can definitely feel it. it is warm out there. it will continue to be warm out there we saw warm temperatures yesterday. we will get them again today. probably 88 degrees with the humidity, unshine and with front, low pressure system in the area and approaching the the area that makes it unsettled and that is why when you are out and about and may be away, you can keep your phone with you but when you are away from frustrates, to protect you you do have to keep an eye to the skies and just make sure if you see or hear thunder storm that you get inside into cover quickly. not to say we're seeing that right new because we're not. we're finding fine weather looks nice in reading even though a couple of showers try to pass through the area. 73 degrees is temperature in reading. and, it is 73 degrees. few more cloud there. we will get a few more cloud building at this hour of the morning. they are not just low level but they are starting to build a little bit. we have to pay more attention throughout the rest of the

day, beach patrol headquarters in margate beach is quiet at this point we like it quiet, we will be keeping it quiet first thing this morning but it looks like a nice beach day. reminder of a moderate risk of rip current at the shore areas. out in cape may courthouse it looks nice. you can see it is not a as foggy as picture i have been looking at through ocean city where all you can barely see is the boardwalk but still a nice looking start to the day it is rest of the day that we have to contend with, maybe just some showers breaking out. you can see some, they have gone through area and allentown and up around poconos, scranton. you could find one or two others just moving through the a area as we go through the day. the temperatures are already warming um. 74 degrees. if they stopped now everybody with love it. but they won't. we will add maybe 14 degrees to this. seventy-two in trenton. seventy-four in wilmington. in the 60's is only place that is happening is up in the poconos at 67 degrees. as we go through the

day-to-day it is a steady warm up. our high temperature should be around 88 degrees, by 6:00p m we will start a slight cool down but we will pick up just especially this afternoon chances of showers thunderstorms and we will keep that threat going over next couple of days. here is our future weather and i'll put this into motion. this is added feature saying maybe there are a couple of showers that break out through the shore areas and maybe even through wilmington or approaching wilmington throughout this afternoon. other showers along the shore. you get the idea we have some around. when i finish up that time line there are more involved and we will let you know when, where, coming up, nicole. >> of course, we have been following sad news this morning, beau biden oldest son of the vice-president, joe biden, has died from brain cancer. former delaware attorney general and iraq war veteran was diagnosed two years back. cherrie greg from our sister station kyw news radio 1060 is

live in wilmington delaware outside the biden family church. just such a sad day for our entire country and this community, cherrie good morning. >> reporter: good morning, nicole. it is a extremely sad day, 46 year-old beau biden is said to have been devout thely catholic and of course, this was his home church here called st. joseph on the brandywine on old church road here in wilmington. i have been told that beau biden a and his wife, haley attended services here on a regular basis. i understand one of their children got their first communion here last year. i understand until recently beau came here, until his health was in severe decline and like his father, the younger biden was a man dedicated to publish service. he was a major in the army national guard and did tour in iraq and served as attorney general for delaware for two terms. he was good looking and well liked and last year he announced his plans to run

and, and has had issues, and a, suffered a mild stroke in 2010. he was diagnosed with brain cancer in august of 2013, but he sought treatment and was given, a clean bill of health later that year, this spring, however, the cancer came back and he sought aggressive treatment. he was taken to walter reid army medical center earlier this month and passed away yesterday evening surrounded, by his family n a statement vice-president biden wrote more than his professional accomplishments, beau measured himself as a husband father, son and brother and his absolute honor made him a role model for our family. in the word of the biden family beau biden was quite simply the finest man any of us have ever known. president obama also released a statement saying beau took

after joe he studied the law like his dad he had been choosing the same law school. he chased a life of public service like his dad serving in iraq and as delaware's attorney general. like his dad beau was a good, big hearted devoutly catholic and deeply faithful man who made a difference in the the lives of all he touched. he lives on in their hearts. now, i also spoke with monsignor joseph redmond pastor of this church, said the members here are shocked they sent their condolences through the entire biden family. now beau biden i understand his grandparents and mother are buried here and that the family had has expressed a desire to also have beau biden, make this his final resting place. again, the members here of sent condolences to the entire family and they too are grieving the loss of this son father brother and father. live from wilmington, cherrie

more perfect than 75 and a beach, boardwalk, it is really nice. this is in rehoboth beach. i have been saying it all morning. moderate risk of rip current. you can pick that up by watching these waves if you watch them for a couple seconds. maybe that ocean is active. be very careful if you go in the water because as i have been saying the not every single life guard chair has a life guard in it the because it is early in the season. you do not want to find a problem with the beach, you don't want to sunburn much less anything that can happen in the the water. seventy-four in philadelphia as these temperatures continue to climb. seventy-four in wilmington. seventy-two in trenton. seventy-one in allentown. sixty-seven in the the poconos. it doesn't get more comfortable then this but it starts to get more uncomfortable through the afternoon as temperatures climb. storm scan three, we are still not looking at much but just really nice looking weather but if you go to the north notice there are a few showers, very light but they are moving on through and they

are moving through quickly. if you saw one to the north you didn't see it for long. prolonging it would be this cold front it is just, troubling along just barely moving. as long as it is in the neighborhood it is a threat in the neighborhood and this low pressure system will join up with it, ride up a along it and two of them will be dealing with some rain around here. we need rain but maybe not as heavy as some spots might be picking up. so continuing to monitor this, they are changing their mind, lot, which is never a good sign as far as the final solution because they have in the really come up with a final solution just yet. we will continue to machine for models and see whether sampling the atmosphere out in time can come up with some kind of a consensus. even by monday, we are looking at some of those heavier rains coming in the picture and we cannot totally rule it out by tuesday either. i think first couple of days, of this week are days that you'll pay attention to.

