his now widowed daughter-in-law as his son's flag draped casket was received by saint anthony's of padua church. >> how do you say goodbye to the finest man any of us have ever known. >> he understood the importance of maintaining trust with his fellow soldiers and with the public to gain justice and the victims he fought so hard for. >> ♪ amazing grace ♪ >> reporter: born joseph robin net biden the third he was the oldest of his two son's, the survivor of the accident that killed beau's mother and sister when he was three yearsed. >> that very young boy made a very grownup decision. he would live a life of meaning. >> god gave us a boy who had no limits to the weight of love he could bear. >> reporter: beau ended his battle with brain cancer last week at the age of 46.

a competitor has had a crack at it. i want to show you the horse everybody is talking about. american pharaoh has a tall order to win this race. to do it he'll have to win by winning his third race in five weeks with a trainer and a jockey that have come close but have lost a combined five times since 1997 on a course, by the way, that this horse has never raced on. and since we're talking about the belmont stakes this thing is a dream killer. it's a quarter of a mile longer than the derby about five-16thths long of a mile longer than the preakness. some feel it's something special about this horse. he's calm and loves to compete and a lost people we spoke to said it's just time. >> he's special. i do believe it. i think he's probably the most special since smarty jones. >> just time to wip the triple crown. >> he's beat every one of these horses.

so, i feel today is the day. >> i mean, i don't know much about this horse but we'll probably bet on him. township drive way wednesday night. one man is dead after being shot multiple times in the point breeze section of philadelphia. it happened shortly after 2:00 this afternoon on the 2300 block of oak ford street. police say the 43-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. no arrests have been made just yet. also today authorities in lehigh county ruled the death of a three-year-old girl who fell four stories from a window accidental. it happened on the 700 block of turner street in allentown late last night. authorities have identified the little girl as tamara arnett. the victim's five-year-old sister who also fell out of the window remains hospitalized in critical condition. police are still working to determine what led to the fall. and a 17-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot nine times in germantown. it happened just after 1:30 this morning near germantown avenue and bringhurst street. the victim ran into a chinese

jennifer with do your exit interview and adam made you a cake. red velvet. oh, thank you. i made this. take charge of your retirement. talk to a state farm agent today. >> a woman who was hit in the face by a broken baseball bat is doing better as she recovers tonight. it happened at fenway park in boston on friday night. the bat flew into the stands several rows behind home plate striking tonya carpenter in the head. she was stretchered off the field while police tended to young child who was with her. doctors have upgraded carpenter's condition from critical to serious. two southwest airlines planes bump into each other on the tarmac at a southern california airport. officials say 4721 was leaving the gate at bob hope airport when it bumped wings with flight 2183. luckily no one was hurt. both planes were taken out of service for repairs and inspection and the passengers

were ultimately rebooked on other flights. the incident does remain under investigation. a local family meantime breaks the guinness world record for the largest cup of lemonade. take a look here. michael and trish atkins hosted the event today in lindenwold new jersey trying to raise money for alex's lemonade stand. the atkins daughter lilly survived cancer after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor eight years ago. her family has hosted a lemonade stand ever since. >> the message is mr. find a cure. wherever you are go stop at an alex's lemonade stand. give your donation. know that alex center city dedicateed to the legacy of alex scott. >> the cup was filled with 1,735 gallons of lemonade. wow. it shatters the previous record by nearly 200 gallons. that's great. and another alex's lemonade stand happening today in swedesboro, new jersey. this one hosted by a

next week things change. out west colorado residents can't get a break from severe weather. violent storms spawn tornadoes thursday and friday and more could touchdown today over 12,000 people in the denver area woke up without power this morning. twisters have damaged several homes but no injuries have been reported. that's great news, no injuries right there. back home things quieting down here in the delaware valley. we'll take you to ocean city right now take a live look at the boardwalk. the sunshine is back out. now, we do have a wind though coming right off the ocean. that ocean dropped about 60 degrees, the temperature a little cooler along the immediate coastline but at least the rain is gone. we're back out to full sun for the rest of the weekend. here's what's happening on storm scan3. the last of the showers moving through central delaware right now. we had that heavy shower and storm come through south jersey and wildwood, radar estimates of two maybe 3-inches of rain from that storm but they have now pushed to the south and east and we're clearing out nicely from north to south. that's going to be our trend. check out the drought monitor.

all the rain we had that's great news. from philadelphia northward you see the areas in yellow that's just indicating abnormally dry conditions. still areas up in the poconos for a moderate drought which is the first level but a the least it's getting a little better. we could see a little bit more rain, certainly not a lot like some of the storms we've seen over the last few days. 79 the current temperature in philadelphia, 80 in reading this hour, still a little bit cool along the immediate coast. there's that cooler air to our north, 68 in albany, that starts to push farther southward over the next 12 to 24 hours and that comfort index that's going to be on the move. much more bearable air mass to deal with. right now that dewpoint temperature 58 degrees measures how much moisture is in the air. tomorrow it's going to be 50's so that means very pleasant conditions to be outside. enjoy it. if you don't like the humidity it's going to quickly return for next week. so we're dry for now.

high pressure over new england. tomorrow we'll a northeasterly breeze. temperature in the upper 70's slightly below average with the sunshine. here comes the change on monday. a warm front moves through we crank up the humidity once again and watch out for some late day showers and storms afternoon and evening and as another front comes through tuesday, still the chance for a lingering shower or storm especially for the first half of the day. still very warm and humid. high temperatures in the 80's. overnight a few clouds around especially south of the city but we're going to be dry. those showers do come to an end, nice start to your sunday into the afternoon, mostly sunny conditions. monday morning we're dry some clouds starter to move in. it's late afternoon evening there's a line of showers and maybe even a few strong thunderstorms coming through could drop down heavy rainfall in any storms that do move over you. temperatures tomorrow it's cool, though. waking up 6:00 a.m., 40's possibly in the far northwest suburbs to the mid-50's in most locations. we rebound nicely into the upper 70's for afternoon temperatures. we bring back that heat on
