this morning still the big story. engineer at the controls of the amtrak train that derailed in philadelphia has agreed talk to investigators. >> around 1:00 this morning, a tractor tractor-trailer removed the last trail car. the cars from tuesday derailment are now adam track's mechanical services department, in bear, delaware where they're undergoing examination as part of the investigation. the national transportation safety board says the train sped up from 70 miles an hour, to 100 miles an hour, just before it left the tracks. also we're learning about a safety warning. the engineer, reportedly issued. amtrak continues to suspend service between philadelphia and new york at least through monday. but new jersey transit resumes service from 30th street station to cherry hill. we have team coverage of the latest on the amtrak tragedy. we start with "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo at the scene in port richmond where attention continues to focus on the engineer. jan? >> reporter: ukee, now hearing

from a friend of that engineer, who says that it is just impossible that foul play is involved here. he is convinced that this engineer is not to blame. that he is a very cautious person. more from him in just a few minute, but first we want to go over the development on scene here. the train cars are now all gone. and the ntsb has turned over this area, to amtrak, and investigators piece by piece are putting a bigger picture together here, to figure out exactly what happened and why. this crash has now claimed eight lives the last victim pulled from the rubble yesterday. and now officials say all 243 people who were on board at the time of the crash have been accounted for. dozen, though, still remain at the hospital. here at the crash site, the national transportation self at this board now says the train was accelerating in the final minute before derailment. investigators say the train sped up, from 70 miles per hour, until it reached more than 100 miles per hour, at that sharp curve. the max speed of course is 50. investigators say, it is unclear, though, if the speed was increased manually by the engineer, at this point

they've not found any problems with the track signals or thomotive. meantime again we are learning more about that engineer, brandon bostian his attorney says he has no recommendation of the crash, he had not been using his cell phone drinking or using drugs. a friend again who has spoken with him since the crash also has come to his defense. take a listen. >> he couldn't talk to me much because he was in the e.r. and he really didn't remember or noah whole lot at that time. i don't think there is any foul play or any thing like. that he was never one to do drugs. there has got to be something else going on that nobody knows about yet. >> and ntsb officials now tell us that bostian has agreed ain't view and they hope to speak with him in the next few days. reporting live in port richmond, jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank youment also learning more this morning about the victims killed tuesday night including the loved ones they left behind.

our team coverage of the amtrak tragedy continues now with "eyewitness news" reporter justin fin: he's outside of temple university hospital where some of those who were injured are still being treated this morning. justin? >> reporter: erika, at last check, at least ten patients, rather, 11 patient here at temple hospital. six of them are critical. some have their families by their side. other families are now beginning to mourn. >> the families every all eight dead in the amtrak derailment have been notified. the latest identified are bob guild errsleeve, food safety company executive from maryland. his son mark posted video on line with his to find him. >> my name is mark guildersleeve, please help me find my day. >> guess ellie worked in the wine industry from italy in the u.s. on business, 47 year old laura fenimore was headed home to new york city, her family says her last text to them she was boarding the train. >> i believe strongly that all of the remaining folks will get better and go home. >> doctors at temple hospital

50's from what i understand, there was a fire that broke out, two guys in a fight a fire broke out. bb rang out, went back and got his guitar. found out that the two guys were fighting over a girl named lucielle, so he named his guitar lucielle to remind him never to do that again. >> the guitar got its nickname. >> every guitar hats been named lucielle. >> how about that? great story. >> ukee, awesome. >> great musician. >> new this morning, a family escapes house fire in voorhees, new jersey, six fire companies showed up to fight that fire on hidden acre drive around 11:00. firefighters say they have some difficulty reaching the fire. no one was injured. the cuase is under investigation. >> also, new this morning, a fire rips through a single home in westville, new jersey. that fire broke out shortly before 1:00 a.m. in the 300 block of summit avenue. firefighters place that fire under control quickly. one person was taken to the hospital. there is no word on their condition at this time.

hang today, sentencing day for christine. she was convicted every kidnapping and molest ago five year old girl in 2013. she claimed to be that girl's mother when she abducted her from a west philadelphia elementary school. that child was found wearing only a t-shirt the next morning, at up a err darby playground. prosecutors are seeking a life sentence. >> six former members of the philadelphia police department are acquitted of federal corruption charges. cheers errupted outside the federal courthouse after the six ex narcotics officers were

rather to tuesday's happening. if you are traveling mass transit, amtrak again is still suspended. between philadelphia and new york. how much, they are running modified schedules between philadelphia and harburg also between philadelphia and dc, and new york and boston. so that's been in place for quite some time. and could potentially be ongoing until about monday or tuesday at the beginning of next week. how much, the improvement has been the ac rail line no longer shuttle bus inbetween pennsauken and 30th street now put back no place, good to go there. also for the new jersey river line as well as new jersey transit bus service, however, we are still dealing with the suspension of the trenton line. so still going to need to do some extra planning, however we seeing improvement. ninety-five and the rest of the majors moving well, and no delays at the airport. erika? >> thanks so much. hey, leave the car in the garage this morning, and hop on two wheels to get to work. >> today is the 20th annual bike to work day. don't be surprised if you see a lot of bicyclists on the

there's over two hundred thousand students in philadelphia. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i think they're both wrong...it's making sure they all get a good education. teachers should have their contracts respected. they also should be held accountable. and it's wrong philadelphia gets less school funding than other parts of pennsylvania. i'll work with harrisburg to change that. but if they refuse i'll take them to federal court. as mayor i'll do what's right for them.
