>> police say two gunmen stormed into this house. one suspect caring a shotgun. two invaders fled the scene leaving that shotgun and a bag, behind. cruisers with k9 units searched the area for brief time. those two suspect are still at large. also breaking, fire has damaged three vacant row homes in philadelphia strawberry mansion neighborhood. that call came in around 3:45 this morning to a couple every homes at north 29th and diamond streets. one of those homes partially collapsed in the back. we have live picture right now of the same scene you see firefighter at the very top of the ladder there. at least two homes sustained damage on the second and third floor. right now, there is no word on injuries. >> good morning everyone, also in the news, police are looking for a man who got into a south philadelphia home, and sexually assaulted a woman. >> they also want to know if there is a link to a similar

attack two month earlier. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo, joins us now at police headquarters to bring us up to date on the investigation, jan good morning. >> reporter: erika ukee, good morning. one clue could connect two cases. this is very serious and frightening situation that we have here. police say that a man broke into someone's home, in southwest philadelphia, this woman woke up, she saw him standing here, police say he then proceeded to sexually assault and rob her. they are still looking for her, looking for this suspect this morning and they say this could be connected to a similar, another different violent attack. >> it is here, in the 1800 block of rosewood street south philadelphia where 35 year old woman is startled awake at 5:30 monday morning. standing over her police say is a man in his late 20's, early 30's, who puts his hand over the victim's mouth and demands money. but, that's not all. police say the suspect then sexually assaults the woman. and before leaving he takes

the woman's cash, her car and house keys, and roommate's id. police say he also threatens the victim telling her not to go to police. it is a string of events, that has this neighborhood on high alert. >> i'm shocked yes. >> anything like this happen ever around smear. >> no, not that i know of. and i been here like 17 years. >> now, police are is her clinic for the suspect detectives are also trying to determine if this case is connected to a similar incident that happened two month ago in point breeze. police released this sketch after a man broke into a home on the 1700 block of south chadwick street, demanded money and assaulted the resident. he still wanted for attempted rape robbery. police say the suspect in this case, and in south philly case had on red gloves. folks on rosewood street say they're not taking any chances should the suspect be tempted to return. >> this is sad. because this street has never ever had any type of crime violence like that. now my daughter wants to put

in an alarm system. >> reporter: anyone with information should call police. reporting live outside of the rounds house, jan carabeo cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. in texas, four people are now confirmed dead after a four day birrage of severe weather. a mix of heavy rain, flooding tornados descended on the region starting friday. in haze county the belong owe river rose -- blanco river rose 26 feet in just one hour. teams there have ended their search for survivors swept up by flood watt that's also destroyed hundreds of homes. texas governor, gregg abbott, toured the damage and compared it to that of a tsunami. >> can you not candy coat it. this absolutely is massive. >> yesterday police found the body of a 14 year old boy and his dog. they were reported missing sunday night. police say he was found in a storm drain near his home. he apparently had drowned.

it is a southwesterly flow. and that's where so much of this steamy necessary is going to be coming from. so as we look at the satellite and radar composite here, you have got clear sky right now. all is looking prep good here this morning. you are going have sun glare issues certainly if you are traveling eastbound here today. but you can see obviously a lot of activity sort of trailing around, a large dome of high pressure. that is where this has all been coming from. so with high pressure now starting nudge out to sea allowing more of the southerly component, and eventually, allows the front to start to cross our area. meantime, the uv index it is up there. i mean, this is classic summertime heat and humidity for you. at least at eight on the uv index in philadelphia, the next few days. but we are going to start to see bit more activity in this pattern, especially by tomorrow. far north and west suburbs you might see shower, storm toward evening but most every russ dry today. and it is hot. at 90 degrees, mid or upper 80s, generally the story then
