♪ breaking news right now. traffic is at a standstill on i-295 and route 73 after a deadly truck fire in mt. laurel. "eyewitness news" has now learned one person was killed in the crash. it happened on i-295 under the route 73 overpass and drivers are currently being detoured around this accident scene. of course, stay with "eyewitness news" for the very latest. also tonight amtrak service between philadelphia and new york city will be running in time for the morning commute. it comes less than one week

after the deadly train derailment in port richmond. good evening everyone. i'm natasha brown. thank you so much for joining us. here's the very latest on the aftermath of the amtrak derailment. in addition to amtrak's full service resuming, septa's trenton regional line will be partially restored. but trains will not stop in north philadelphia, bridesburg or tacony tomorrow and delays are expected. also amtrak crews spent the weekend installing speed controls on the section of track where train 188 derailed. and today awake was held for one of the eight people who died in this crash. bob gildersleeve his body was the last to be pulled from the wreckage. white news reporter matt rivers joins us live from outside of 30th street station with the latest. matt? >> reporter: natasha for the first time in nearly a week amtrak train will leave here from 30th street station bound for new york. that train set to leave tomorrow morning shortly before 6:00 a.m. eight people died as a result of this week's derailment and today those people were the focus of a small service near the crash

site. (bell tolls). >> reporter: eight tolls of a bell. eight doves released, one for each person who died in a crash that injured hundreds more. >> last tuesday was the worst day -- >> few dozen people gathered near the scene of the crash sundter called the service of reflection local politicians joined pennsylvania governor tom wolf in u.s. transportation secretary anthony fox who had a message for family members left behind by those who died. >> we will mon honor them by making sure this never happens again. >> reporter: first step in the process happened over the last few days had this second of the northeast corridor opens again monday morning it will be equipped with positive train control which will automatically stop a train going above safe speeds. amtrak officials said that would have likely prevented tuesday's crash. >> we did it right away when we say we're committed to safety we're committed to safety.

>> reporter: positive train control is scheduled to be installed along the rest of the northeast corridor bite end of this year. the investigation into caused the crash continues. as authorities worked to determine why the train was going 106 miles an hour into a curve with a 50 miles an hour speed limit. back at the service those questions were put off for another day. ♪ >> reporter: in a somber reflection of lives lost on a warm spring night. ♪ >> reporter: the investigation into what caused this crash will likely take a significant amount of time. most of the ntsb officials that were here in town left philadelphia over the weekend but we do expect them to reinterview the train's engineer sometime soon. we are live outside of 30th street station matt rivers cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> matt, thank you so much. also an ntsb official and u.s. senator from pennsylvania appeared on face the nation this

morning. to address reports that something hit the windshield of amtrak train 188 and he dispelled rumors about a bullet. >> it looks like something about the size of a grapefruit, full and it did not even penn straight the entire windshield. >> senator bob casey appeared on the show and said congress should support amtrak and not cut funding. >> congress should not put amtrak in the position of choosing between positive train control safety and fixing crumbling bridges. we have to do both and we've got to make sure theft resourcesed to that. >> of course stay with "eyewitness news" for the very latest on the amtrak tragedy. coming up in our neck half hour, we will hear from the widow of one of the victims of the deadly derailment. gunfire does erupt in a texas restaurant leaving nine rival gang members dead and 18 injured. police say it happened this afternoon in waco. five gangs met up to focus on turf and recruitment when

something went wrong. police did know about the meeting in advance and they were outside of the restaurant when the shooting took place. police did shoot some bikers but there's no word fay deaths were the result of police gunfire. officials do not think any bystanders were injured. also a marine has died after a helicopter made a hard landing today in hawaii. a military spokesman says it happened during a training exercise. 22 people were hahn board. they were all hospitalized for treatment. it's not yet clear what caused the helicopter to crash. investigators are trying to figure out what spark this huge fire that destroyed a montgomery county warehouse earlier this morning. flames broke out at about 3:30 at the american flooring and centex blinds building in plymouth township. firefighters had their hands full running hundreds of feet of hoses to nearby hydrants and also dealing with accelerants. >> we believe we have a variety of chemicals that were used -- that's used in the flooring business that were involved in this fire.

had powell pell collapses of walls, structural walls inside and outside the building including the roof. >> the fire was just a few hundred feet away from nearby homes. but the flames were contained to the businesses. no one was injured. police have released name of the man who died when he crashed his truck into a montgomery county high school. witnesses say 32-year-old philip pay andre pinto silva accelerated into the wall early yesterday afternoon in lower mooreland. no one else was injured. today crews spent the day patching up the building and the school will be open tomorrow. turning now to our weather the humidity sticks around fort start of the wok week but will we stay dry? that's a question. let's check in with meteorologist justin drabick live on the cbs3 sky deck tonight with the first forecast. hey, justin. >> hey, natasha. pretty nice outside right now six floors up on the sky deck have a nice little breeze but yes, still feels very muggy. fels like the middle of summer outside. the good news, we're quiet on storm scan3. so it look like we'll get