computer model says, maybe a ribbon of clear with some clouds and then these are all changes. this is not how it was an hour ago. computer model changed its mind and wanted to bring through brief little shower, quick. that is very fast mover. maybe even this afternoon and in a couple of spots a away from our northern zones. that was a change. then as we go through 1:00 in the morning heavier rain to the north and then as we go through the day time tomorrow this is at 6:00 o'clock we will start to see that heavier rain and this is as we go through 5:00 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. we will pick up those showers and where we're looking at orange and reds that is heavier rain. even the yellow, it is not just a drop in the bucket. so watch for heavier rain as we go through monday afternoon, monday at 8:00 o'clock, computer model is setting it up along here and does not the move it all that much. it keeps heavy rain over us. that is that training effects

read the time but we will skip over that and get to ann evans in the the cbs-3 traffic center. good morning, ann. >> good morning nicole. it is 8:18. it is i-95 at academy in delays or problems on i-95, so far in construction to put up with and thankfully in accidents. i-95 looking good through philadelphia and its suburbs. moving on to the mid county tolls and pennsylvania turnpike, mid county tolls are in fine shape as well, heading to the poconos no delays on the northeast extension or the pennsylvania turnpike. on to the ben franklin bridge, which has construction by the the way in both directions east and westbound, heading in to and out of philadelphia, the right lane is closed in each direction so right new in slow downs but later on as traffic picks uptake walt whitman instead. further up no problems on the 42 freeway or 55, ac the expressway and parkway look good. no delays on 676 or admiral wilson boulevard. the mass transit this morning is honor close to schedule.

this is a place where generations within the the biden family are buried. it is a place where beau biden with his children received holy communion last year. i have been told by monsignor here that beau biden was a devout catholic and that the 46 year-old like his father, the vice-president, was a man of service. he served in the army national guard. he did a tour in iraq and was delaware attorney general from 2007 until earlier this year. he was handsome, well like and he a announced plans to run for delaware governor in 2016 but his bright future and those plans were stifled by health issues. younger biden suffered a mild stroke in 2010 and according to vice-president's office he was diagnosis with brain cancer in august of 2013. he for the back and he got a clean bill of health, that year, but the cancer occurred this year. he sought aggressive treatment and was admitted to walter

"eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson talked to family members who are demanding that the gunman turn himself in. >> stop worrying about being snitches or rats. >> reporter: when shots are fired in kensington heroes can be hard to find. >> she needs answers she needs to know why she was outside, and somebody put a bullet at her. >> reporter: ortiz says her hero is likely on this block. she believes someone here knows who pulled the trigger and put her niece in the emergency room. all she wants is that person to step forward.

>> i'm just hurting from the fact that nobody is standing up for her. >> reporter: police say shots were fired here at 11:30 friday night her niece, 13 year-old diamond and three other children were sitting on the neighborhood porch when they heard a gun go off. diamond ran home when she felt the straight bullet in her side. >> second time i heard it, i came outside and i seen people running. >> reporter: neighbor destiny heard shots from inside of her home police say at least two of the people witnesses saw fleeing and had guns and were shooting at each other when diamond were caught in the cross fire. >> i was upset, this little girl don't do nothing wrong. >> reporter: police would find 20 shell casings on the ground and three cars and would be home struck by stray bullets. with just one of those bullets, teenage girl with so much life yet to live is now fighting to survive. >> i have all this anger inside of me. i want to scream. i want to do everything for my baby. i wish i hadn't been away from

on the news this morning because that is what we do around here. >> yes, as always, a lot have ground to cover but we cannot let you go without talking about your retirement. i know i will miss talking to you every single sunday. truly one of the news people i could ask anything and everybody of and you would have an interesting insightful answer. so a couple more questions, if you'll do that for me, looking back on your career, i mean two hours until your final broadcast, it has been a half century that you have been in news. how are you feeling going into this next show. >> well, i mean it is a little bit bitter sweet. people say will you miss this? yes, i will miss being in the middle of things and getting to talk to the people who make the news. that is reason why i wanted to get into this profession, in the first place. i love going behind police lines, i loved talking to the people who make the news. i always tried to remember this is not about the newscaster this is about the people who make the news and people that the news impacts

on. so that part of it, i really am going to miss. maybe i'm not going to miss having to get up so early on the weekend that would be a one plus to all of this but i till you nicole somebody asked me a while ago what do you take away. what i take away are not possessions, or anything, i take away the memories here of the just absolute fun that it is to be a reporter. that is what i wanted to do as a little boy. i got to do that. i never thought any of those things would be possible, that is what i wanted to do but i never dreamed that i would get that opportunity. so, that is what i'm going to miss. i am also going to miss, i have to tell you the the fact that people invited me into their homes on sunday morning and they dit year after year after year. that is just a meant the world to me over the years and i

reporter stephanie stahl has been following for over a year. >> what kind do you want. >> reporter: amy reid has six children and a deadly cancer that she and her husband said was cause by a surgical device that they say should never have been used. now fbi is investigating were a potentially dangerous device was used on thousands of patients for years. >> it is about time frame, you know some federal agency, look to see what was known who knew it and why it wasn't reported. >> reporter: both doctors have been on a mission since amy 42 now was first diagnosed with cancer after an operation in 2013. they say it was caused by a device called a morsellator that is used to, shred fibroid tumors to be easily removed but shredding ended up inadvertently spreading cancer that had in the been detect. one of the tea vice makers johnson and johnson was told about the tea vice in 2006 is he claim they didn't do enough to protect patients.
