steve. >> reporter: yes, sir contact, building's owner is speaking out, because he is facing a high amount of criticism. today the philadelphia fire chief told us that there were no working smoke or fire alarms inside of that structure, at the time the fire broke out but owner says the why is not his fault. in the aftermath of this fatal fire sources tell cbs-3 "eyewitness news" that something here, points to targeted arson. >> somebody firebombed the place. >> reporter: building landlord roger mitchell is convinced. >> somebody threw something on the first and third floor. >> reporter: fire officials say flames broke out around 6:00 this morning in this building, at the 3200 block of kensington. with no where to go several residents jumped or fell from the second story. one man died from that fall. five others injured including a child either from smoke inhalation or jumping.

then two people became trapped underneath that and both have now been rescued, and taken to an area hospital and we're told that the road is now reopened. well, a student riding a school busies injured by a brick, police say, that this bus was taking students home from the school of the future, when that brick crashed through a window. this happened along aspen street in west philadelphia. it was a female student hit in the face with that brick. she had some cuts but is expected to be okay. police believe the brick may have been tossed by a group of kids walk ago long that street. authorities are investigating a disturbing find on a cargo ship in south philadelphia. chopper three over that scene dock workers found a body under cocoa beans on had ship that arrived in philadelphia today. authorities say body was a stowe away from the ivory coast in west africa. >> it smelled real bad when we got down there. you could tell something was dead but we didn't know where it was. after a while we started to

switched schools five times in eight years as his mother searched for the right fit for her son. how would you say your childhood has shaped the way that you see so many of these issues. >> when i look at challenges of the district i can't help reflect, at a middle school when other kids stole and i had to learn how to fight and stopped getting good grades. >> reporter: oliver graduated from the milton hershey school children for lower income families that is located in hershey. but he a says children should not to have leave the district to get the the education that they need. >> we have to inn rest in schools, right curriculum, arts music activities, all of the things that make for well rounded kid and therefore well round add adults. >> reporter: his childhood shaped his view on the tensions between communities and police. he remembered being stopped and frisked as a kid. >> i recognize that my life, my world view about the relationships between neighborhoods and police officers it is a flawed relationship. the at the same time, i was
