ave now packed up their hose and other apparatus, kind of slowing down, but there is still a lot of activity inside of this apartment complex we actually saw some firefighters taking some water to the remaining hot spots here, so the activity is still ongoing at this time. fire officials on scene haven't given us a lot of information at this point. we are told still trying to gather to all up and give it us to at one time. now, we talked a lot of resident who live here. they tell us that they woke up to police banking on their doors, to try to get them out as the fire started and then grew very quickly they ran outside and saw a huge orange ball of fire. they tell us this apartment complex, went up fares these are the winds so cars he will amounts, on devonshire drive here in east windsor dozen of firefighters responded residents tell me at least three of the building here had to be evacuated dozens of people have been standing by, wait to go hear when they may be able to get back in, and also, wait to go hear how many people will be displaced for some time. you can see that this fire

ripped through this apartment complex, some of these homes have been completely destroyed. so we're still trying to get information about the exact number of units displaced so people here are just in shock of what happened this morning. take a listen. >> just a lot of flames, and then see how it passed down to the other buildings. >> were you surprised how fast it spread? >> yes. >> reporter: did it spread fast. >> it real did i. >> i went outside i was like oh, my god i was screaming. i went inside. i think i woke up all of the neighbors. >> reporter: now, their friends actually live in this building where this fire happened, they say, one of their friends has been left with nothing this morning. so, a loft shock and a lot of people wondering how they'll pick up the pieces today. now here on scene we do know there were some injuries, these residents told us they saw man jump from the second floor window, to safety. no update this morning on how that person is doing. no exact number on how many injuries here. just as soon as we get more information, of course we will bring it straight to you. still on very active scene

here in east windsor, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news". >> get back to us when you can, thank you. out of control brawl involving baseball bats and gunfire in darby borough. and the worse part it happened with children nearby. darby police released this video of that brawl on third street and greenway avenue. officers say after the sunday night melee there is man fired several shots with about 30, 40 children playing nearby. speaking with cbs-3, darby borough police chief robert smythe had one word to describe the participants in this wreckless incident. >> they're morons, the only way i can put this. people just take these guns, and they are shooting, in neighborhoods, full of children. i mean sooner or later someone's going to be -- there is going to be fatality here. >> no one hit by the gunfire no word as of yet what started the few. if you have any information about this suspect please, contact the police. philadelphia police are investigating a deadly shooting in lawncrest. it happened around 9:30 last

you around that closure. we take you back into new jersey, 42 freeway lined up northbound to get to 295. right a as you get to 295 there is an accident, overturned truck taking out two right lanes so the damage is done. also on 295 before that scene, it is backed up pretty well all the way through the westville new jersey area. area speeds in delaware, look good. at the speed limit on the delaware memorial bridge. as well as 95 and route one. looking at your ride, erika back to you up. >> err darby man missing since last week, his family needs help finding him. rasheed young, 20 years old and has severe developmental disabilities. young was last seen getting into an s.u.v. around 69th street terminal on wednesday. family members say cell phone was discovered, the next day on market street, just a few blocks east. they are holding out hope that he is still safe. >> i say no news is good news. but then i say but no news, you know, so i go back and forth. >> upper darby police are

investigating. they're not sure if foul play is involved. police ask if anyone has any knowledge of young's whereabouts, to give them a call. >> two were killed during traffic stop saturday night four suspect are due in court later today. they were caught after state-wide manhunt through the overnight hours. now, the mayor says, he's grateful for support for the police department and the officers' families. >> well, i have got many, many calls this morning from community leaders and people just regular citizens, they want to know how they can help. we've asked them to pray, we've asked if you have a flag eat your house just as i've done at my house to lower it at half staff. >> the suspect, 29 year alomar vin banks, and 22 year old joani calloway, each face two count of capitol murder. twenty-six year old curtis banks is facing two counts of accessary to capitol murder. fourth person corneilius clark, was charged with

obstruction of justice. today an autopsy is scheduled for a one year old allentown boy who died after his mother allegedly through him into the lehigh river. police say that boy's mother, perry, jumped into the river after throwing her son off the bridge. she survived, her son lived for six days before dying over the weekend. the lehigh county d.a. is expected to announce additional charges against the mother later today. >> former music teacher in bucks county admitted to having sex with a student scheduled for sensing iting this morning. bridge ill pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old boy. investigator say it happened while a bandleader at lenape middle school in 2012. >> and severe weather we've been talking about this all morning, sweeping the nation. >> national guard rescued families from fierce flooding in texas then, a new round of tornados ripped through the area.

area. i got to tell you we are not really going to be getting anything more than glancing blow out that far or even this. this is what's left now of tropical storm now depression ana as it starts to move on shore. then it eventually sort of recur office out to sea just barely clipping the delaware new jersey sore shines. so still no direct impact from that, as it basically starts to fizzle away. this storm system, though, across the center of the united state has been just as you heard in the report, incredible. in terms of it strength, in terms of its days worth of strong to severe wet their we've seen, snow in the dakotas, denver, rather, out toward colorado, and nasty thunderstorms along the cold front and the leading edge of it. meanwhile, both of those systems, ana as well as the front, crossing through our area, but bringing minimal impact. for now we still have the poor visibility, no dense fog advisories this time, they've been lifted. but down through millville ac wildwood, all under mile visibility. watch out for that. meanwhile, as we go throughoue day

