in delaware county. plus, two young girls are recovering this morning after taking frightening fall from a fourth story window. >> good morning everyone, it is 6:00. today is saturday, june 6th, i'm diana rocco in this morning for nicole brewer. we have kind of cloudy or foggy start here in center city. but carol is promising it will get better, right? >> yes. and you didn't say when, which is good. i love. that will don't box me in. but it will be great tomorrow. today, today is also fine, it is just that we've got the clouds out there this morning and we can't completely rule out shower. in fact, we've already seen couple of them. and you notice the clouds that we're seeing right now through atlantic city it, may be ending up to be kind after cloudy day, at the shore today. but, tomorrow, we will make up for it. we have clouds, also, as go to reading. so if you're vacationing whitfield elementary school out on the playground for some reason, you have okay conditions this morning at 65 degrees, six an is not bad. we're getting very picky once we get into better weather we get very particular about how

much better it needs to get. 62 degrees, in trenton, 64 in wilmington, it is 62 in millville, and in allentown and you can see couple of those showers loop over the last three hours see the showers died out as think approach south jersey, still few moving through lancaster and northern new jersey, also, picking up some showers. they're not totally gone. we may be finding few other little later on this afternoon, but they should be firely widely scattered. seventy-three by noon, by 3:00 p.m., high for the day partly sunny at 80 degrees. and here is what we are dealing with, and computer model says 8:00 a.m. few showers through allentown by 11:00 a.m., few showers, maybe through burlington county, and gloucester, camden counties, and then, as we hit 1:00 p.m. maybe few more showers following along and we can't totally rule out thunderstorm. but i tell you those showers leave, and they leave us in phenominal shape for tomorrow. i'll show you all of that coming up. diana? >> thinking positive here, thank you, carol. >> new this morning single

car crash along i95 in delaware county leaves one person dead. "eyewitness news" on the southbound lanes just before route 420, around 12:30 this morning. we are told the victim returned to nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. the cause of the crash remains under investigation this morning. police have not yet released the victims' identity. police in germantown are investigating a huge crime scene stretching for blocks. it began just after 1:30 this morning. we are tolman in his 20's, shot near germantown avenue, in bridgehurst street. victim was hit nine times. he ran into chinese food store for help. police then followed his trail of blood and made another startling discovery. >> we found multiple shell casings, at least ten fired shell casings and a car with multiple bullet holes in it. >> the victim is in critical condition this morning at einstein medical center, police are hoping nearby surveillance cameras may offer clues into the gunmen.

>> one week after he lost his battle with brain cancer, beau biden's family and friend gather this morning to bid him a final farewell. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is live at the saint anthony of padua church in wilmington, where president obama will deliver the eulogy later this morning. good morning syma. >> reporter: good morning, diane a funeral mass is set to start at 10:30 this morning and like you said, president obama will give the eulogy, this after hundreds came here at saint anthony church yesterday to say good-bye to beau biden. >> former delaware attorney general beau biden was car toyed saint anthony church friday. biden will be laid to rest today, this after hundreds gathered to pay their respects. many waited up to six hours to say good-bye, at times the line wrapped around the block. mourners say they feel as though biden is part of their family. >> i remember when joe went to the senate, you know, just important to be here.

chowdhry cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> thank you, same, a somber day there. >> beau biden's funeral is again this morning at 10:30 at the saint anthony church of padua in wilmington. president obama will deliver his eulogy. we will stream that live for you, on our website, if you would like to see it, cbsphilly.com. >> two young girls remain hospitalized, this morning in critical condition after falling from a fourth floor window. it happened on the 700 block of turner street in allentown late last night. chopper three was over the scene. we're told the victims are three and five years old. they were rushed to lehigh valley hospital, cedar crest where they remain at this hour. police are still working to determine what led to the fall. >> we now know the identity of the robbery suspected killed in a shoot-out with off duty philadelphia police detective. police say he fired a loaded gun with blanks, in late night heist of pizza. who our natasha brown has more from police headquarters.

