morning. >> reporter: erika and natasha, good morning. we are talking about another hit and run in philadelphia, this time happening in the feltonville section, happening just behind me at front street and boulevard and you know what we all know that this road is already dangerous enough to cross this accident happened at intersection here, now police are looking for driver still at large while victim rehad mains in the hospital. a pair of shoes is all that was left at the scene after serious hit and run in the feltonville section of philadelphia wednesday morning. police say a 25 year-old map was crossing here at front and boulevard around 1:30 when hit, multiple people called 911 to report the accident after the driver didn't stopped. meantime medics transported victim to einstein hospital where he underwent surgery forehead trauma and broken bones. police say he is critical but expected to survive. now accident investigators are trying to track down the driver. >> vehicle that struck him is described as a black or dark

column offered honda or acura last seen traveling north on the boulevard from front street on the inner lanes. >> reporter: police say it is unclear at this time if the 25 year-old was walking with or against his signal. that part of the investigation. police are canvassing businesses nearby for surveillance video hoping to get a better description of the striking vehicle since not much evidence was left at the scene. >> impact caused 259 year-old victim to come out of both of his shoes. there is no parts of the striking vehicle that we can see in plane view on the boulevard. however, we believe that the striking vehicle will have some front end damage. >> reporter: meantime police have not yet released the victim's name. anyone with any information about this hit and run driver is asked to call police. we are reporting live from feltonville, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

good morning everyone. we have a beautiful shot of i-95 around philadelphia international airport. lets take a look traveling at phl or plan to travel or maybe picking up someone this morning. let look at how free and clear. i9 five i can count however many vehicles on the road as fingers i have because i-95 is a breeze, just a few scattered vehicles but i-95 looking great not only around here but up and over girard point bridge around south philadelphia, delaware county northeast philadelphia, it is all good. ben franklin bridge very quiet. no delays in either direction all bridges are looking great. we have a vehicle will fire on bethlehem pike at west pennsylvania avenue so be mindful of that. no delays for mass transit erika. new this morning a man is recovering after getting shot during a robbery attempt in kensington. police say that man was shot in both legs just after midnight on east first street. detectives are looking for the shooter. a few suspects are under

arrest after leading police on a wild chase that began in bensalem and ended with a crash here at 4800 block of tackawanna street in frankford. police say driver led them down i-95 and eventually into northeast philadelphia an eyewitness tribe what he saw. >> i seen helicopter coming through with the lights. next thing i looked up and i hear a big boom. i park to the side. i see car skating through two other cars. i run a across the street and he hits another van and just started running. >> luckily in one was injured and still unclear right now what prompted the chase. texas police officer accused of using excessive force while responding to a pool party complaint has resign. cell phone video shows corporal eric casebolt picking on a teenage girl at a pool party in mckenney. it shows him point helping his gun at other teenagers. the officers actions are indefensible. >> our policies, our training, our practice do not support

well known local actor loses his leg after a hit and run crash in center city. now police are looking for a driver who struck him. michael toner was crossing market street at 11th street earlier yesterday morning when someone hit him, and then took off. his injuries were so severe that doctors amputated one of his legs. toner has been an anchor for decade and scheduled to perform on penn's campus this weekend. >> i'm heart broken. it is so, so sad. >> we have nothing that is why sometimes somebody might have saw something they might have heard something, the public has been good in the past giving us information keeping it anonymous so anything that would be helpful naturally would be good to give us a call. >> last check toner was in critical condition. police are trying to track down any surveillance video for clues. a large show of support last night in pennsville salem county for a teenager seriously hurt in another hit and run crash.

swollen red river is very slowly starting to recede but it could still be days before that river returns to the banks. river reached 37 feet yesterday, covering parts of the area in water. the highest in 37 years. that river will stay above flood stage through monday. and conversely we are having pretty nice weather here at 5:23, right katie.

we are following breaking news an active search for hit and run driver who critically injured a man. >> it happened on the roosevelt boulevard at front street earlier this morning. police say the 25 year-old victim suffered a number of injuries including head trauma and broken bones. >> the impact caused the 25 year-old victim to come out of both of his shoes.
