over chester county at this hour. and will likely be tracking little bit more green on the radar as the day goes on, we'll discuss the reason why and also, what that is going do to our pattern since we're coming up on the unofficial beginning of summer awfully soon. >> as we mention service set to resume on amtrak northeast corridor today following last week's deadly derailment. >> spent all weekend installing speed controls on the tracks at the site of the crash. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now at 30th street station with more on this, jan good morning. >> reporter: erika, ukee good morning, starting just before 6:00 this morning normal amtrak service will resume between philadelphia and new york here at the 30th street station for the first time since that deadly crash last week. that killed eight and injured more than 200. you can see that information reflected on the board this morning, after 6:00 all trains running on time. and when those trains pull out, they will now be using

track in port richmond installed with positive train control. crews worked around the clock this weekend to finish that installation of corpse, that's the technology that will automatically slow a train to safe speed in case of human error. meanwhile the ntsb into the caution of the train crash continues. looking into the possibility that amtrak 188 was hit by an object before the crash. ntsb board member, robert, addressed those reports on sunday's cbs "face the nation". >> is it possible somebody shot at that train? >> bob, we will certainly be looking at that that. as you pointed out we will have the fbi providing their technical assistance, what sort of fracture pattern may be on that windshield. >> is there anyway that that could have been connected to the crash in some way? >> and you know that's a great point t could be completely coincidental or it could be causal. that's he can actually what we could intends to find out. >> it could be somebody fired

a shot at the train? >> i would like to down play that. i have seen the fracture pattern it, looks like something about the size after grapefruit if you will, and it did not even penetrate the entire windshield. >> in the meantime, the ntsb has also interviewed this train's engineer at this point, they did so on friday, for the first time, they say he is very cooperative but still does not remember anything before the crash. they plan on interviewing him again in the next few days. we'll stay on top of this story. for now live at 30th street station, jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank youment meanwhile funeral services will be head for one of the victims killed in last week's crash. rachael jacobs, 39 years olds, ceo of to, leaves behind husband, and a two year olson. also, mourn he is gathered yesterday to remember bob guildersleeve, his body was the last to be pulled from the

location, so here you have it, it is not much, you have to rub the eyes, squint to see it, but there it is, one loan pocket of powers basically over chester county, moving into new castle county, you can see there is bill more activity. moisture again in our atmosphere and that has allowed nice calm winds. areas of fog to form, it is not terrible, but in a like lancaster below mile right now, i can tell you within the last 20 minute, looking at some of the visibility they've been ever changing, so patchy fog is a bit of a concern. just for this morning primarily, as the day progresses we'll heat right back up to the low 80s we think for early afternoon down the shore you will start off relatively mild, on shore flow develops, temperatures probably drop through the afternoon, that said, we will likely have to deal with shower or thunderstorm mainly later on today again since we've got that instability to work w so very summer like out there. you know, you have got that going for you today and tomorrow. but by the mid week, behind new cold front temperatures are set to drop off again and the holiday weekend, at this

point, is looking pretty good. we'll have more on the seven day forecast a bit later in the showment back to you. >> north and southbound lanes mt. laurel have reopened hours after deadly truck fire. this eyewitness cell video shows the fatal fire as it consumes at least one vehicle the fire broke out sunday night under the route 73 overpass mt. laure one person was killed, it is believed the crash ignite that fire. traffic was snarls? both directions for hour. >> cause after fire that injured one in north philly, 3500 block of jasper street, in the harrow gate neighborhood. one person has been taken to the hospital at the moment there is no word on that person's condition. happening today, a status conference scheduled as senator robert menendez prepares to go to trial. sources tell "eyewitness news" the new jersey democrat will not be in newark federal court. he is charged with excepting gift and donations totalling about a million dollars from a

florida ophthalmologist in exchange for political favors. menendez denies any wrong-doing. >> nine bike remembers killed and 18 injured after a shoot-out among rival motorcycle gangs at busy rec taunt in wako texas, violence errupted noon monday shopping center tensions between the two gangs had been growing in recent weeksment one officers calling it the most gruesome crime scene he's encountered in 34 years of law enforcement. police believe an argument over a parking spot may have sparked the shooting. >> started in the bathroom with most likely a push or shove or somebody looking at somebody wrong. >> now, police say no civilians were injured in the violence, they say that's because police officers, and tactical teams, were on stand by, and were able to react quickly. >> and an investigation underway into this deadly military aircraft cash in hawaii. military spokes men says one marine was killed when the osprey made a hard landing during a training exercise in

yesterday. twenty-one other on board were injured. >> this morning, investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire that destroyed a montgomery county warehouse. flames broke out yesterday morning at the american flooring anacine text blind building on call owe lane in plymouth township. it forced firefighters run hundreds of feet of hoses to nearby hydrants. that fire was just a few hundred feet away from nearby homes. but, the flames were contained to the businesses. luckily, no one was hurt. >> and, lower moreland high school montgomery county is open today after weekend crash sent a pick-up truck through the side of the school. eyewitnesses said that 32 year old philippe andrew accelerated through the parking lot and then slammed head-on into the side of that building. he was killed in that crash. yesterday crews spent the day patching up the building. >> still ahead on "eyewitness news" this morning severe weather continues to pound the country's mid section. heavy rain, flooding, seen

will hold medical marijuana round table discussion with lawmakers, week after the state senate passed a bill legalizing prescribed pot. governor wolf has said he supports it. that bill now goes to the pennsylvania house where it face as tougher climb. several republican house leaders say they will oppose it. well, another round of severe weather in the midwest to tell you about. powerful storm in kansas pick up this train and tossed it around. strong downpours dumped nearly a half foot of rain on north texas stranding people inside their homes turning roads into rivers. near wichita, there was very heavy rain and hail. take a look at this windshield here getting smashed as a driver tries to stay on the road and the threat for severe weather is not over yet. the national weather service says more severe storms could develop in minnesota wisconsin, and illinois. they are really getting it out in the mid section of the country. >> powerful couple of weeks.
