they say cops are banking on their doors to get everybody out safely. once they got out what
