west coast art comes to the jersey shore this memorial day weekend in ocean galleries in stone harbor. the the artist is emmy and golden globe winning actress jane seymour who joins news our studio with some of her most spectacular work. jane it is wonderful if to see you. >> thank you it is great to be back. >> you have a fabulous exhibit coming back in stone harbor this weekend call jane seymour, up close and personal, tell me about that. >> i started painting as a child but pretty seriously about three or four years ago when i was going through a transition in my life. this is like a healing for me. i never realized it would take over my life or be that important. i paint for pleasure. i paint because i see life in a certain way. i have seen a lot of life. i have a lot of passions whether it is gardens flowers, oceans or coy fish or mothers and children, or really kind of looking at the
5:43 am
great impression artists ape being impressed by what their techniques were. i love to paint for me. this is an amazing opportunity for people to see a very wide range of subject matter and different texture. >> we have a couple of other paintings we'd like to show. how do you explain one or two of them for us. every piece has a story. >> this one, ballet shoes belong to a very famous russian ballerina and she deflected when in london when she was perform years ago. i was in the ballet at the time. many, many years later this ballet shoelace next to my bed. i was trained to be an a ballerina and not an actress. i have a collection of flowers. i use those in my paintings because when you are painting it takes a long time and it is a rose, it will change shape every hour. >> indeed. so this has a mo'ne feeling. >> yes. >> when it was closed to the
5:44 am
public. i changed behind the bush, into a vintage gown, and i was film there and and i painted, his famous bridge with me on it. >> fabulous. i love that. >> so gallery gets will be able to meet you to see you and have an explanation of the art. >> absolutely. >> tell me about that. >> it is really wonderful because as i said i have such a variation of styles and material. and each one does have a very personal story to it. i really get to connect with the collectors, and what i love too is i would say to people the creation of artist only half of it, it is the at appreciation of art person that sees something and says that is me, i have an emotional response to that piece. >> that speaks to me. >> that is when it becomes art because it is like acting. if you act in the vacuum in one sees it, no one cares. if you act and you have an audience and they receive the emotion you are giving them
5:45 am
that makes it the a piece of art. the collection is as much ons the artist as the air is. >> you have other great creations with your open heart jewelry and so many other wonderful things. >> well that came directly from the paintings originally i was painting hearts. i was doing it for women's heart health and i always left hearts opened. i realized my mother said your hearties open, love will fine its way in. and it is great way to deal with a challenge. another image i have is very important to me is the the ocean. so i have the open art wave, and basically the the idea toys in life you are a body of water, you are on the ocean in some direction of life and then you have a major moment in your life where it is like the crest of the wave but it never stays there. really dealing with change in life. i talk about how ocean lets go, for whatever as the water crashes and comes backup with your heart and mind opened you have a chance to collaborate or engage with someone else or a new way of coping with life or a new career, or a new
5:46 am
experience and it becomes a new wave. so everything i paint really a has meaning behind it. >> so stone harbor, ocean gallery. >> yes. >> jane, thank you. so you can view jane seymour's art and meet her at ocean galleries in stone harbor, the exhibit runs through monday, a all of the details and times are on our web site at cbs philly.com. new back to the a anchor desk. this is a great story a group of senior citizens goes back to school to attend prom, yes, annual event is to honor our seniors and show them some love. haverford middle school hosted the senior citizen prom, over 60 students helped organize the the event. senior citizens enjoyed a good time on the dance floor showing the younger folks their move, and they are busting it out. they enjoyed good food and some fun a great way to kick off the weekend. all young at heart there on the dance floor for sure, carol. >> senior prom i love it. well, we have a beautiful
5:47 am