>> that's why i came tonight. actually my husband is coming later on, because he is worried about them, too. >> loyal customers filed into the rising sun pizza shop to check on rattled employees worlds of attempted robbery at the pizza store spread quickly throughout the neighborhood. >> i'm more worried about what they're feeling right now i'm worried about them. i'm worried that people will stop coming to a great place. >> this, as evidence of the shoot-out, that occurred inside the pizza shop thursday night, bullet shattered glass from exchange between an off-duty police detective and two robbers. two mask men walk into the shop at 11:30 thursday night and announced a robbery. they put a gun to the head of the off duty officer and ordered him to the floor. moments later police say that officer jumped into action. >> they took money from his hands, ordered him to the ground, at that point in time, and they turn their direction away from him he stood back

up announced who i was police officer. one of the suspect fired twice at him. >> police say the suspect were firing blanks, but the officer did manage to exchange gunfire. one, 33 year old suspect found nearby, collapsed with gunshot wounds to the torso. store employees identify him as one of the robbers. neighbors say they're just happen that i no one else got hurt. >> thankfully, nobody but the criminal got hurt. and thank god there was a cop in there. >> this police officer's actions are being hailed as heroic. meantime police are now scouring through surveillance video from both inside and outside that far pizza shop. in search of second suspect who got away. at police headquarters, natasha brown cbs-3 "eyewitness news". $5,000 reward is now being offered as police search for the man who they believe stabbed his ex girlfriend to death. forty-five year old michael itell, you see him here in the picture, wanted for the murder of 39 year old carol bone. she was found un response enough her driveway, in berlin

township wednesday night. itell charged with first degree murder, police say bone had order of protection against him and possibly feared for her life. anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police. >> two suspect are in custody this morning, in a series of robberies near the temple university campus. police arrested 17 year old desean harden and 16 year old anthony -- bryant anthony facing charges in five of the charges, anthony facing charges in two. police say this surveillance video shows the duo in action on the night of may 14th, on willing ton street. police say they pulled the gun on a man and then stole his iphone. >> take a look at this video from monday night. you see two men break the window of the van in camden, then use an ac sell rent to set it on fire. shortly after, two other vehicle fires nearby pennsauken two cars were torched and police believe the same suspect are to blame. anyone with information is asked to call camden county

police. >> it has been two years since the deadly building collapse here in center city. ceremony chemical rate dollars the tragic day in honor of the six victims who lost their lives when building under demolition collapsed on the salvation army next-door at 22nd and market street. for the first time, the woman described as a miracle survivor met her rescuer, pat ciarrocchi was there as they embraced. >> i was the fireman who found you. oh, your welcome your welcome. >> the moment felt sacred. the miracle survivor of horrific building collapse meets the fire chief who heard her cries. >> he yelled. >> i was so afraid nobody fine me, nobody save me, and i tried to scream, help. >> nearly 13 hours earlier maria, who is native ukraine had walked into the salvation army thrift shop at 22nd and market. a wall had collapsed on to the shop, trapping and crushing maria. it was 11:00.

when fire chief john o'neil, heard a faint voice in the quiet. >> when i first saw her move, it scared me. >> within moments the extrication began. maria's close friend, daria translates her story. >> i realize it is dark, and light made difficult to see. i was praying inside myself they fawn me, they found me, and i am alive. >> maria's crushing injuries have been devastating. she has had to endure a bilateral amputation up to her pelvis. complicated by infections. how does she feel? >> so-so. not good, and not very, very bad. >> initially, chief o'neil, 26 year veteran of the department, wondered whether not very, very bad was enough. >> what did i put her through? you know did i give her quality of life back? i just struggled with, you know would the other side of

the coin been better? >> he was asking would death have been kinder for this once vibrant woman? but on the first anniversary of the collapse, maria had publicly expressed her gratitude to still be with her family. that changed everything for o'neil. >> sometimes it is very difficult to be with what i have to do, but i am thankful this person saved my life and i am able to join my kids every day. i am able to see my granddaughter, and i am able to enjoy life. >> you can't help but be moved by maria's courage. her medical bills have topped $8 million. her lifetime care is expected to be astronomical and costs that's according to her attorney. but for now, two people brought together by fate can be at peace knowing that the wounds that you can't see are healing, too. in the saturday center, pat ciarrocchi cbs-3, "eyewitness

