clearly, it was reckless, in terms of the driving by the engineer, there is no way in the world that he should have been going that fast, into the curve. >> all eyes are on the engineer, this morning. we now know he was going more than 100 miles an hour when the speed limit was just 50. >> so what went wrong? investigators are still combing the wreckage for clue this is morning. the "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us now back out at that scene with the very latest information for us jan. >> reporter: erika and ukee, lot of work remains here on the scene starting to day investigators we are told will remain here throughout the week as some new equipment was

brought in a few minutes ago. also happening very soon investigators want start talking to the train's crew as well as passenger. take a look at a video taken by ntsb on the scene at the crash site. this is a very, very developing investigation right now. what we know at this point is just how fast this train was traveling before the accident. it was actually speeding down these tracks at more than twice the limit. ntsb says train was traveling at 106 miles an hour coming in a sharp curve in the track. the the train's engineer did apply thee mergecy brake but just moments before, not enough time to slow down this train. limit there is just 70 miles an hour. train's black box and front mounted camera have been recovered and they but the big questions remain, what was this engineer doing and why was he going so fast. >> we plan to interest right the train crew and other personnel. we would like to interview the passengers of the train.

we will be conducting a site distance test. we will be testing the signal system, the the train control signals. we will be testing the breaking system, and the details analysis instead of the cursory analysis that i mentioned earlier off the recorders. we will be doing a very detailed down load and analysis of those recorders. our mission is to find out what happened and why it happened so we can prevent it from happening again. that is really what we're here for. >> a lot remains unclear about the background of this engineer, the the ntsb wants to talk and they want to give him a couple days to recover. this deadly accident has killed at least seven people and injured more than 200. we will remain at the scene and bring you update but for now we are live jan carabao

for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". amtrak service is still expected this morning from this crash. >> it could be for a while. vittoria has what you need to know if you planning on taking the train today, vittoria. >> thanks very much, ukee and erika. good morning. amtrak services are still suspended between philadelphia and new york. lets take a look at our mass transit checklist and we will run down the whole list here, if you are traveling in trenton line you cannot, it has been suspended ac rail line will be shuttle busing between pen august even and 30th street station. the west trenton added additional trains due continue on creased volume. market frankford line is making all stops as a result of the increased role. new jersey transit is cross honoring. if you are traveling in and around frank for junction, keep in mind frankford and castor are being direct by police. wheatsheaf lane is still closed between frankford and aramingo. we will keep you updated when we get more updates as soon as they happen. in the bustleton section grant avenue closed at welsh around alburger.

>> good morning, guys. the despite giving that initial statement to police and volunteering a blood sample the three two-year old from new york has not spoken with the ntsb and has instead hired a lawyer. at this point the the only information surfacing about engineer brandon bostian comes via social media. on his linked in page he began his career with amtrak in july 2006 working first as a passenger, conductor and four years later as an engineer. just hours after that crash we now he changed his profile picture to the black square in an attempt to hide his identity. following the crash he was treated at the hospital and then released but his unwillingness to speak struck a cord with mayor michael nutter. the chairman of the ntsb said they will not pass judgment before they have the the facts. >> this person has gone through a very traumatic event and we want to give him an opportunity to heel for a day or so before we interview him but that is certainly a high

buildings to honor victims of the deadly train derailment. they will remain lowered until sundown on sunday may 17th. we are learning more about the people who were on that train. >> our team coverage continues new with "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch over the at temple university hospital where many of those injured they are still being treated justin. >> reporter: erika and ukee, good morning. there are still dozens here at temple university hospital. eight we are told are in critical condition. we're also told the hospital, called in additional staff just to handle the sheer volume of injuries here. we're talking about injuries that ranged from bum tops bruises to burns. and that as they recover we are learning more about those who lost their lives. of the seven dead, five have been identified. justin zemser a 20 year-old naval academy mid shape man from new york city. his mother susan spoke about her loss. >> he was absolutely wonderful. everybody looked up to my son. there is in other word i could say. >> reporter: also, a abid

gillani a senior wells fargo executive, rachel jacobs, ceo after a education tech company based here in philadelphia. the the 39 year-old's family release aid statement saying thinks an unthinkable tragedy. rachel was a wonderful mother, daughter, is ter and friend. jim gaines a 48 year-old software architect of the associated press of new jersey and a father of two. derek griffith age 42 and dean of a college in brooklyn, new york. temple cared for more than 50 amtrak victims, 22 patients remain in treatment, eight in critical condition. of the 243 people aboarded amtrak 188 some 200 were said to be injured. injuries ranging from bumps and bruce toes broke he bones and burns. thirty were taking to hahnemann hospital. shaw is one of them. he suffered injuries to his vertebrae, back and ribs. he says when cars overturned and lights went out trauma set in. >> it took a few minutes for

during a hit and run are recovering at home this morning. the officers were released from the hospital, yesterday and, the suspect rodolph keitt junior is still in the hospital. authorities say that he hit three officers with his koran tuesday and then took off before hitting a fourth. eyewitnesses say keitt was on medication after a heart surgery and that may have caused him to hit the officer. well, happening today a federal jury considers the sentence for convicted boston marathon bomber, will he be put to debtor spent life in prison. twenty-one year-old dzhokhar tsarnaev was quick in the boston marathon bombing in april 2013 that killed three people and injured more than 260. defense claims tsarnaev's older brother led him down a path of terrorism. it must be a unanimous decision to impose the the death penalty. well nearly ten years after natalie holloway vanished in aruba a new witness has come forward with new clues. >> hall away was 18 when she disappeared during a
