a rock or shot at. the septa engineer said he had a broken windshield and he placed his train into emergency stop. she also believed that she heard the engineer say something about she believed that she heard her engineer say something about his train being struck by something. >> reporter: now significantly the engineer did not show or report any injuries, if, in fact the window of the train was truck by an object. that is still not clear. meanwhile, video from surveillance cameras along the track, exclusively obtained by cbs-3, shows the suddenness and violence of the wreck that left eight people dead.

it flies off the rails. and video, obtained exclusively by cbs-3 "eyewitness news" shows the train when ntsb now says was traveling 106 miles an hour, more than twice the 50-mile an hour speed limit turning into piles of crumbled up steel as snapped electric willal wiresbriefly illuminate the scene. a board the train during the sudden violent derailment, 243 passengers, many trapped and injured, eight did not survive. >> at the crash site on friday morning, crews were busy, relaying tracks, hoping to reopen the busy stretch of northeast corridor rail by early next week. they also removed the final train car from the scene, to be analyzed for any information it might be able to provide. searching for the cause of the crash, hoping to learn why this train was going so fast, ntsb investigators spent the day, conducting interviews, and analyzing potential

evidence. now the engineer when he was interviewed was accompanied by his attorney, the ntsb investigators say engineer was a extremely helpful and cooperative and volunteered in the future to provide whatever additional information he might be able to, to help them, get answers. but, as of right now that engineer again in his interview right here today saying he remembered nothing of the moment before the the crash. live at the society hill sheraton i'm walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> very interesting there walt, thanks very much. one of the passengers kill in the derailment is laid to rest today justin zemser was a 20 year-old mid ship man at u.s. naval academy. his funeral took place in new york. his mother wiping away tears as she walked past a line of sailors. high school friend of the zemser's attend today's services. >> he was loving, caring. he put everyone before himself. he was not selfish at all.

>> more than 150 mid ship man turned out for that funeral. is there no doubt that local first responders leaped into action when first calls went out. they risk their lives to save as many victims as possible. today "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers caught up with some heroes of this traj difficult. >> reporter: first 911 call came in at 9:27 p.m. the scene that greeted first responders who arrived minutes later, was devastating. >> it is you are walking by and people screaming yelling asking for help. you cannot help everybody. you go to the first person thaw are closest to. >> reporter: officer timothy coleman out of the 24th district was one of the first officers on the scene. he join hundreds of cops and fire fighters going car to car, doing what they could. >> i would imagine there has been, you saw you will never forget. >> no, never for get. i mean that train it looked like it was car two and three

looked blown apart. >> reporter: they went apart their work in the middle of chaos these men and women tried to bring about some order, they will tell you it is just their job. >> we turned lights and sirens off and we go. >> reporter: you don't think about the dangers, you just grab and go. >> yes. >> reporter: passengers we spoke to the night of the crash described first responders combing through twisted wreckage and stepping over down power lines to offer aid once fire fighters said the same. >> there were so many police officers in a regular clothing no protective gear and they were just diving in and they were at risk. >> reporter: several officers, and several fire fighters, did sustained minor injuries while helping out those passengers on the train. we're in port richmond, matt rivers cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, nine passengers from that train do remain at temple hospital tonight. pennsylvania pennsylvania senator bob casey toured the emergency room there today. >> it is constructive f to better understand the challenge here

the bridge as a train was passing by. this is a young couple police want to you pay close attention to, they are seen walking away from the bridge after the incident, and they don't appear to be holding anything. police find the eyewitness credible. >> she sees a female cradling a baby in a white blanket and she said baby's light brown complex and has fuzzy hair. >> reporter: it happened just before 11:00 this morning and police have searched up and down railroad tracks in both directions. so far no signs of the baby. two trains were stopped and searched, they were the only two trains that had passed under bridge at 68th street and kingsessing avenue during that time frame. conductor's report seeing a young couple on the bridge. >> we're hoping that this isn't what she saw but at this point we believe that she saw what she saw and we think we have a child that is currently not accounted for at this point.

>> reporter: police right now are hoping that young couple steps forward to help clarify the situation and they are asking anyone who might have recognized that young couple in that surveillance video to contact them immediately. again, right now no baby has been found. reporting live tonight from southwest philadelphia, todd quinones cbs-3 "eyewitness news". let's hope none will, thanks very much. dzhokhar tsarnaev is sentenced to death for 2013 boston marathon bombing. >> jury reached its decision after american 14 hour of deliberations. a tsarnaev was convicted last month of all 30 federal charges against him in the bombings that killed three people, and injured more than 260. defense lawyers argued dzhokhar fell under the influence of his older brother while prosecutors think he was an equal partner in that attack. tsarnaev's lawyers plan to appeal the death sentence. aids scare in camden county. server at this voorhees restaurant tested positive for the disease. chopper three over iron hill brewery and restaurant at voorhees town center, health officials say that the server was diagnosed on may 11th, and has in the the been back to work ever since. he did in the work while feeling ill either. officials say the restaurant is cooperating with the investigation. a mysterious odor at a mercer county postal service facility sparks a hazmat scare. this happened at u.s. ps carrier annex on route 130 in hamilton township. employees reported a strong sweet smell and then started feeling sick. workers weree rack waited, hazmat went in checking building and mail trucks but they could not fine anything suspicious. >> all biologicals had been ruled out at this point and we have not seen any evidence of any spills powder, liquid, or anything like that.