his mother noticed something in the back of his eye. julie fit gerald went on line and red article about a woman who say a white eye in photos it turned out to be cancer. her husband dismissed it as nothing, but julie couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. >> i took a picture, did not want to take the picture because i just had this dreaded feeling in the pit of my stomach. and i took the picture and sure enough i took it of all three boys, and the other two were fine, and then his picture, boom, i mean, his whole pupil was just white. >> now, a specialist confirmed 75% of avery's iowas covered in tumors, and it had to be removed. had they waited long their cancer could have spread to his brain and blood. avery will eventually get a prosthetic eye but right now they believe that all of the cancer has been removed, and i just believe so much in that intuition you have as a parent sometimes. >> she had it in her gut. >> just new something was wrong, good for her to take

obviously, eye gets drawn to misuse i texas where the line continues to creep east. renewed threat now for severe weather, basically, from the great lakes all the way down to southeast texas. meanwhile, also notice what's going on across north carolina that's what's left at this point of what was tropical storm ana. that's actually rotating back out to sea sort of clipping just past the delaware-new jersey coastline. in the meantime, we are stuck with the steamy necessary outside. another very muggy beginning with lot of clouds. specially down near the shore point. you still got some fog issues. meanwhile, it is mild. at least you got. that will 70 degrees, holding steady at this at the airport at 67 in atlantic city, and as the day progresses, you can expect essentially more sunshine, but down along the shore again where you are likely to see the worse of any fog. no dense fog advisories posted this time around, should start to lift bill more readily. but we are still feeling those effect of a summer-like pattern in the middle of spring here, still feels like summer with the high hitting 84 easily in philadelphia

overnight. forcing residents to escape with just the clothes on their back. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now at the scene in east windsor where fire fight remembers continuing to put out those hot spots. jan, good morning. >> erika we were gustable speak with the east windsor fire chief. he was giving us a lot of new information about this fire. two people were injured in the fire, one is a firefighter with a minor injury to the foot. the other is a man who lives on the second story here, who had to jump top safety. no updates on that man's condition at this point. the fire chief went on to say that the fire started in his apartment earlier this morning. and at this point, is just not looking suspicious. you can see, what's left behind here, live on scene this morning this place is gutted. you can see, from the front all the way through, to the back we are told 16 units here are impacted. eight of them have been destroyed. and overall 20 people are displaced this morning. and being helped by the red cross. and if you take a look at this

video see just how big this fire was. we are told it caught fast. it spread fast throughout these, all of these unit here in this one apartment building and just over precaution, fire and police had to evacuate neighboring buildings, as well, told the two on back side here, so that was dozens of people out here on the street this morning taking a look at the flames that were raging, of course it took firefighters a long time to put out the flames, the flames are out, they are taking a look at hot spots right now, and at this point it is much too early to determine a cause but certainly a scene for all of the resident out here this morning, we spoke to one man who took this dramatic video he actually lives across the street, and took out his camera. take a listen. >> i woke up to a woman screaming help, help, help. so i came outside. and then i saw a cop running across the street. i look up. i saw one apartment go -- i saw flames in one apartment. then all the sudden flames got real big tore up the whole

feeling well, s safe. ask them to smile. do they smile? but half the face droops? or having numbness? >> also, their arms, ask them to raise their arms, does one droop down, or can't do it? you know? s, speech r they having trouble talking? can they understanded? ask them if the sky is blue, something not right. if they have any of those signs, call, time to call 911 right away. some people have sudden trouble with dizziness, loss of balance maybe leg sagging or bad headache. here is the thing. time is brain tissue. so if you can note the time, so say oh, my friend just had symptoms started ten minute ago, when you call 911 they get to the hospital, we have this medication called tpa that can potentially reverse these symptoms. but we have to do it quickly. you know, many people die of stroke. in fact, it the third leading cause of death in women more

women have strokes. and over a third of people less than six an are in the hospital from stroke. >> i know gender one of the risk factors certainly ones you can chang what are the ones we should be aware of you can't change? >> good point. if it runs in your family, strokes running in your family that's risk factor. if you have high blood pressure that is not controlled, that's risk factor. also family history if you have had a heart attack before all over 65 is a risk factor again, third less than 56 have t females have more strokes than men. and because they live longer, it has more disability, so it is really really important also, if you have this heart condition called ate tree fib lakes, irregular heartbeat really important to address. >> what about race factors we can change? >> inactivity, a loft russ not active. we need to exercise more. if we have high cholesterol please try to address that. one of the biggest causes is uncontrolled high blood pressure. so we need to get our blood pressure controlled. you know, over ooh% of people

have high blood pressure, not controlled. that is a major leading cause for stroke. >> some of us don't even know? >> most people don't, they have no symptoms. and ukee, also, people who smoke, or they drink too much alcohol, host are race being factors, if we can address them real important. i've seen people whose lives and their families lives have been changed imagine not able to speak or read or walk. so if we can recognize this, prevent it from happening, it is so important. if we can get them treatment right away. >> the one thing to take away. >> if you see sometimes and symptoms call 191 right away. a lot of people oh, dock my leg felt weird but i couldn't talk for few minute, but i felt okay. embarrased to go. but his is warning sign you. >> rec going through the checklist or the first one he see call? >> good point. anyone of those you see that's not normal. it is better to call the doctor or call 911 time is brain cells. we've got to get them to the emergency department quickly or we're fortunate around this area, we have stroke centers so they have teams that can