start to the day nicole. the the poconos looking lovely. this tree has finally got zone leaves on it. we have been following this tree. it is sort of what we look at through the season, sort of. now we find we have lots of leaves on it. it is beautiful outside in kutztown. look at this picture. the sunnies coming up, this almost looks like a cactus out in the middle of the desert but it is a playing field and a farm field in kutztown, in pennsylvania. our wind right new out of the east very light at 2 miles an hour and our temperature 42 degrees. this is much cooler then it should be out here this morning, many areas to the north, poconos are in the 30's. cooler air is up there won't be staying there all day long. you will be happy to know. it is cool to the north. forty-seven in allentown. fifty-three in philadelphia. forty-nine in millville. 55 degrees in wildwood. we will go to the shore areas and you will find these temperatures around the 60's. you'll fine those temperatures in the 60's as we go through the the rest of the afternoon
5:48 am
too. storm scan three nothing going on. only thing on this map is the the names of towns. we don't have any cloud, we don't have any showers and we're not expecting any either. high pressure in charge of the weather. it is keeping things nice and quiet around here. finally decided, you know what, these people deserve a break. i'll give them a good holiday weekend. that is what is happening. temperatures get to go 71, 72 degrees. tomorrow slightly warmer, we should crack that 80-degree mark but not get too much farther in the 80's then 80 degrees tomorrow. by monday they will worry of the middle 80's but does in the stop there we will get close to 90 degrees, tuesday wednesday, thursday and maybe even next friday. so warm air is definitely on its way in here but today, in the so much, and it is dry these are the dew points if you are just opening up one eye and you see this and you think that is outside temperature. it is not. it the is moisture in the air. when it gets in the 60's or 70 ease how humid it is. when you find it in the 20's
5:49 am
and lower 30's it is a very dry air mass which makes the air feel very nice. but if you happen to get in the pool or body of water you will fine yourself getting chilly very quickly as it evaporates. we have future weather. nothing going on. you can keep an eye on the clock but really nothing is going on. we are not even finding any cloud and here. monday do we see a couple. maybe a couple on monday, that should be probably the extent of it, by the time we will get to tuesday maybe a couple more cloud but it is just a big warm up that you will start to notice starting on monday. we have ocean water temperatures, that are around 60 degrees, that is right off of the coast of atlantic city and ocean city, down in maryland 59 degrees. so the the water is not all that warm, it is probably a good thing because not every beach has a life guard, if you are going in the water be careful. seventy-two in philadelphia. sixty-four at the shore. poconos 65 degrees for the the high temperature today and enjoy what we find today uv index around seven, at the the
5:50 am
shore areas. put on that sun screen. 07 degrees will be the high temperature today. fifty for the the low temperature tonight. next couple of days, if we get to that 70 to 72 degrees, today, just absolutely perfect. tomorrow 80. monday 85 degrees, partly sunny. tuesday, right through next friday we're right about 90 degrees. so the heat wave does start to come on, but it looks like a lovely weekend. >> it does, thanks carol. when are headed across town or across the country moving into a new home can be very stressful but there are things you can do to ease that transition. in this week angie's list report, jim donovan looks at what you need know before hiring a moving company. >> reporter: first thing to do before any movies declutter get rid of anything that you don't need that will save you time money once the moving begins. when hiring a company, make sure your agreement details the the duties to be performed and the final cost. >> require an in homees mate

so mover can see what they are going to be moving because let's be honest, we all probably under estimate what is packed in our homes. then ask for a binding estimate if possible that way you are not surprised in the end, and a flat rate estimate is a a great way to go as well. >> reporter: don't forget about insurance. all companies will offer some coverage at no a additional cost but that may in the be enough should something go wrong. >> all a movers need to be insured but that insurance is only at the the rate of 60 cents per pound per item so that will not take you very far. all companies have different policies. our policies is that we will stabbed behind our work and if something does happen we will make sure it is fix or repaired. >> reporter: you want to double-check on who specifically is transporting your stuff. it is not always the the company you've hired. >> be sure you know who is actually doing the moving. in some scenarios you might be talking to a mover who then subcontracts it. you want to know who is actually going to be doing