through the next several hours through the overnight with dry conditions. a few clouds. you can see all the spotty showers we had around earlier kind of dissipateed typical for this type of pattern each afternoon we'll see a flare up isolated showers or thunderstorm thunderstorm. pretty good overnight. here are the temperatures. we're in the low and my 70s still in the warm spots. 75 in philadelphia. even 62 in the mountains at mount pocono that's not too cool for this time of year. 68 in doylestown. 72 in palmyra, new jersey. there are the dew point temperatures. that tells us it's very muggy outside. once you're into the 60s to around 70, that air mass almost has an oppressive feel it to here's what happens tomorrow. we'll wake up into the 70s by 9:00 o'clock. should be dry but once we hit noon noon through 6:00 that's our best chance for isolated shower or thunderstorm and that temperature top off near 80 degrees. there is a bit of a cool down though in the seven day forecast we'll show that you comeing up in few more minutes. natasha. >> thanks justin. see you soon. president obama is comeing to

camden tomorrow on his itinerary visit to the newly stabbed police department and also a tour of the community. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson previews his visit. >> camden is my home. >> reporter: she was born here she was raised here, and about a year and a half ago will he sean today carter started her first business in camden. >> here will be the kitchen. >> reporter: carter started a personal care service for area veterans. she gave us a tour of what she says will be the first home for vets in camden. >> and i thought why not make this a business? and help people that needs help. >> reporter: carter is an example of what city officials hope is highlighted in the next few days much entrepreneural spirit and positive change. >> i think within the neck 10 years the redevelopment of the city will be a national model an national story of progress. >> reporter: monday president barack obama will visit camden. he's expected to tour the newly stabbed camden county police department formed during the height of the city's infamy for being unsafe but things have

16-year-old girl is recovering tonight after she was gored by a bison at yellowstone national park. police say the girl was posing for a picture near the bison on friday afternoon when it attacked her. the teenager is an exchange student from taiwan. national park service says her injuries are serious but they are not live threatening. also now a scare today for visitors at the 9/11 memorial in

lower manhattan. people standing near the southern reflecting pool began choking and coughing. forcing an vac weighing. it turns out that algae had grown in the pool causing an odor that made it difficult to breathe. officials say the pool will be drained and the water filtered overnight and they expect to open as usual tomorrow. she was heading south last check but now mary lee the shark is making movements back north. we just can't keep up with her. her last sighting was about 7:30 tonight south of ocean city maryland. but well off the coast. we don know where she will turn up next. but we do know that twitter is certainly watching. the fake sitter twitter handle at mary lee shark has drawn more 50,000 followers. that handle by the way is not affiliated with o search the company tracking her every move. it's almost the end of an era. david letterman will host his final late show from the ed sullivan theater on wednesday. but before he does, we're continuing to take look back on

wait a few more days. wednesday and thursday it's actually looking real nice by the end of the week as we head into the holiday weekend much outside right now pretty quiet. not much happening just a few clouds rolling on through. live look at the ben franklin bridge right now. hazy conditions. it's humid. it's muggy. temperatures still well into the 70s but at least we are dry. i mentioned that change coming later this week as far as the temperatures go, so kind of a split week. something for everybody in this forecast. average high temperature 74. that's where we shall be for this time of year. forget that, for monday and tuesday, well above that. we'll be back around 80 degrees on monday. and then well into the 80s for tuesday. but then by wednesday and thursday we start to drop the temperatures again actually go below average for thursday afternoon then as we head into memorial day weekend we warm it up pretty much where we should be for this time of year. pretty mild for this time of night. 72 in trenton. 71 in allentown. as well as the capital city of delaware. all through the northeast new england and into the mid

atlantic we are warm and humid this hour. buffalo 68. cleveland at 74 this hour. you can look at storm scan3. patchy clouds across the mid atlantic and northeast. some pop up showers now diminishing as we lost the heat from the day but again we're just stuck in this warm humid air mass. more showers should pop up once again tomorrow afternoon. so kind of a typical summer like day. again, there could be a stronger thunderstorm as well in some spots. what about the humidity? when will it go away? not any time soon. monday and tuesday still feeling very steamy out. now wednesday and thursday, that's the day lesley is look looking forward to because she keeps hammering me with this. when is the humidity gone. it's a girl hair thing. tomorrow, we'll be in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. tuesday another chance for more showers and storms as this next cold front approaches. still humid but once that front passes by later on tuesday you'll feel the difference.

northwest wind comes out of canada dries us out pushes out the humidity. we're back into the mid 70s. so tomorrow morning waking up just some clouds. mainly dry conditions. into the afternoon there's spotty showers maybe a thunderstorm. not everybody sees it but have the umbrella around just in case case. start to quiet down during the evening hours and then once again tuesday afternoon there's the actual front that comes through. mid afternoon. we can see some more scattered showers and perhaps thunderstorm thunderstorm. so with the temperatures kind of the same deal as today waking up 60s to around 70. into the afternoon we get to near 80 but i think it's areas west of the city are going to be warmest because we'll get more of an easterly wind. so eastern new jersey you'll be cooler. into the low and mid 70s but the farther west you go, that's where we'll have our warmest temperatures but wind switch out south again for tuesday. so it looks like everybody will be back into the 80s on tuesday afternoon. so again overnight partly cloudy mild, slight chance for showers. 67 for center city. little bit cooler in the suburbs suburbs. shower storm chance monday afternoon partly sunny skies 79