>> welcome back, on the health watch this morning, do you have sunscreen ready for the weekend? doctors say people who use it, often miss spot, and that can lead to problems. health reporter stephanie stahl has new reminder, from dermatologists. >> hat feron sunscreen keeps outside summer fun safe, guarding against the rays harmful uv raise rays, especially important for children. >> she gets lots of sunscreen every day. >> despite best efforts doctors say, there are certain spots many of us tend to miss. the american academy of dermatology says 37% of people rarely, or never apply sunscreen to their backs. >> it is rally hard to get your whole back and shoulders and chest covered. specially around bathing suit straps. and those places that you don't cover with sunscreen are the places you'll get a sunburn. >> other spots often missed

is finding, and he's out in clementon. we have 64 degrees temperature, as this is where bill, and his lovely dog you know i love to show them in the morning, they are saying warmer this morning than the past week. no complaints on these temperatures whatsoever. let's take a stroll shall we? come on, here we go, we are going down to the board walk in rehoboth beach and it looks really nice, but a little bit foggy, i know, to start the day little more sunshine, is always welcome on the weaken. but we've got some fog out there. 60 degrees the present temperature, so enjoy whatever it is outside your door, which won't be as brit as will be tomorrow morning at this time. tomorrow morning looks absolutely stellar as we put this click nerve motion, 65 degrees, our temperature right now out at the airport 62 allentown, 606 in the poconos, 61 down in wildwood at this point. so comfortable in every single location, we have seen few little showers they for the most part have been little, and light diane referred to

them as just sparklers on her windshield. accurate description. they're heavier than that, though, like roman candle up through new york, because, you can see much heavier showers and then, they've got couple of little sparklers as we keep the fireworks theme going. as you head out toward lancaster. i think we might be finding a few more of these as the front comes through today. so you can't totally rule it out. but, it is comfortable today. temperatures around 80 degrees, this afternoon with sun clouds, and that chance of picking up a shower. maybe an isolated, very isolated thunderstorm. then tomorrow, is just perfect. if you have plans and you feel like oh, i have to have guaranteed dry weather i would switch them to tomorrow. tomorrow will be absolutely ideal. temperatures in the upper 70s sunny, nice, monday, the humidity picks up, chance of shower thunderstorm, and then by tuesday we may be dealing with the same thing. here's our computer model that says 9:00 in the morning few showers, 11:00 in the morning few showers. scattered around. by the time we hit 1:00 this

afternoon, few more, could there be an isolated heavier downpour? with a isolated thunderstorm in it is possible. this is what the computer mod sell finding at least the way it is sampling the atmosphere at this point. saying by 4:00, a lot of this is leaving us. we are left with a lovely night tonight. if you have some nighttime plans, perfect. if you are going 'd withing plenty of them this time of the year, loverly night for that. tomorrow great monday, few more clouds start to come in here. and then we start to pick up a few other shower chances from another front that's coming into the area. and by 10:00 at night still possibly on monday night dealing with couple of showers out of this thing. maybe again on tuesday. the drought that we were starting to use the d word, we're not using it now because in philadelphia, we're about an inch and three quarters over our normal rainfall totals for this month. and even the moderate drought has moved well to the north. it is still rather dry, to the north, but it is not as bad as it was last week at this time. we got a lot of rain this week.

i'm diana rocco in nor nicole brewer this morning. little cloud any center city, here's meteorologist carol erickson. i hear things will be looking up later today? >> yes, they should be, yes. it is six/six tonight we are looking at june 6, with temperatures in the 60s and think we'll finds our temperatures this afternoon getting very close to the 8 degrees mark. now, does it come with sunshine or what we see right now, clouds? i think fair amount of clouds certainly this morning but things should brighten up little later on this afternoon with some sun breaks. still, we can't rule out picking up shower, and we've seen some out there. now, also, finding not great conditions, on the board walk, you can see this is down in rehoboth beach little foggy down there but still people are out at 61 degrees, why not? storm scan3, with the showers that are going to harrisburg right now. we've seen cup couple of very light ones have died out. better ones through northern new jersey. the chance of those coming back well, there is a chance if we move through the

also, happening today after more than three decades of wining and dining, some of the wormed's most notables, the iconic four season hotel closes its doors today in logan square. "eyewitness news" there for final brunch yesterday. the luxury hotel is scheduled to reopen in 2018 at location currently under construction at 18th and arch streets in center city. >> american pharaoh could gallop into the history books today, if he wins the belmont steaks in new york. he would become the first triple crown winner since 1978. the only obstacle standing in his way are seven other cold. wendy gillette reports from belmont park. >> american pharaoh got in one last work out before saturday's belmont steaks. then he enjoyed not so private bath as cameras caught his every move. his trainer says the horse is relaxed and ready to become the first triple crown winner in 37 years.