>> carrier annex is a mail processing and distribution warehouse, it is not the accessible by general public like a post office would be. postallal service officials say there is in danger opening mail from this facility. authorities in berks county say they have broken up an extensive crime ring. >> they called it operation, gucci and it followed a grand jury investigation the d.a. says that 28 out of 38 members of the organization were rounded up this morning. they were accused of crimes ranging from robbery to credit card and check fraud. >> the individual already incarcerate who had were arre part of this ongoing criminal investigation by the berks county investigative grand jury authorities say that ten additional suspects remained at large tonight they were being actively sought or they made arrangements to surrender. still to come here new jersey governor chris christie, goes off. >> they are giving ate way. they are giving ate way

i'm lynne abraham. when i became philadelphia's da, child victims had to face a judge ...a jury...the public... and testify eye to eye with their attackers. it wasn't right. so i got a constitutional amendment passed allowing children to testify remotely. i'm running for mayor for the same reason -- our children should come first. jim kenney and tony williams are fighting over public schools versus charters. i disagree. we have to improve education for all of our children.

welcome back a driver crashed a car in the northeast philadelphia home but fortunately no one was there at the time. chopper three was over that scene at loney and eastwood street. officials say no one was injured when a woman drove that suv through a wall. there is in word on why that crash occurred. the philadelphia democratic mayoral primary is now just four days away and recently i sat down with anthony hardy williams who says after years of work in harrisburg he is ready to lead the city of philadelphia.

in the final weeks of the mayoral democratic primary race anthony hardy williams grabbed the headlines with one comment. >> the the person who unfortunately is person who uses stop and frisk the most current commissioner would be change. we have to change the commissioner in philadelphia. >> reporter: those word elicited strong reaction from the current mayor. >> one of the smartest things that i have done was to ask charles ramsey to come be the police commissioner of the city of philadelphia a. anyone who is not smart enough to at least ask him to stay, is probably not smart enough, to run this city. >> reporter: at a press conference following that comment from mayor nutter williams said wow not engage in what he calls name calling. instead, he said this was about ending stop and frisk. >> i do respect commissioner ramsey. i think he is a good person. i think he was charged to implement a policy that now people have a negative perspective of that.

>> reporter: when i sat down with him before all this he told me about other changes he wanted to make to the philadelphia police department. >> we negotiate with the fop for the next time there should be a character clause that say no hate speech allowed. that means we discovered home owe phone i can, or racist, it comes out of your mouth and we find out about it, ire what the circumstances are, you should get fired. >> reporter: williams began in business but inspired by his father honorable hardy williams, he soon entered public service first as a state representative and then a state senator. >> i understand policy from my legislative experience but i realize that, we will be dependent in terms of harrisburg specifically around the public schools. other resources for the the city of philadelphia. >> reporter: he wants to see neighborhood school thrive. >> it requires change in the building and change how it operate. >> reporter: duality of philadelphia, full of the have's and have have not's that williams says pushes him to make those changes. >> it drives you in ways to find answers thaw would not

>> yes. >> month of man is busy. we are talking with temperatures feeling more like summer in the 80's, some heat humidity and some rain. take a look outside where it is dry even down the shore atlantic city looking good. a few fair weather cloud out there and temperatures in the 60's. take a look at the numbers right now philadelphia 74. sixty-four at ac airport. wildwood 64. zero seven in wilmington. allentown 73. ocean water temperature 57, slowly inching upward, and you can see on shore flow keeping cool down the shore with temperatures in the 60's. we will see a sea breeze over the course of the weekend but pretty nice temperatures on start the day. here's our first forecast, during the day tomorrow we will see temperatures warming up in the 60's and 70's. the by 11:00 a.m. tomorrow it will be already 78. by afternoon temperatures well in the 80's with a mix of sun and cloud and a few showers especially to the north and west of the city as he will be closer to the cold

front. by sunday it pushes through steamy and sticky conditions with lingering showers and a few thunderstorms. high pressure tries to build in but we will get on shore flow monday keeping cloud around. a threat of the shower and cooler temperatures backing down in the 70's. the here's how it will be playing out tonight. any evening plans no issues, perhaps a sprinkle here and there but by morning hours or tomorrow sunshine a few cloud, north and west and a rain free morning for the the most part. by the afternoon we will see some showers bubbling up to the north and west of philadelphia, not a lot after 3:00 o'clock during that heating of the day we will see more numerous showers and you can see even into the nighttime hours finally making the over on the jersey side and pushing on through. sunday morning we will start off with more clouds then sun a few showers and then here we go through the afternoon. not a lot of rain but keep your eye to the sky. we will look at all of our computer models, gfs european nam r p.m., through sunday evening there is a wide range of precipitation and it

just depend on if you get under one of those heavier cells you can get an inch, but most of us about quarter inch to a half inch and some spots the may not see anything. offer night tonight, mostly cloudy, stray shower possible, low of 57. during the day tomorrow high of 84 degrees, more humid best chance of the showers north and west of the city and nighttime hours on the new jersey side. hour by hour by 1:00 a.m. 71, not so bad. by 3:00 p.m. 84. 6:00 p.m. 82. in the evening perhaps a few the scattered showers and temperatures 77. so quite warm. down the shore before the sea breeze kicks in, 83, on saturday, and you can see some storms possible late sunday, high temperature is 83 as well. by afternoon we could be in the lower 70's. on the exclusive seven day forecast sunday will be 84. cloud, maybe a shower on monday and showers and storms tuesday and then we will dry it out nicely wednesday 72, thursday 74, and friday, 75

the new comer miguel franco. mitt romney is tossing his hat back in the ring, not political ring but boxing ring. he will fight former heavyweight champion evander holyfield tonight in utah to raise money for charity vision. an organization based in utah that helps provide medical equipment, and vision screening and surgeries for individual, in developing countries. >> he is a good sport to do that. >> that is very good. >> evander can have a flash back at any moment, and he does have a piece of his ear missing. >> let's just hope this goes well for everybody involved. >> beasley, thanks. >> w
